June 13 2010 5 Night Bahamas - Double Dip

Wahhh!!! This is also our first cruise, and we tried to get Palo brunch as our special anniversary meal. I have checked every single day since my window opened, and still nothing :(

This is our first cruise, let alone our first DCL. We were thinking of not doing any excursions at CC and doing the Atlantis excursion at Nassau. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Also, what about Palo? I just can't see paying to eat when we get to eat for free on the ship. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Don't worry. I hear they hold a lot back to book as soon as you board. Keep trying! I 'm sending you some pixie dust!:wizard:

Thanks, I'll take all the magic I can get!! Will the transfers from Disney resorts get me to the port early enough to be there when they open the reservations onboard? Do people line up for that, i.e. should I get there before the time they open?

Hi, all...just wanted to drop a quick note to see if there were any last minute "stragglers" for the FE. If you haven't joined yet but wish to do so, please send me a PM.

As previously noted, I plan to send the lists out soon (hopefully this weekend). For those who've sent me their e-mail address, you'll be receiving an Excel spreadsheet, complete with staterooms and hometowns (if known). For those who haven't, I will send the list to you via PM here on DisBoards...the list will be similar to the one posted on 4/19/10, but will include the stateroom numbers.

Also, please mark down the DisMeet (all are invited, whether or not you're participating in the FE). Plans are to meet at 3PM in the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3 on the day of sailing (6/13/10).

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to "get this party started"!!!

Donna,

From all I've heard, I would take a stab at Palo...at least for brunch. However, being single with a 17-y.o., I'll have to wait until next year for that! ;)

With that said...even if you don't book Palo, I'd highly recommend that, on the first evening of your dining rotation, ask your serving team if they would be able to make arrangements so that you'd be able to have the Palo Chocolate Souffle'. We did this last year, and were able to enjoy it on the final night of our sailing. They do need a couple of days advance notice, which is why it's a good idea to ask the first evening. If you are a chocoholic, you'll be glad that you did it!

FE list has been sent! Please review and advise if there are any additions/corrections/deletions to be made.

Wow...it's May 1st...which means I can now say "NEXT month" and "Disney Cruise" in the same sentence!!! :cool1:

Thanks Drew. We went shopping today and quickly realized that a lot of the kids are older. Lots of teens and preteens.

Doing some "net" surfing, found the following information posted on castawayclub dot com. It appears that the last night's dining menu will be the "Til We Meet Again" menu that's used on the seven nights.

So, if that website is correct, our dining rotation will be as follows:

Night One
Port Canaveral
Rotation
Casual

Night Two
Castaway Cay
Rotation
Casual

Night Three
Nassau
Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirate

Night Four
Day at Sea
Rotation
Formal/Dress-up

Night Five
Castaway Cay
Till We Meet Again
Casual

:lmao: I have no idea what this means! :lmao:

The Disney ships have "rotational dining"...so, for those nights that have "rotation" on them, you'll be in one of three different restaurants...either Parrot Cay, Triton's, or Animators' Palate (depending on the rotation that will be assigned to you). You'll know your specific dining rotation when you arrive in your stateroom on the first day. Each "rotation" on the schedule below indicates that you'll have that restaurant's menu to select from...along with the "dresscode" for the evening. The "Pirates in the Caribbean" and "Til We Meet Again" menus are distinct menus. This thread:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2068966

has a sampling of the menus available (as well as other valuable tips).

My apologies, I sometimes forget that there are people cruising for the first time...or that I may sound like I'm speaking in code! :lmao: I guess my excitement is beginning to take over my brain.

I thought I remember reading that there was a dessert buffet on Pirate night. Isn't it late and outdoors (during fireworks)? I don't remember reading how the dinner menu is different that night.

I looked at that thread Drew and didn't see anything about a "Till We Meet Again" menu. They list a show but not a different dinner menu. Have you read any specifics?

If you go to the website:

www dot castawayclub dot com

it will have a link for the menus that are used on the seven night cruises, including the "Til We Meet Again" dinner.

Thanks!

Welcome aboard, Amanda! :cool1:

We had set an informal deadline of May 1 for the Fish Extenders, in order to give everyone time to shop. I'll add you to the list, hopefully everyone will not mind...and hopefully people still have some shopping to do. ;)

For all in the FE, I've updated Post #78. As soon as I have amc3007's stateroom number, a revised spreadsheet will be sent.

Thanks,
Drew

Hi-we JUST finalized our booking of this cruise and I was wondering if you were allowing other folks ( who are fashionably late booking their cruise :) ) to participate? We actually have two older teens in our family of four, so if we could participate with the "giving" portion but not the "receiving" portion, that would be absolutely okay with us. (Our 18 and 19 year olds won't mind a bit! )We didn't know about any of this (FE's or DISign magnets) on our first cruise-so we've got some catching up to do (on our door)...This is such a great idea, and we'd love to participate if possible, however, I totally understand if the list is final.

Either way, it'd be great to meet fellow cruisers from this board. Is there something along those lines we could participate in as well?

Thanks much,
Tracey

Sorry for the double posting...not sure what happened there. Please disregard one of 'em! :thumbsup2
