June 1, 2012 Disney Dream FE Thread!

Oh man - no documents for me yet!! Maybe they went to my TA or maybe I am just so far away waaaaaaaay out here in San Francisco!?

So happy everyone got theirs!!! :)

Great job fellow Dreamers - over 100 posts! This FE thread and the Cruise Meets thread will be great memories to look back on when we remember our cruise. :beach:

Experience from prior cruises is that Disney sends documents to TA. It is the TA's responsibility to mail it to their customers.

PS. I don't think San Francisco is far away. Its the place I was born! Enjoy going back there periodically. :goodvibes

Really!? A native who is gone! I find it so weird that my kids were born here... at this rate though, it is looking like we are never leaving. Which is ok - but I told the kids they have to go AWAY to college - somewhere else!! My dad was in the Air Force so I moved about every 2 years when I was growing up - it's so weird for me to think that my kids will likely spend their entire childhood in one place. :)

Yes, I emailed the TA and she does get them, then sends to me. I guess I will have to be patient!!

Got an unexpected day off today so I am going to the gym and then working on my FE gifts!!! :)

Small world. My father was also career Air Force and I attended 12 different schools in 12 years because of moving across country and overseas. My oldest daughter and her family live in Tennessee and my youngest daughter lives in Mississippi.

I moved to Texas seven years ago to take care of my aging parents. Prior to that my occupation required moving every three to four years. Still not used to staying in one place more than a few years.

All in all, I'm very thankful for being a military brat.

Side note: Kudos for going to the gym on your day off. I've upped my exercise regimen these past few weeks in anticipation of enjoying the cruise. :yay:

Yes, heading to yoga today too! Need to try to lose a few pounds that I will surely put back on during vacation! Hahaha!

I think it was great moving all around. It was hard at the time, but I think it made me stronger and more outgoing - you sort of have to be to survive that. I have no trouble at all jumping right into new situations. My sister is 12 years younger and lived in the same house since she was 5. Just turned 28 and finally moved (she had bought my parents' old house for awhile) - she has a lot of trouble meeting people.

When we finally moved out of our flat and into our house is SF 2 years ago, that flat here in SF was the longest I had ever lived anywhere - by like 4 times as long! 10 years in that place. :)

12 schools in 12 years - that is a bit rough though!! :) The plus side when you move a lot though is no chance to accumulate a bunch of junk!

Ok better get these children fed and off to school!!!

Hello, I joined the main thread and saw there was a "sub" thread for the FE
I see that it is closed for Late Comers,

But,is it okay for me to join if i just want to give and not receive?:goodvibes

I really enjoy going to each door and playing FE FAIRY!!!
and seeing the FE holders and possibly the door made up with magnets.

Just like the good book says ... 'It is more blessed to give than to receive'. Don't be disappointed if others don't reciprocate. Most of us already have our gifts completed and some have already packed them.

Thanks again for all the work/guidance for us newbiews.

who was the other person who wanted to do FE earlier? They could start a 2nd group with just 2 to start and then any of us could join too if we can...

Ok, so I'm just getting the details of our gift ironed out (I know - most of you are done already and here I'm just starting!) and want some input.

What I'm planning to do won't allow me to individualize them for everyone's character preferences. So here's what I want to know...

Which would you like more - a gift with a DCL theme and DCL colors (what would that be - blue, red, and white I guess) or a gift with Mickey Mouse theme and Mickey colors (red, black, and yellow)?

Call me patriotic - red, white and blue. :)

I like the DCL theme - since that is new for me.

HOWEVER, I love EVERYTHING Mickey.... so I really don't think you can go wrong either way!! :)

I just realized I leave for Florida in less than FOUR WEEKS so I need to get crackin'!

I did start my packing though - don;t make fun of me! :) I know it is going to be very stressful and busy around here in the next few weeks with school ending, and not being packed makes me very anxious. It's easy - we NEVER have a need for tank tops and shorts here in SF, so it's not like I am going to be missing the clothes.

I can;t believe it's so close. Maybe I should get off the computer and get to working on my FE gifts. I think on Thursday I am going to attempt to make the actual FE. Yikes!!!

Oh and for the two latecomers that wanted to play - if they start a new group I can do something for you guys... not all the stuff I made for the original - out of time and supplies - but I can make you guys something! :)

I am so glad that I am not the only one that has started packing already!!! With my daughter's graduation and my husband's return from Afghanistan when we get back from our trip...I wanted to pack as I go so I didn't forget something... :o)

I like DCL but I love Mickey! Whichever you go with will be a huge hit!

I just wanted to let everyone know that one of the FE gifts I have put together for you ended up weighing about a pound. I mention this because I just got in the mail the FE I ordered online, and it is beautifully made, but the ribbon holding it at the top is so thin that I think it would rip if I put my own gift in the pocket. So I'm reinforcing it with another ribbon.

I just wanted to make sure my gift doesn't hurt anyone's FE. I have also found it is a good idea to make sure your gifts fit in the pockets of your own. I have to tweek my gifts a little.
