1.) What do I say to the cab driver who takes us to the port? Just that I want to go to the port? Or does it have a specific name? Or can I say I want to go to the Disney Magic? Sorry, I just think of every little thing that could go wrong.

2.) What is the protocol for prescription medications I want to have in my carry-on? What about over the counter meds?

I was actually wondering the same thing about the port. I'm guessing there is only one port for cruise ships, and I think our ship will be easy to find! I have not seen any specific instructions from Disney though on this, so I'm assuming its easy. Do you know when checkout is at our hotel?

Yes, they are, but I hear the lines are long - think the rate was about 1.45. Its cheaper if you use an ATM machine (better exchange rate). We plan on using the ATM as soon as we land in Barcelona. I'm also taking some US dollars JUST IN CASE I have a problem with my ATM card(s). Then I can just exchange some money at the airport exchange counter. Hope that helps.

Just looked up hand baggage restrictions on BA site which would probably be a good guide. Fingers crossed it will copy here.

Liquid Policy from USA and Canada
The Transportation Security Administration in the USA and the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority relaxed the restrictions in September 2006 on the carriage of liquids through airport security searches on flights departing airports in the USA and Canada.

Customers may take with them in their cabin bag limited quantities of liquids, gels and aerosols, including travel-size toiletries such as shampoo, suntan lotion, creams, toothpaste, hair gel and hair spray.
Containers holding liquids must not exceed three American ounces or 90ml.
Liquid containers must be carried in a separate clear plastic zip-top bag that does not exceed 20 cm x 20 cm or 8 inches x 8 inches or quart size.
Items must fit in the bag comfortably and the bag must be completely closed.
At the security search, the plastic bag must be removed from the cabin bag and x-ray screened separately.
Customers carrying liquids may be subject to secondary searches before boarding.

I just received a call from the TA's office. The woman didn't give me one word of apology but she said they got my email so they sent someone in to overnight the documents to us. So, we should have them by tomorrow. She was really nasty to me though and acted like I was being a big burden to her. She pointed out several times that the TA is out of the country and she went out of her way to come in and mail out our documents. Oh well, at least it's finally taken care of.

I will write a letter or call them when we get home. I just don't see any point in doing it now since they're out through the 17th and we leave Wednesday. I also don't know what they could really do for me after the fact but I guess I should still let them know.

Honestly the only reason I booked through this TA was because they had the highest amount of onboard credit. Guess that wasn't the best idea and I definitely would not book through them again.

So there I was.....

I was in Italy for a course, and went into Rome by myself one day. It was June, and hot, and I was pregnant at the time. I was standing in the metro station waiting for the train, and all I could think about was getting on the train and sitting down.

As the train pulled up, a group of kids rushed up, and I thought they were trying to get a seat. They pushed and shoved me, and I pushed back as I focused on the empty seat ahead of me thinking "I'm gonna get that seat if it kills me!" I got the seat, and was all happy with myself. That is until the kids ran off the train right as the doors were closing...

That's when the lightbulb went on, and I looked down at my backpack. Most of the zippers were unzipped! Luckily they hadn't been able to get anything out. And I always use a small suitcase padlock on the pocket that has the valuables in it, so they didn't get that compartment unzipped. (I also use one of the pouches that you wear around your neck, so I can keep some money handy for easy access, but that was tucked inside my shirt.)

So all in all it was just a learning experience, and added some excitement to my adventures in Rome. But I definitely learned that you need to be vigilant at all times!

Takes all kinds! I guess we have to be REALLY CAREFUL! I better not go around with my purse hanging out & constantly looking for itemas.

2. I believe you are okay if it's in the Pharmacy bottle with your name on it. If it's not in the orginal container then they like you to have a Prescription for it. Usually, if it's not a controlled substance (Narcotic) you are okay.

Linda's guys (my DB and Dnephews) hardly ever pack themselves. Linda packs for them. A friend of mine recently went on a Dis cruise & when they arrived in Orlando he asked her if she packed pants for him. Needless to say a quick trip was made to the store in WDW! They had Palo Reservations!

1. Well we'll be coming from the hotel so hopefully I'll be fine now that I have the name. Probably someone at the hotel would have known where we needed to go but I just like to have all the details in order.

2. They all have my name on them but now we're starting to wonder about my sister's epipen. That definitely needs to come on the plane but the label isn't on it anymore. Might try to call the doctor and get a prescription for a new one so it has her name on it?

I am starting to wonder if it's even worth it to deal with them after the cruise though. I mean, at that point there's really nothing they can do for us.

We've been out of town this week on another cruise line....not nearly as cool as this one, but it was job related...

OOPS -- sorry, I think this just applies to Caribbean, Canada, Mexico!! The passport rules are being relaxed temporarily for the summer season. If you can show your receipt (proof you have applied) you can travel w/ DL & birth certificate -- sorry, I thought this would help the Med. travellers but think I was wrong!
