JUN 06 2007 Magic - 10 day Mediterranean ( READ INFO POST # 1 )

here's my growing list of things:

• stop mail/newspapers
• get euros from amex (it takes my bank in down town chicago a month and a half to get them )
• get pop up hamper/ over door organizer
• make a door sign
• PACK!!!!
• call all cc and bank inform of overseas travel
• make copies of important documents and a list of all items going on trip
• clean off memory cards, charge batteries, find a tripod

oh and for anyone who is transfering through heathrow (or other UK airports) don't forget that you can only have ONE carry on when trasfering to your other flight.... so leave space in your bigger bag if you are taking two.

oh and don't forget to spread your cloths out... that way if one suitcase is lost one whole wardrobe isn't

OK...not quite in the know, but following DISboard tips, I went to Staples and got magnetic paper as well as some lime green paper. I'm a little confused as to why some are going to Home Depot for Lime Green Mickey Ears and opted not to make the trek (it's very far and there's no such thing as a quick trip to Home Depot and don't know where would you find that kind of stuff in Home Depot anyway...)

So what do I do now

I don't need to take any graphic arts classes to get this door sign made do I?? (looks like there are some pretty impressive door signs being made). This is just to help me find where I am staying on the ship, right?

And help me with the lime green ears? These are just to wear to meet up on Thursday? To pin on the shirt? Wear on the head? Dress my kids in?

I'm a novice here but willing to learn.

PS--I also bought my hanging shoe storage for Cat 11 room and nite light. Any other must dos that I need to get on in the next couple of weeks?

ok lets see the lime green lets other Disers know you are "one of them" (haha could you imagine approaching every 25 year old looking female and asking if they are FunnyBunny lol)...

i plan on wearing my lime green on the first night too, just in case i meet anyone.

otherwise i would just cut out some mickey ears... on the sign for your room you might want to put your dis name too that way people will know

I am going to home depot tonight.... i can try and get some extra lime green ears... its just because it makes it easier than tracing and cutting to have the ears already made. no reason other than that....

oh and since disney hasn't changed it yet... may room number is 6133... not much of an upgrade from a cat 12 but i think the position looks good. I hope that if they changed it between now and then its for something with a view.

Quickly watched most of it and it seems to be a snapshot of all of the ports and general info about the area - it is not indepth .It doesn't mention the Dis trips as far as I saw . It has a kiddies section , that was a simplified version of the adults section . Then it has a hints and tips section - unfortunately I haven't had time to watch that . I will report in if there is anything exciting on there !

disney has a paint line that home depot carries... and some of their paint chips are in the form of mickey ears.... one of which is lime green. you can use then for what ever you want but i got some other colored mickey ears to put magnets on and put on our door and some lime green ones to cut out and pin on me so people know i am a dis member....

I'm afraid my Polish is limited to Dobry dzień and Dziękują. My grandma was Polish and I traveled there one summer long ago with my college's Slavic Chorus. Went to Warsaw, Lublin, Krakov and Zakopane. Beautiful county.

I'm hoping to be at the Thursday meet and greet -- if it's alright to have a kid or two in tow.

We are cruising with you all 6/6/07 and have DD17 and DS14 - my daughter is worried she is a little old for the stack and won't meet any one of her age . Also to add complications she only joins the ship in Sicily because of exams and will miss the welcome meeting . Anyone have teens who may want to meet up with her !!

Yeah, we started getting our tickets today!!

On our one person that is getting on with us in Naples though, it still shows him boarding in BCN. Does anyone else have that who has someone getting on at a later port??? Just curious...contacted the travel agent and asked her to make sure he is good to go!! But how exciting, and yes, ours was delivered by express mail as well....

Academy tickets, done
Uffizi tickets, sold out!! oh well.....we all wanted to see David anyway....

Still waiting on vatican tour confirmations...anyone else waiting???? We are wanting to do the scavi tour, and/or a tour of vatican museums. We have submitted all the faxes, etc and I guess we just wait?????? I emailed again today just to see if they could give me any idea on how this process works for scavi tour. Is anyone else doing this???? On my other selection, they say fax them confirmation 7 days before the tour or else they cancel reservation. What does that mean??? We have a tour or not???? On the academy tickets and the pisa tower tickets, just as vague, but we now have confirmation on those two, and are on a wait list for uffizi. More i think about it though, really, I am ok without seeing uffizi!

Ok, so trying to study, get things ready for trip, for williams 7 week summer camp, and study some more. I can not concentrate for one second, ugh, darn this trip!!!

If anyone has experience with vatican museum reservations, please let me know!!!

And on monte carlo, is anyone interested in doing a group thing to the casino in the evening?? Doing the train/bus over there!???? Just curious....

Thanks so much for adding us and believe me I know how busy you must be because I know I have a million things on my list to do. DH is out of town for 6 days and we leave on the 29th.

We are first going to Roses up the road from Barcelona for 4 days, then to Barcelona for 3, the BOAT... then off to Warsaw, Bialystok, and Krakow Poland.

I can't wait to leave just so all the prep work stops.

I'm sure my DH will have some questions. He's been over 2 times. Once to Gdansk and another time to Warclaw. His family is from the Biaylstok area and we are hoping to catch up with some relatives with Pictionary. We don't really know Polish.
