June 14 Easterns - St. Martin idea?

On our last cruise we stayed on the Dutch side shopping and spending the day at Gran Case Beach. Is it worth while to rent a car? Does anyone have any suggestions? Orient Beach, Pic Paradis? Is there any hiking on the island?

Ditto for St Thomas. We spent the day a Megan's Bay last time. Thought we'd rent a car, goto Megans Bay until it got crowded then drive and see some sights... Any suggestions for both islands are welcome.

At St Maarten we are chartering a 40 foot speed-boat through www.offshoresensations.com - they have had good recommendations on other cruise boards.

They will take you wherever you want to go (we are going to some secluded spots in Anguilla) at whatever pace you like - on half or whole day charters. They stop for snorkelling and lunch.

Has anyone else tried this?

It's pricy... $1000/day, $550 for half day. If we could find another family of four on the June 14th Eastern, I'd be willing to share the cost. Hello, June 14th Easterns?

We are planning on going on the Golden Eagle Catamaran in the morning in St. Martin, and either going to Megans Bay or Sapphire Beach in St. Thomas. We went to Coki Beach last time and really liked it...wanted to try another beach this time. REMEMBER JUNE 14TH EASTERNERS....We can book our excursions tomorrow (April 14th)...book early before they fill up!!
