June 10, 2012 Dream 5-Night Double-Dip

Hi everyone! Glad to see so many people! I would also like to do the FE exchange but really have no idea how it works since this is our first cruise.

PS--I added a roll call to the first post--did I miss anyone?

Hello, all! My family will be joining you on June 10! I just paid our deposit. :)

It will be me, DH, DS (will be 11) and DD (will be 8) from Ohio. DH and I took a non-Disney cruise back before the kids came along, but this will be our first time on DCL. I'm not sure if I can talk DH into the "fish extender" thing or not, but I'll try. ;)

I noticed there are a couple of 8yo boys who will be on the trip. Hopefully DD can meet up with them at the kids' club. She's always been more of a Star Wars/Buzz Lightyear/Cars kind of girl anyway (has never into the princesses.)

I am praying that we don't have a lot of snow next winter. My kids' last day of school is June 5, but if we use more than our allotment of snow days, they have to make them up at the end of the year. If we have to make up more than 3, I'm in trouble! (But I should have a pretty good idea of how many days by the time final payment is due.)

Welcome Design Mom!! Your kids are going to love it! When we first went my dd was 8 and you couldn't get her to leave the club!

Welcome design_mom! Glad to see more kiddos my son's age--they will have a blast! I hope the snow days work out.

Is anyone reading the Dream trip reports that are coming in? I hope that some of the crazy hoopla has died down before our cruise. I'm sure it will.

could you add the family stats in the roll call so we can see who all has kids the same ages as ours? That'd be awesome!:goodvibes

Sure! I took a stab at it, but please let me know if there are corrections because not everybody listed out who is going and ages. If there was info in a signature, I added +1 year to that age.

Thanks for adding the info to the roll call. Very helpful. (You got everything right for our family.) Thanks for managing it.

By the way, I'm Kim. I just realize that my real name isn't in my siggy.

Anyone going to be on the Dream sailing June 10, 2012?

So how is everyone handling all the Dream reviews? Liking the information? Freaking out about the mixed reviews?

I was researching our sailing for some family members, and it looks like that many of the categories are already sold out?!?! At least those that can handle a family of 4. And, the categories that are available cost a lot more than they did when I booked back in September. I think we're going to have a full ship!

It seems like DCL needs to work out a few kinks with the Dream. I have full confidence in DCL that they will do that. I am mostly concerned about the bad service being reported and the lack of trained CM's on the Dream. The reports indicate that CM's are being moved around on the different ships. With the Fantasy being introduced only a few months before our cruise, I wonder if CM's will again be shuffled around and we have a large amount of unexperienced CM's as well.

The good thing for me is that this is my first DCL cruise. I won't have anything to compare this cruise to! I am expecting this cruise to be an incredible vacation for my family! I'm so excited!

Same here--this will be our first cruise so we don't know what to expect or compare this to! I'm still super excited about it!

I am a little worried about the pools. Everyone is reporting that the pools are smaller and with more people on board, more crowded. They always seem crowded on the Magic now there are going to be even more people with less room.

Also wanted to say dd wil be 16 at the time of sailing. It is actually for her sixteenth birthday. :cheer2:

Welcome to all of our new cruisers!

We are busy getting ready to leave next Thursday for our 7 Night MR cruise on the Wonder. Super excited to be cruising Disney again, and my DS can't wait to check out the Dream!
