Can anyone help me with the dress code for the cruise(formal-semi-etc)? Is everyone's DHs getting tuxes? Is there a pirate night and if so some ideas? I can't overpack because of airline restriction and want to bring some souvies home...

My brother is bringing his tux, but he already owns one. I don't know if he would wear one if he didn't already own one. Me, My DSIL (Disney Lover Linda) says I'm boycotting the formal wear. I've lost close to 40lbs & nothing really fits me right @ the present time. Since, I've got more to lose I"m not really wanting to buy new formal wear. I've got casual & dressy casual. Maybe I can just go as the poor relative!:)

Wow . . . 40 pounds! I'm impressed. I can't seem to lose 10!!?? I think if I were you, I'd buy myself a new outfit as a reward. "Formal" can mean just about anything these days. I'm sure you'll look fabulous!!

Good Friday Morning everyone!

40 lbs is AMAZING!! Jodie and I belong to the same club :rotfl:

My dh is bringing his tux and the guys are renting theirs from the cruise tux people.

I wonder who will get to do the "first docs" dance? Good luck everyone :cheer2:

I will be bringing my tux as well. I purchased it for our last cruise. I looked into renting and found that I could purchase a new one on the web for $ 50 more. :woohoo: Looking into purchasing a lighterweight (summer) suit to bring as well and it double what I paid for the tux.:rolleyes1

Since this cruise will have a European flavor, I wonder if formal nights will be more formal. Will all of our new British friends be apt to wear tuxedos since they meet with the Queen all the time?:rotfl2:

Congratulations on losing 40 lbs I think definitely that deserves a special treat and is a wonderful achievement. Agree formal does not have to be expensive and a nice skirt and top are quite adequate and you can get ones over here with a bit of glitter on them quite reasonable.

I have given up on the losing weight idea and to prove it have just eaten two chocolate biscuits. Will have to go out and do some gardening so I do not feel guilty.

Came back from shopping this morning and found a young bat had fallen from our roof space into the garden - how all of the cats what parade through every day had not found it I do not know. It is sitting in a supperware box at the moment and I am going to try and release tonight but we have had a lot of gusty wind so I am a bit concerned. Never a dull moment

Have a great weekend everyone and I will be so pleased to get the documents.

I am SOOOOOOO excited about this cruise!!! I wish it was here already!!!

have not heard of any more British on this cruise so far think we are on our own.

When I speak with our Queen next will ask if I can borrow some of her sparking jewellery. Still makes me smile on our last Disney cruise at lunch a little girl told her grandmother to take off her sunhat as she was dining with British people. Told her it was o.k. as our queen is rarely seen without her hat so her grandmother could wear hers. Life through the eyes of a child there is nothing quite like it and I would personally not want to do an adult only cruise for that reason.

Bren

Brenda that is so cute!

So you and the Queen are good friends? Please say Hello to her at your next tea!:upsidedow

Jose, you are now officially our first Thread Stalker :lmao: (but confidentially I have been reading the Transatlantic thread and the May 26 thread religiously! It is like I am going with them) :rotfl:

So I am bummed about my missing Castaway Club cards (missing because I have not gotten them yet). I ask my MIL and she says yes, she got hers the other day. . . WHAT?? Now I really feel left out :headache:

Maybe the rule is . . Castaway Club Cards last, Docs first. . .It could happen!;)

Hi all, I am on the June 6 cruise but I had a question for those making t-shirts, lanyards, etc. Did you have a hard time finding a vendor that would do these for you? My wife made us a t-shirt but the company told us we had to remove the mickey ears and the word "Disney". Now I understand Disney wants to protect their trademark and people are afraid of the big mouse, but if you're not selling them and they are a minor expense for a MAJOR Disney expense I didn't think it would be a big deal.

How did you guys handle this issue? Letter from Disney? Found a vendor who didn't care? Thanks!

Only got close to the Queen once and that was when she came to our little island to open a new wing of the infant school. We got an invite as being Parish Councillors we were asked to attend. Children were not excited about seeing the Queen just the Lord Leutenant of Kent because he was dressed in his regalia and carried a sword. Got to get the priorities right of course. They thought the queen was just a little grandmother and she really is very tiny.

We had a local lady whose daughter worked for the Queen Mother at our WI and the stories she told us were so funny about working in the Royal household. Remind me on the cruise and I will tell you some of them if you are interested.

Over here in UK we usually do not get the castaway cards but I made a big fuss and they have now decided we should get them. I received ours a little while ago and hope other uk members get theirs too.

Just wondering if I can persuade my husband to try on some of his new things before I pack them - why are men so difficult with clothes or is it just mine?

We ordered our Tshirts from Cafepress.com. The shirts are up only for a little bit until they realize that they are there and delete them because of copyright issues..... Anything that has a trademark will be an issue...

Ok everyone, I couldn't resist. I cancelled my DMIL's cat 11 reservation, & booked her in cat 12 GT. She has saved $2,000.00 by doing this.

The AAA agent wasn't very happy with me, but to bad. I hope at least my DMIL buys me a drink. LOL

Auntsue1 how did you lose your weight so fast?

Patricia

Brenda (skallywag) I bet you have some very interesting stories to tell about the Queen. Hopefully we can hear some of them.

PURTYPAT1 Hope everything goes well for you with your downgrade for your DMIL. You're right too bad, it's your money! Disney Lover Linda & myself are doing Medifast. I've also joined Curves. Linda is going with me tomorrow to Curves.

Disney Lover Linda were wondering if when you downgrade, because Disney loses money will they upgrade someone else first or upgrade the other person who didn't downgrade to a higher category. :confused3

Either way we're all getting excited for the cruise!

Brenda,

WOW! Id be screaming! Tell us what happens with the bat in the Tupperware box. We live in 100+ old house in Titusville, PA (old oil country). One day I'm sitting in the family room & all of a sudden a bat comes in circling the room & with every circle he gets lower & lower to me. I'm screaming! Later I find out screaming was the wrong thing to do, with their sonar that actually made him come closer to me. I caught the bat in a shoebox & let my nephew release it later (45 miles away in Erie, PA). I know once the bats get in the house it's hard to get them out. I'm okay with bats in the attic but not in the living quarters. Turns out when DB was packing to leave he left the attic door open & hence the bat came to see me!:scared1:

Brenda you could teach us the REAL way to courtsey to the Queen!princess:

I'd be like one of Cinderella's ugly stepsisters. The one whose knee cracks when she curtsied.:lmao:

Okay, that's enough chatting from me! I'm supposed to be @ work but I guess I'm hardly working!

Ok Sue, how hard is medifast?

GUESS WHAT I GOT TODAY? MICKEY LOVES ME AFTER ALL!

Pat --you go girl!
