This should be the 4th and last post for this trip, so here we go!

I forgot to mention that the ship really started rocking last night. From what I heard, I guess this always happens leaving St. Thomas. I didn't go see the premire of 80 Days because for me, the rocking is the worst in the theater. I did end up by the adult pool watching the waves in it. I was actually kind of cool and calming.

Thursday, Day at Sea

Well, I had high hopes of doing lots of activities like I had in the beginning. I didn't get moving until around 10. The ship was still rocking at this time, so I did need to get out of the room. This is the second worst place for me. I'm ok sleeping, but to be in the room doesn't work.

So, off to the pool. It is another beautiful day and the wave pool is going full force. I never thought that I could be this lazy and sit by the pool for so long!! We spent from 10 - about 4 here today without doing anything but stopping for a quick bite from Pluto's. DH says that the brats sandwich isn't bad. He had originally brought me a piece of pizza. Now, I'm not normally a pizza snob, but this was so greasy I couldn't eat it. I went back for a tuna sandwich which was too bad, followed by a trip to scoops. They were also serving Ceasar Salad by the pool. I guess I missed this healthier option.

It was a lovely day by the pool and I'm glad I got the chance to do this because I would never have done this at home. I did go to the rainforest, but there were a few loud people in there so it was hard to relax. Oh well, they are on vacation too.

I was a little worn out from my day at the pool, so I watched Disney Dreams in my room. The swaying wasn't too bad and I was too lazy to get cleaned up. We had already decided not to go to the theater to watch it since we have seen it twice. It is getting a little sad because even though I know a beautiful day at CC is ahead, the cruise is almost over.

Dinner was very nice but our entire table (except the boys) headed off to bed.

Friday, CC

Ds was off to meet at the Stack at 9 for the wild side. They would be eating breakfast together. They do not need a parent to sign them off the ship at CC.

We ate a quick bite because we were in a quest for a hammock!! Unfortunately, ds in true form forgot his ticket and KTTW card. I had to find him at the stack. I find him chatting away without a care in the world. Gee, I want to be him. Oh wait, right now I don't have a care in the world either except to get the hammock.

Dh and I set off to line up. Last year on the Wonder we were off around 8:30. Well, I'm guessing since we are alot farther away coming from St. Thomas it will be a little longer.

We walk down the steps at around 8:50 and we are stopped on the steps at the 3 deck. Ok, Lets try the elevator to deck 1. We got on ok, but when we arrived at deck 1, they wouldn't let us wait here. Last year on the Wonder, we waited right by the door and we were the first ones out. Not this time!!

So up to deck 2, we figure it's better than the already crowded deck 3. About 9:20 we here that we are waiting for clearance to get off the ship. It is really crowded now, no room for anymore.
Finally, around 9:30 or so, the line starts to move, yeah!!!!

I figured it would take quite a while since we were packed in and people would also be coming off the elevators on deck 1 right into the crowd. But as you all know, the elevators are really slow!!! I actually suggested hitting the up button on all the elevators and punching all the buttons 3 and up!!! Afterall, I was there first!!! Just kidding!

I really did move pretty fast. Dh and I decided that he would carry everything and I would proceed at a brisk walk to the beach. Oh no, picture people!!
 They won't bother one person and it will slow the others down!! Ah ha!!

I also know to duck under the ropes when you get close to the area with the water equipment. It's much easier than trying to go around everyone. Ok, I'm there, the hammocks are almost all taken. Decision time. Do I take the one hammock that I have, or do I run down to the far end of the beach. No way!! I proceed to claim my prize.

Dh arrives, new dilema. Do we take this one hammock here or do we take two that are under the trees with no umbrella? We take the one with the umbrella. I don't want to be accused of chair saving, even though that's what I wanted to do for our tablemates who are loaded down with kids!

Dh is the first to snorkel. I was last year. He was in search of Barry the Barracuda. I found him first last year, swimming right under me!! I was all snorkeled out from our excursion days and too tired from my brisk walk!! Go Dh Go!! He was out for an hour.

But I use my time well, you guessed it, I went to shop!!!

He's back in, but not for long. He has filled his first card on his digital camera in the underwater box and he needs another. He is gone for another hour. I get a raft. Are these things really $12 or did I get charged for 2? I didn't look at my receipt at the time and I din't notice until my final bill came. Oh well, it's $ 6 extra and what's that when you look at the entire bill!!!

Ok, dh is back and we are off the eat. Typical BBQ food, I'm trying to be good so I don't load up. I do have an ice cream cone-cookie dough-yummy!

To the beach to relax. We run into our tablemates on their way to eat. The guys decide to snorkel after lunch, so dh needs a nap!!! After the nap, the guys are off into the dangerous sea of.......lots and lots of people!! I'm off to my raft to float past all the people to a quiet place. Remember, I've been at the adult pool all week, I will have to gradually work my way into a crowd with splashing! Oh the horrors!

What people don't realize is that the water is not deep pretty far out and they stay close to shore where it can get pretty tight. I make my way into the crowd and run into Chinamom3. We chatted a bit when I remember that she wanted to meet Mom2Belle&PeterPan. She is just a few feet away!!! We all chat for awhile. Our men have returned from their hunt!

Before we know it, it is 3. Mom2Belle&PeterPan's family have a date with a banana boat. Ok, vision of Verandah Man's ride!!!!We were going to watch them but we were suddenly out of energy!! Back to the ship!

I get cleaned up and start the horrendous task of packing. I have already done some, but this takes alot longer than I thought. Dh wants to help (well we all know what that means). I try to be kind, but I have to tell him to get out!!!!! You're in my way! I send him to find ds who we haven't had any visual contact with all day. I pretty sure he made it back on because of the wet bathing suit on the floor.

Finally, packed and dressed for the last dinner, I go to the atrium to watch the evening craziness begin. I had already done my tips pretty early on so I didn't have to worry about that.

Dinner was wonderful as usual. Adem had a number of mix-ups tonight, but he had a lot of help from us. Mom2Belle&PeterPan had brought a bottle of sparkling wine from their REAS package to share. I think Adem thought that is all we would be drinking. So he brought the kids their drinks. Well, I know I wanted one last Kaluhacolada with a kick. Others, were beginning to wonder about ordering drinks as well. We ended up all ordering at different times and some decisions were changed when one saw the others....

Gave out our tips, and off we all go to bed. Dh did take a walk around about 11, he said it was completely dead. He said that there were buffets out and music going, but no people!!!

This has gotten very long, so I will do another post for closing.

I am enjoying your trip reports! You have a great sense of humor that I, as a mother of a 14 year old boy, totally appreciate!

Thanks Lorie for introducing me to chinamom3 and her dd, it was fun to chat in the waters of CC with you all! I'm so glad that Bill got a hammock, and you were sweet to even think about chairs for us. We agree, NO CHAIR SAVING!!! What is right is right!

We had a grand day on CC, and it was even better sharing it with you all. Brian really enjoyed snorkeling with your Bill and Shelley's Bill too!

Ahhh, where did the time go?!

Hugs,

Barbara

Yes, the vision of the "boys" walking away from me with their snorkel gear is one I won't soon forget!!!! Especially since I have it on video. I wonder if Bill can turn it into a picture?

Lorie

When you figure out how to make a picture out of the video, don't forget to post it! I'm glad you've enjoyed yourselves.

Kim

Hey, Lori, I meant to tell yall goodby, instead of floating off into Neverland. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Castaway Cay. And I am so glad we got to meet you, Barbara, and your family. I think we were all a little tired by the end of the day. We, too, went back to the room around 4:00 to start packing. But, a definite good time was had by all!!
