And did you use points for your cruise?

Did you only get medical insurance?

I wanted to get insurance for our cruise, but when i switched from teh Halloween one to this one, i did not get it the day we booked so i was unable to get it through DISNEY, because of being in the non refundable time alredy.

SO noone else i found would give insurance on a "timeshare" trip.

PLEASE give me some info!!!!!!!!

Yes we are booked with points and I got just the medical insurance as opposed to the whole trip insurance, my choice and way cheaper. Reason being, I freak out thinking about "what-if" one of us needs to get helicoptered off the ship to a hospital or something like that...
I'm having second thoughts about getting the whole trip insured so I may change my mind later, but for now, this is a big load off my mind...
I believe the cost of the complete trip insurance was like $75 per person for trip and medical insurance together... cheaper than thru Disney which I believe is $99 per person.

I called my AAA TA and she got it for me thru Access America. It was $80 total for the 3 of us. And I believe she told me that you can get it up to a day or 2 before sailing... so you have plenty of time. Hope this helps.

Access America... I called my AAA agent and asked for Medical insurance for my trip. She asked if I wanted JUST Medical Insurance or to insure my WHOLE trip (trip cancellation reinbursement, etc) I said JUST Medical.

Yes, she knows me as I usually do my travel arrangements thru her, but she knows that I am a DVC member and that I am cruising on points.

I did mine through AAA also, and got the access america, it was really easy and quick. i went on the access america web site, and it took too long, but when you go to the AAA office, they have brochures and it's so quick. the kids were free. we insured our whole trip for 120.00 i think. they had a good package offered.

Yay! It's officially May! Whee!!!

We have never bought medical insurance for the trip but we did have to visit the onship dr one year due to DD getting an ear infection. They were GREAT! My medical insurance reimbursed us for the entire amount of the visit, but the visit wasn't expensive at all.. maybe $100 and that included her medication too!

In 06 while snorkeling on Castaway Cay, my son sliced his foot on the sunken ship or some coral or something, can't remember what it was, but it was pretty ugly. The ship's medical facility took care of him, cleaned it up and bandaged him up and gave him a tetnus shot. Only charged us something like $55 which I thought was SO reasonable that I didn't submit a claim. And on that trip, we had total trip insurance!
I'm not that concerned about one or two hundred dollars of medical expenses, what freaks me out is WHAT IF I or someone in my family has a heart attack or brain aneurysm something that the ship can't take care of and we have to be medevac'd off the ship, hospitalized and eventually have to get back home... from MEXICO!!!!! .
Those expenses are what I was stressing about.
But not anymore.

I had total insurance last year for our trip and will get as much as we can from Access America even if it is only the medical.

I am the same way SANDY i would hat eto have to incur alot of exspense from someone getting sick on board!

WHEE!!!!!!!!! I spent last night trying to talk my mom and girlfriend into coming along with us on a GTY room! I don't think I was successful though. My mom was all ready to book but my girlfriend was not. Boo hoo!

**Scrapbook Exchange - Paper, stickers, emblishments like clips, buttons, yarn, ribbon, and some really cool things that were especially made by the scrapper for our cruise for scrapbooking. I tell you, some people are VERY talented (not me) but we had fun chatting and looking at other peoples pages and got lots of ideas from everyone. You bring 5 you take 5 etc.

*Fish Extenders – We will be putting little things in them through out the cruise. Like, Paper, Pencils, stickers, etc. To do this we can use the list that Sandy will compile for the Mickey door magnet.

Fish Extender Gifts - This can be EVERY day or you pick a day to distribute all your gifts. There really is no set rule for gift-giving, it is up to you as to what and how much you want to give... each to their own accord. Right now there are not many DISers that have signed up so the roster is quite small... so we could do it everyday... if there are many more that sign up, then we could do it all on one day and just lump our gifts in the Extenders on whatever day you choose. Bear in mind that it is a lot of fun to find something in your extender EVERY day.
