June 15 '08 Mexican Riv. Cruise

Well this is what Darlene and I have been doing at work today:teeth:

watching the ship go through the panama canal was amazing. After Europe that will be my next cruise.

Is it just me and my old age eyes :scared1: but doesn't the ship look a little empty? I would think the decks and balconies would be filled with people...maybe they're at the aft of the ship and I just can't see them. Just wondering...

The front of the ship was packed, plus there were lots of people on deck 4 and their balconies.

Just wanted to know when do we hand out the FE gifts? I thought it would be sometime before midnight but was reading on the other threads that some who have gifts for Pirate Night do it earlier or the night before so if someone didn't have pirate stuff, now they did?
Whatever you guys decide is fine with me...Thanks!:yay: :yay:

I was planning on doing mine in the morning. I usually get up pretty early but with two people doing them everyday I think the only day that matters what time we do them is Pirate Day (since we will want all of our stuff before the pirate partypirate: ). On my last cruise it was nice to come back to the room and find stuff at different times of the day.

Thanks! Since I have Pirate Night, I'll make sure I'm up bright & early ( or at least before 1st dinner :) )

That have a really good one on the main boards that you can use. Mine is really simple. I just put all of the important information on top (like Formal Night and ports of call) than I break it down by day and what I plan to do each day. I have two columns for me and DH with a small column in between for check marks. I type in everything I need to pack for that day including undies and jewelry this way when it comes time to pack I can make sure I have my complete outfits put together before I pack them. I can email you a sample if want...pm me your email.

OK back to watching the Panama Canal Cams.

You are way too organized! I'll PM you. Maybe I'll work in reverse. I need to go shopping. I was going to wear the same dress for formal night that I wore last year but I'm over it. I'll explain. The dress is 11 years old. I bought it for the first mini cruise we did for our 10th anniversary. I wore it then and to a few parties but then I.. well lets say that thing magically shrunk (hate it when that happens  ). Soooooo my goal for last cruise was to fit into the dress. I made it and it stiil fits but... So I have another dress, tried it on last night and it is too big. I guess I really want something new. I also need a new swimsuit (YUCK!) & shorts. I guess I'll shop and pack around what I buy!

WAXING!!!! isn't that a big ouch??? I guess I'm just a wimp. DD is trying to talk me into a couple of tanning sessions (just to get a base). She says I'm so white , no one will ever believe I live in So. Cal. I told her not to worry. If I don't do that I can always get that stuff in a bottle that ends up making me look like a California orange (:rotfl: ) She was not amused!!!

Thanks for the web cam pics. I couldn't get them up at work. The pictures were way cool!

D.H. is starting to think about it too. He just came down stairs with an arm full of old tee shirts. He cleaned out his drawer to make room for new cruise tee shirst he said! He then asked what was new on the boards. He finally has given value to my pass time!

DS is back to normal :yay: As a result I worked today. I'm glad he is better but I could have used today to watch the Panama crossing!!!!

Have a great night!

Gosh I wish I had your problem...I don't have one thing that's too big:scared: I am going to try on my bathing suits today and see what I can still fit my fat a** into. I am a little bathing suit obsessed (ok clothing, shoes and bags obessed too:rolleyes1 ) I usually bring one for everyday but I'm not sure enough will fit...guess I'll have to get a new one:woohoo:

A base tan is a really good idea. In November I got a pretty bad burn the first day and looked like a lobster on formal night.

Waxing is very painful but it means I don't have to shave for a whole week so it's worth it. The only problem is I have to stop shaving for the next month to make sure they get everything, so my legs and other places:rolleyes1 will not be too pretty:sad2:

Have a good night...will check in tomorrow.

Starting to pack today and Christine has got me working on my spreadsheet too ;) She does have it down to a science :thumbsup2 It's exciting to pack but I wish I was doing it from the "skinny" section of my closet...oh, well, maybe for the next cruise :rotfl: Now, secretkeeper...that's a great problem to have...if you lived closer, Christine and I would be happy to help you shop :goodvibes (my DD loves to brag that Christine is "her stylist"...although I love to shop, I'm mainly there 'cause I have the credit card :rotfl: ).

Next week is filled with end of year school stuff for both kids...so I know it will fly by and that means the cruise will seem like getting closer faster :yay: :yay: I've got my list of to-do's started for next weekend. I've been planning for months but now it's time to start checking things off my list :scared1:

Supposed to be over 100 today in Vegas  I'll just keep imagining the breezes from deck 10....aaahhhhh:cloud9: Christine...need a Deck 10 pic....thank you please :flower3:

I just asked DH if I could fly to Vegas to complete my vacation shopping and he said with as well as we've been communicating on-line he doesn't understand why we can't shop that way as well :rotfl:

Once again men just do not get it!

DH took Ds to do some shopping today but most is going back after I got a look at the prices he paid :scared1: I refuse to pay 25.00 for a shirt DS will wear to one dinner and that is it. I guess I'm just mean!

I told DD to start putting her outfits together. She looked at me and said "Mom, I don't even have one outfit I can take!" She must be freaking kidding. That kid has more clothes, shoes, etc... then anyone should. I tried to keep a straight face and said "just start pulling stuff together and we will see where we are at."

I'm glad the 4 year old could care less!

I hope evryone has a great week ahead! I can't believe how close it is getting!!!!

I don't feel bad at all now with bringing 5 pairs of shoes!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm going to have about the same amount of shoes and we're flying!! My DH is going to freak out...it's always fun dragging that much luggage on the metro and through the airport. We normally have so much luggage we have to clip them all together and my DH has to pull them and it really looks like baby ducks following their mom so we refer to our luggage as "the ducks". Its hard when you're going for 2 weeks, 3 locations, and there are many holidays and birthdays and graduations all at the same time. I think we have so much stuff that we're mailing a bunch of stuff to my parents before we leave.

I'm home with a sick 4 year old who is attached at the hip. I guess today will be the day to start making lists since he is ok with me typing as long as he is on my lap. All in all if he is going to get a virus I'd much rather it be now then a month from today! I also am going to make him his paper count down chain! I can't believe we are at that point!

That's such a good idea....I must remember tips like the paper chain when I have kids...thats fun!! (I almost want to make one for myself haha)

Yep, we are that close. I pulled out my luggage last night and start the throw some stuff in there:woohoo: :woohoo: . My packing list is almost finished, we will get some toiletry shopping done this weekend. I have to get a shoe holder, power strip and a night light since I will not have any light in my cabin:scared:

I have to say we are a little nervous sailing in a cat 12 since we have only sailed with a balcony...it should be interesting but hey at least we are on the cruise with you guys right. You're still going to give us fish gifts...right:confused3 I think they let upper class passengers in steerage:rotfl2: .

I'm with you. I'm a bit nervous about the Cat12 too as we sailed with a balcony last time too and my DH LOVED it. He's a big sucker (I mean that in the nicest of ways :) ) for upgrades at check-in though so we're going to ask and if they aren't outrageous we might do it.

we got our group palo reservatios...the 16th @ 1030. yeah!

I am posting from my phone so not very easy...

I will log on when I get home & post more.

Sounds great! That will be nice to do it so early so we can all get to know each other and easily pick each other out one the cruise the rest of the time.

This is a totally resonable request...what doesn't he understand:confused3

We'll likely do them in the morning too since we'll probably be getting up at about 3 or 4 in the morning!! I'm hoping we adjust to the time change quickly!! I'd really feel goofy going to sleep at 8 or 9 and getting up so early on vacation!!
