June 15, 2012 - 2 Night Getaway on the Disney Magic from NYC!

Good deal! So, they let you book multiple PALO dinners? Is that a Platinum perk I was unaware of? Thought you could only pre-book one dinner per cruise.:confused3
This will be my first booking time as Gold, hoping for just one dinner, and the Brunch.
And what, no excursions - DCL missing a chance at a revenue stream? They could offer ones like "A Visit to the Ambrose Light Tower", or "Viewing Coney Island From Sea at Night"?:lmao:

no, only one - I shifted from the second night to the first night after I realized I had all three events on ONE DAY :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I love the excursions - they could sell seating at the rail for these, right?

We're concierge and we were able to book more than one Palo meal...don't know if there's a limit if they're available. Very funny with the excursions...gonna be kind of weird not getting off the ship.:)
nice perk - didn't realize that was part of it - you call someone, right? no online stuff for you!

I will. If you do the same....

I wonder if they will offer a rate?

What do you think?

Deal.

I'm not sure. It seems like they only offer TA rates on the sailings that aren't selling very well. Any idea of how quickly this cruise is filling up? I've had a few inquiries about it but no takers.

technically you can call shore side concierge and they'll do it for you, but we've always booked all our palo ressies, spa treatments and excursions ourselves because the window opens up at midnight and the concierge won't be able to book for you until the next morning.

Thanks for posting the Palo schedule, I can book at the 90 day mark, which is coming right up, not sure if DH and I will do this, but it's nice to know that they offer brunch, tea and dinner for us.

My favorite Palo memory is eating a shrimp cocktail shooter, and chasing it with a bit of vodka, like a good bloody mary.

I have to figure out when our day will be to book Palo's. We are silver so I may have to pay off the cruise sooner than expected!!:cool1::cool1:

@Kristin -- let me know the 90 day date when you figure it out -- l didn't realize it was coming up! And thanks for the mailers today -- we'll watch the DVD tonight! :)

Glad you got the DVD, you must have a great TA who sent that to you..;):lmao:

Hope the girls like the "crafts" from the girls.

Do we have a FB page for this cruise or our Turkey Day cruise Beth??:confused3:confused3

90-day mark should be March 17 - call before you celebrate St. Patrick's Day!
Pay-in-full day is April 1, so yep, you'd have to pay before then, and before March 17, to take advantage of the 90-day window.

Mindelmouse, is it more than one meal, or more than one dinner (which was my question) you can book with the on-shore concierge? I thought the pre-boarding limit is one of each offering - one dinner, one brunch, one tea , so three meals - subject to what's available when your booking window opens, whether it be 120, 105, 90, or 75.

Kristin, My twins have many questions to ask your twins about who is in the Harry Potter picture so I think a skype session is in order. No, I don't think there is a Facebook page for this cruise to nowhere but there is one for the Turkey cruise. I have no idea how to start a facebook page ...... so..... would someone else on this thread start one? I think it would be fun!

And, I see that Mindy is on this thread. Mindy, thank you for such great advice on Kim's Med trip report. I'm having fun reading it as you two go back and forth on your previous trip to the Med. I hope our paths will cross on this cruise to nowhere! And Kristin, Mindy (aka mindelmouse) has twins too! I keep seeing double wherever I go. :) :)

Thank you Ken for posting the silver dates for booking the extras!

Beth

Beth,

I can't believe we're on the same cruise here. This was supposed to be my surprise birthday cruise, but I found out about it. Kim and I are having a blast writing the pre trip report...we text everyday. I met Kim for the first time on these boards and we're like BFF's and we live across the country from each other. Please, Please find us on this cruise...would love to meet you. We're in 8100, it's a concierge handicapped suite - it's the same one we were in when we took our med cruise, so it's like going home so to speak.

Ken,

I'm not sure what the limits are...I know my DH booked dinner for my bday and the next day we have brunch. On our med cruise we were able to get what ever we wanted. The concierge never said we couldn't have it. I can't say enough good about them. We went concierge on our first cruise because we upgraded at the port and DH won't travel any other way. He loves the service. However, we couldn't afford to book concierge on our med cruise in 2013...it was 26k - so he's pretty upset...I think he's hoping he can upgrade for a lot less at port.

Will do, that is if we end up going on this! I still have a little bit of convincing to do with my DH before the PIF date. We are already going on a few cruises this year so something might have to give and it probably would be NY. It is a relatively short getaway trip for us, though, since it is just an easy train trip up from DC. So we'll see. But I'm planning for it anyway!

I know what you mean about meeting lasting friends on the cruise boards. I've met some incredible people -- like Kristin, whom I talk to a lot! Our children have really hit it off too ... Kristin's twins are kind of like big sisters to my two. And my friend Jeff (Pudo) and his wife, Missy, have become good friends, along with their daughter Sarah who is the same age as my twins. So a wonderful experience all around.

Regarding the FE...I see so far it is mostly adults -- would anybody be opposed if I sign my family up with the two kids? (sorry for asking but even on Disney some people get funny with having kids around!)

I hope there are still Palo's reservations available when I can book at the 90 day window, this is my husband and I's 5 year anniversary and we want to top it off with a dinner at Palos

These meet boards have provided us the opportunity to meet lasting friends. Our girls and our entire family have had such FUN!! Meeting so many AMAZING WONDERFUL friends that will be our friends FOREVER!!
