June 12, 2015 Disney Dream 3-night

Hi Naneki! No, our grandchildren aren't with us in our cabin....they are in our daughter's cabin (Kromy 73).

I don't think I have ever planned and researched so much for such a short vacation in my life! But I am glad I did, now I won't waste the short amount of time we have on board trying to figure out the basics.

Question of the day: Did you do a lot of planning and researching?
Looking up things about cruises everyday and learn something new every time. I can hardly wait.

Question of the day? What cabin are you in and what type?

7678, Family ocean view with large port hole.

Got to get my question of the day in early, we are heading to Disney's HS for Star Wars weekends!

Enchanted Garden or Cabana's for lunch on embankment day?

Cabana's for us. I heard it can b crazy, but I want to start my cruise with a view, not being down in the hull of the ship.

Cabana's for us too. The grand kids are probably want to swim as soon as they can.

We like the Enchanted Garden to have a nice lunch before the Sail Away celebration.

Wow, 10 more days! Not sure I can come up with 10 more questions.

Ok, for today: What is the best tip you have received for this cruise?

Since I am a first time cruiser, almost too many to list. What to pack in carry on; bringing your own alcohol; tips for porters; magnets for door, not to pack shampoo & conditioner; pack pirate gear.......and many more, thanks to my fellow cruise DISers!

Hi! :hippie:
Since this is our 5th time to take this cruise, the best tip (lesson learned) is to come in the day before rather than leave the house at 5:45am and the kids exhausted by 9:00pm:guilty::listen:

Another tip.....make sure you are on Deck 11 at least 20-30 minutes before we have our "Sail away party" so you get a good spot for the kids to see the show. We like being on the deck overlooking the party. Also the drink of the day "libation" is always good and less expensive than a regular "libation drink".

I agree with you on tips but 1 tip I didn't see you post is your room key goes into a slot in room to be able to turn lights on.

:thumbsup2You are so right!! The room card in the slot is the only way you'll have lights/power plus the door card will also fit your lanyard to take it with you when you leave the room.
I'm also bringing my FE pocket holder in my carry on to hang up as soon as we reach our cabin. (Don't forget a zip tie to attach to fish hanger so it doesn't swim away!) Fish exchange prizes will be in my suitcase that we'll get later that afternoon. Might want to pack the kids swimsuits in case they want to have a quick swim before the sail away party and your camera. I pre-purchased a wine package rather than bringing our own. The kids can order a Mickey Mouse shaped ice cream bar ::MickeyMo(not on menu but you can ask for it).
Ooooooo, I'm so excited!:cutie::D:P:hippie::upsidedow

I read where you can use an expired/used gift card in place of the KTTW card in the light slot, that way you don't have to keep taking your card out of your lanyard, or whatever you are using. That is what I am planning on doing.

:cool1:SINGLE DIGITS, 9 DAYS!!!!

Question of the day: Sail away party, yes or no?

For me, YES!!! First time cruiser, so I don't want to miss it. Will most likely enjoy from deck 12, so that I can stand at the rail and wave to all the people on shore. Corny, huh?

Oh my goodness, I've been so busy with my FEs I haven't been checking in with you all!! I'm happy to say I finished packing all my FEs last weekend, but haven't packed anything else. (Priorities you know!) My DH and I are both teachers with our last day of school being June 10/11 so we're still in for the long stretch over here on the West Coast.
