Hi all! SO excited DCL is sailing out of NYC next summer. I just booked this cruise on Tuesday :) I know it's still early in the game but I'm hoping some DISers will be on board! I will be cruising with my boyfriend Kris. I've cruised a few times before, once with DCL on the Wonder. Kris has never been on a cruise and is super excited about this! His birthday is June 20 so this will be a birthday celebration cruise for him. :) We're booked in an oceanview, which I've never had on any ship before, always inside. But the oceanview was only $100 more so we took advantage of it! Only 1 year and 2 months to go! I'm hoping it flies by!

Looking forward to cruising from NYC. No planes, yea! We live in a waterfront community and will be able to watch the ship come up the Hudson River. Hope we get great weather that weekend. Should be lots of fun!

We are on this sailing too. I'm so glad Disney is sailing out of NY, it will be nice having a 45 min trip to the ship, although I will miss the day or two pre cruise in Fla. We are also booked on the 8/17 Bahamian cruise.

But first up we leave for California next Sunday for the LA to Vancouver repo cruise with 2 days at Disneyland before the cruise:woohoo:

Awesome! Great view! Definitely fingers crossed for good weather that weekend...even though we're still over a year away! :)

I love that I don't have to get on a plane & I can just be dropped off or park at the pier. So easy!

Have fun on the repo cruise! I was just at Disneyland last weekend. My first ever visit, I had a blast. I also toured the Wonder in the Port of LA. It was so weird to see it NOT docked in FL! Have a great time!

Thanks for getting the thread going!
Was checking and found it before I started one.

We'll be joining y'all as well. HAVE to sail out and in to NY Harbor on the MAGIC, and this was the only date that worked well for us. UNLESS they open up the repo from Florida:thumbsup2

Let's hope the bookings go so well that they bring it back here in 2013 - with some more itineraries (BERMUDA, weren't you listening, DCL?)

Hopefully when the front page of the "FIND YOUR..." thread is updated, we'll get more DIS'ers coming by.

Welcome! Glad you found the thread :)

I love sailing out of NYC. Going past the city, the Statue of Liberty, and under the Verrazano is amazing. I can't wait, it's going to be so much fun!

It sure seems like the bookings are going well so far. People seem very excited about it. I'm sure they'll be back in 2013. And I agree with you about Bermuda!

Yep, it does seem like they're selling well - even at the price:laughing:
You're right, and coming IN to NY harbor is awesome. I'm glad they're using the Manhattan Ship Terminal, since you get to sail right up the West Side. We've cruised there on other lines, and it NEVER gets old - and I was born and raised here, and have been boating in these waters my whole life.

I've posted elsewhere SO MANY great itineraries from NYC - wouldn't a Transatlantic to or from here be cool? And then there's NY-sea-Bermuda(2nights)-sea-CC-sea-sea-NY (can you tell I like sea days;))

And I read all 17 pages of your 2010 TR - love your enthusiasm, and great writing. Glad you got to go to DL - that small size compared to WDW is something, isn't it?

I'm never awake when we come back to NYC. I've cruised to and from New York before on NCL and from Bayonne on RCCL. DCL out of NY will be quite the experience! Mickey meets Manhattan! :)

Transatlantic would definitely be great, as well as Bermuda. I love sea days too! I'd rather stay on the ship than be docked but I feel obligated to get off the ship and see the islands. :rotfl: You can't get me off the boat fast enough for CC though. Love it there!

Thanks! I couldn't believe how small Disneyland was! I just stood in front of DLP staring at the entrance of DCA like 'really? it's that close? is this right?'

I agree. A DCL cruise to Bermuda would be the best!

::yes::

Me and hubby will be on this cruise also. Just got off the 10Apr-14Apr Dream and booked while onboard.

Maybe Bermuda for 2013? RCCL has a 5 night that runs out of Bayonne to Bermuda and NCL does a 7 night out of NY. I think a 5 night from DCL would be perfect.

My wife, Lauren , and I will be joining you all!! This will be first our B2B cruise. We will also be doing the 5-Night Canadian cruise leaving on June 17, 2012!! These cruises are for my birthday and I can't wait!!

We are doing the opposite of alot of people. We will be flying up from Orlando!! :rotfl:

Daniel

Welcome Daniel!

When is your birthday? We'll be celebrating my boyfriend's birthday on the cruise as well. :)

Wow, this group is growing - guess the NYC idea might work!! Welcome, how'd you like the DREAM?

Maybe if these sailings go well, next year they will add in some Bermuda.
ABSOLUTELY - Pay attention, DCL:thumbsup2

Welcome, Daniel. That's a great B2B, DW has one more week of school so we couldn't book the second leg:sad2:
Love the "Bizarro" of coming FROM Orlando to cruise on the MAGIC. I wonder how many folks will be like you? Now it's back to packing - heading to WDW in the AM,:woohoo:

June 21st. The actual date will be during the 5-Night cruise, but this is going to be a week-long+ celebration!! :cool1:

I bet there will be a lot of people who do the same thing. Sailing out of NYC is an awesome experience. Have fun at WDW!!

Add us to the 2-day cruise out of NYC.

Our little group is growing :) Welcome!

His is June 20. Celebrating a few days early! :)

Anyone going with kids?

I booked this for the whole family (DD will be turning 9 on June 5th just before the cruise and at that time DS will be 7)

I think they will get a kick out of sailing from NY and going past the Statue of Liberty which they have so far only seen from driving over the Verrazano Bridge!

Can wait for the 2-night tease...I mean short getaway cruise!
