June 15 - June 22 2013 Eastern Fantasy

Hi everyone! We are so excited to be on this cruise! We were on the Dream in July and cannot wait to board the Fantasy. It will be me, DH, DS12 and DD7 at the time of the cruise. I will go join the FE and FB groups now! Let the planning begin...

Just booked our second Disney cruise! Woo Hoo! We'll be joining you in June! :cheer2:

It will be me, my husband, and 2 daughters, ages 14 & 11!

I just sent a note to join the FE list. We did this on our first cruise (the Dream in June 2011) and my kids LOVED it!

Can't wait!

I just booked this cruise and i already have a question for everyone!

Our first Disney cruise was a 5 night on the Dream - and there wasn't a formal night.

HOW formal do the guys (men) dress? Will my husband be the only one not wearing a tuxedo? Will a suit suffice? :confused3

Thanks everyone!

Glad you asked this question over here instead of the main boards. This topic tends to get heated and the flames start flying. :happytv: The truth is you will see everything from Tux/Ball Gowns to ripped jeans on formal night. Most men will be in suits for shirts and ties. Most women will have a dress. If you just wear a collared shirt you are fine. I personally like to keep the theme of the night wearing a suit/Mickey tie and get nice family pictures since it about the only we get all dressed up. The choice is up to you.
If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. I as well as others here on this thread are veterans of DCL, the Eastern itinerary and the Fantasy so ask away.

I agree, this subject varies by individual. My husband wears dress pants, sport coat and tie. I wear a nice dress, though I wouldn't call it formal my any means. DS wear khakis and a polo shirt and my DD wears a semi-formal dress.

You really can't go wrong. ;)

In my opinion, I would hate to see ripped jeans!

Welcome! I think I love the planning almost as much as the vacation itself! We've only cruised on the older ships, so we're really excited to see the newest. I'll go on over to the fb page and welcome you there. :thumbsup2

I think the majority DON'T wear a tux. Most guys just wear shirt and tie. There's a good amount in suits and as many in jeans and other casual attire as you see in tuxes. Back when we last sailed with DCL, I got a great deal on a tux for DH and thought he'd really get his money's worth if we cruised regularly. Of course, three and a half years and a recession later, we finally feel comfortable springing for a Disney Cruise again, so he's definitely packing the tux. We had to use it twice to make it a better deal than renting! :lmao:

We also go full pirate for pirate night, but that's what happens when you marry a former drama teacher!

Wow! I just realized we were on the Magic in 2008! I was thinking 2010. Make that five years later...it's been way too long.

First cruise I wore a suit, last trip I just went with slacks, shirt and tie. Couldn't justify the space it took up for two nights for a couple hours. If you want to eat at Palo or Remy I believe you need a jacket though.

Good morning fellow cruisers. Another week has gone by.
We now have only

weeks to go to the Fantasy. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

New to the Discussion board, and this will be our first cruise ever! Just me and the DH, it will be our 5 year anniversary as well as my bday:) Which is how I talked him into a cruise, he is not a water fan but I KNOW he will fall in love!

Welcome, welcome! I think I just added you to the fb page. You will LOVE it! It's always awesome celebrating special events with Disney, so you'll have a very memorable anniversary and birthday. Be sure to take some time to peruse this thread for some great info and to get to know everyone. You'll find that DISers are very knowledgeable and helpful, so feel free to ask any questions. If the folks here can't help, you can go over to the main forum and try your luck there. Cruising with Disney is truly magical, so it's a great place to have your first experience!

:welcome: about the Fathers Day Eastern Fantasy. If you have any questions please do not hestitate to ask.

Thanks for the welcome! I am working my way through this thread gathering info before I ask my questions:cool2:
I am learning a lot about the excursions, everyone is GREAT!

I am also going to post on the other message board, but curious if anyone else is working on getting in shape and/or losing weight for our cruise? I am starting today with the thought that I can dig deep before Thanksgiving, then enjoy myself over the Holidays. I know it might seem early but then if I don't do as well as I want to, I have a cushion (pun intended:hyper:) of time with which to work. Feel free to hold me accountable, my sis and I are starting today!
