Hi Mike and family - welcome know you are going to enjoy it. This will be our second Disney cruise also.

Just wondering if we Brits are going to be seriously outnumbered on this cruise - Somehow think we are.

Great, my DD is kinda nervous about going to the teen, we were on the Wonder a few weeks agao, & she loved the 10-12 year old group. I just might keep in that group again.

We are so excited about this trip. Has anyone cruised the Med before?

Wrote to Disney to ask if they could sail close enough to Stromboli for us to view this active volcano. Most cruise liners do and also linger for people to get a good view.


Bit of a disappointment as this is the reply I got.

Just wonder if they realise this is the most active volcano in the world and a chance to see it from the sea.

Feel a bit disappointed about this as we must sail near it when leaving Palmero for Naples.

My sister will be 16 and is constantly griping about the fact that there are going to be too many little kids. Well maybe she should just not go!

Thats too bad about the volcano. It would be nice to see something current! I am getting very excited that it's almost 2007 and soon we will be cruising. I just received my daughters passport. Check that off the list. For all you 2nd timers or more, when do they normally send out the schedule of events on the ship. So you know what to pack? Just curious if I have to do any shopping. I'd like to hit the xmas sales!

I just saw that excursions are out too! There are so many of them! My niece will be 8 and my nephew 10 at the time of the cruise. Thanks Skallywag for the flight info

Just looking now and some seem rather expensive. Wonder when they will let us know if the shorter ones are a.m. or p.m departures. Anyone know?

Have chosen a couple and will also do my own research I think.

We had a wonderful trip from Dec 8 - 12th. We stayed the first night at AKL and the animals were actually moving due to the cooler weather (60 deg F). We then transferred to the GF for the balance of the trip. We did commando on Saturday and did 3 parks in one day and even saw the space shuttle launch. On Sunday, we went to Epcot and went on Soarin, dinner at Le Cellier in Canada and sat in the second row for the Candlelight Processional show. On Monday night, we went to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas show. I had to get back to work on Wednesday to rest.

Sounds like fun at disneyworld! I was wondering the same thing about am or pm for the shorter ones. I noticed that the price for some were signifigantly higher than other lines but the rome ones were actually signifigantly less than other ships...I wonder what the trade off is?? You might be able to call the shore excursion department and ask them...who knows. I have saved my first choices. Now I have to save some more money! hahaha

Interesting excursions... going to be spending a great deal of time evaluating them. I did notice that the Rome ones were less than I expected.... We're really interested in the VIP Vatican tour.

Holy Cow there are a lot of choices!

I am letting DH pick the excursions that involve the ruins, as he is more into that part than I. I will be happy with anything!

I did like the one at Pompeii with the ruins, olive oil and cheese

Send email to DCL to ask about a brochure showing the excursions and also about sailing past Stromboli as feel this would be a wonderful sight. Asked them who I have to contact to request this but they have not given me any information.

This is the reply I received

At this time, we are unable to provide a printed brochure with our new
2007 Mediterranean itinerary and optional shore excursions. To view the
most up-to-date information, please visit www.disneycruise.com.

Under each individual shore excursion description it will state the
duration of the excursion. Unlike the Caribbean where you could have
the option of booking two excursions in one port of call, most of the
Mediterranean shore excursions will take more time in order to cover
transportation to the destination and to give our Guests ample time to
explore!

Just wonder what people would do if they have no computer to look up these excursions and also wonder the timing of them. If anyone is phoning DCL wonder if they would be kind enough to ask them for more information on brochure and times and when this will be available and post back.

Everytime I have emailed or called with a question they have given me the same standard pre-scripted responses. My last phone call, in which I supposedly spoke with a supervisor, I stated that for a cruise line that prides itself on it's fantastic customer service and support is falling very short with me. Their standard response emails and phone answers are not satisfying the customers who have spent quite a bit of money to go on the med cruises. I can only sympathize with you. As always, I will share any additional info I get with all the medheads!

I quite agree they are not being forthcoming and obviously have information and do not seem to appreciate that many people are very excited and want to plan. I have friends here who have cruised with Thompson a very budget cruise line and they get loads of information and even a map of each port/town so that people can explore on their own. Have seen these and they are excellent and I may ask to borrow them to print relevant ones.
