I am making a mickey magnet for our door with our disname and regular names. If anyone else wants one PM me the following: Disname, Names of each person in your cabin and cabin#. I will put them on your door if we don't meet for lunch the first day.

Let me know.
Steph

Is it too late to request door magnets? I completely understand if so due to the last few valuable hours and days. If it's not too late......Louanna, Terry and Claire. Cabin 2070
Thanks either way!!!1:yay:

I read in one of the blogs that Europeans don't wear shorts even in very hot weather! They mostly were wearing capris. I like shorts, even if I really don't have the body for them, they are just cooler. Howerver, I think I'll resort to wearing capris when off the ship. ;)

I think I'll go that route as well. Shorts on the ship, capris on excursions. I better make sure I have enough capris...

You will see plenty of shorts around the coastal areas but not so in towns. You will find Italian people dress conservatively and as they get older black is the colour they seem to favour. When we were in Venice recently everyone who was visiting was wearing shorts it seems but not so the locals.

My link to this board does not seem to be reminding me when there are new postings and when I signed on I wondered where everyone had gone. Panic attack had I got the week wrong and you had all sailed without me.

Can you remind me please - brain fagg I think - do we bring one little gift per stateroom for the 20 people on the list? and what was the final price decided.

Know that if I start going back through this morning will never get anything done.

For anyone that remembers my little bat saga - she was brought back down last night and flew away with her mates and that was a nice sight.

Leilani - just love your view of wrapping up and getting on with it despite the weather - our sentiments entirely. If you wait for the right weather you would never go anywhere.

Wracking my brains for the little gift for everyone - and still have one trouser leg to shorten. Will have to keep checking the board to see where we are to meet. Busy busy day on the 17th it is going to be such fun. No Spa treatments this time round but do want to do the rainforest room which we did not have time for last time - any tips please?

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the info - have to go shopping now for my gifts. Was wracking what brain I have left to think of something local to us here.
Bren

Me to do we really have to wait over another week. Wonder if Barcelona will do anything for us or was it perhaps just the first trip over. Be interested to hear from the lst med cruise if they received a welcome. Believe Magic watched the display and then went back out to see for the night - hope they do it for us.

Anyone any idea what the castaway gift is this time - cannot seem to find it anywhere.

I feel so unprepared for the cruise, because I usually obsessively plan vacations, but with the wedding, I haven't given it much thought until now. So, this weekend I dove into all the guidebooks and websites I've been accumulating but ignoring for the past year.

We had booked a tour for Villefranche, but it wasn't exacly what we wanted: we were just settling. After reading about the port, though, we decided to cancel the tour and do Nice, Eze and Monaco on our own. We have tours booked for Naples, Civitavecchia, and La Spezia, but I still have to figure out Palermo, Olbia and Marseilles. They seem to not be covered sufficiently or at all in my guidebooks, so some online research is called for!

My daughter was over in South of France a couple of weeks ago and she said it is so easy and reasonable to do Eze and Monaco by train or cab.

Unfortunately the rail was on strike when she was there but they hired cabs to do monaco. She stayed there a couple of years ago winning a promotion at work and they were booked into the Hermitage Hotel where apparently everyone stays and they did a trip to Eze all included by Vintage car.

Believe you can get train easily from Villafranche to Eze sur mer and a cab from there up the hill. She said it is well worth the visit and we will probably do that ourselves. She also said you should see the casino at night it is worth it also with the fountains etc.

Have just sorted all my travel papers out. Paperwork for hotels and car parking at Gatwick, flight paperwork and so it goes on.

BA have said we can take two cases per person not weighing more than 23 kg and one piece of hand baggage each only. Just wondering how much more I can fit into the laptop bag? Separate bag will have to hold video camera etc.

Have got brain fagg already and started making a list of what I have put into the bag already and where it is. My husband goes mad because I always seem to be checking and rechecking things. He only had to remember one thing a few years ago and that was the video camera which he left by the front door and had to turn round and go back for so will continue with my little list.
Always relax when the plane door is finally shut and I have to put up with what I have with me and if it is forgotten too bad.
Couple of glasses of wine and it really does not matter at all.
Who will join me?
Bren

Thanks for the info Brenda! I've got a whole bunch of print outs of the train and bus schedules, and maps of the whole public transit system, so hopefully we'll be able to find our way around!

Euros ordered-check (wanted to make sure I had some in hand in case there was a problem in the airport)
Notified debit and credit card companies--check (although I was told--You are going to the Mediterannean? They use US dollars so you will not be charged the 3% fee--HUH?? I told the agent no, they use Euros and she says OH well you will be charged a 3% surcharge. IF THE AGENTS DON'T KNOW WHEN YOU ARE NOTIFYING THEM THAT YOU ARE GOING OVERSEAS ABOUT THE LOCAL CURRENCY--UGGGH :headache: )

Ordered some things from Magellens--hope it gets here--check

Laura we don't have anything for Palermo or Sardinia either. Don't feel bad!

Brenda it is only 9:30am or I would join you!:thumbsup2
