I have 2 email accounts and have only received pins in one. I have gotten some in the mail over the years but never any I can use. I think since they extended free dining date till DEc. their numbers must be down. You will probably see an offer after the first of the year. Also we never see a bounceback in our room! What's up with that too.
I have four email accounts registered with Disney. One in John's name, two in my name and one that includes my maiden name. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that some sort of discount is offered for our 2012 dates.
I wondered about this myself. I think it's why they always ask "How many times have you been to WDW?" and then ask you when your trips were. My guess is regular visitors who've had more than 5 trips in the past "x" years are bumped out of the PIN database...
On two of my accounts, I said that we had never been in the hope that would make them send us a pin or something.
Wow! I can't imagine going the entire day without getting any kids at the door Trick or Treating! For the last 4 years I've kept track of how many kids stop by and this year we had 159. (I'm kinda a geek for putting things in spreadsheets. My wife thinks I'm NUTS!)
The new car sounds Fantastic! ENJOY!!!
A lot of our local churches have what they call "Fall Festivals" and most kids go to those instead of going trick or treating. Wow! 159 trick or treaters! That's a lot!
Hi Lisa,
Just a guess here but you might not get any PIN codes because you're such a regular visitor to the World. I just finished a week at DW on Sunday which is my first trip since '07. I looked at my old e-mails from Disney and found that since the beginning of this year I've received 14 different messages from then with PIN codes. There were a total of 5 different PIN codes in those messages. I booked my trip in mid-January and received 13 messages with codes in them since I booked the trip.
Maybe they don't send you any PIN codes because the know you're going to show up there even if they don't send you one.
That's what I am thinking. John wrote a letter to Disney the other day letting them know his thoughts and concerns over the rising price of our vacations and the fact that Disney seems to do nothing for those of us who are loyal Disney fans. I should post a copy of it for ya'll to read.
I can't believe that you've gotten so many pin codes! That's amazing! My mother has gotten two...once before she ever went with us and then one just the other day.
Exciting news about the new car!!! I'll feel better knowing you have a reliable vehicle when you go out to visit Lacey and Jesse or you are off on one of your road trips!
At our former house, we only had 1 family of Trick or Treaters in 12 years- the year we moved in- they wanted to meet us. We are now in a very large neighborhood (read: great place to ToT) PLUS we live on the border of a city that ToTs on beggar's night (the night before Halloween) so we have the minivans lined up at the end of our street.
We have gone through 2 large Sam's Club bags of candy some years. The past couple of years we have had a lot fewer Trick or Treaters.
Too funny about Mama getting the pin! Too bad it wasn't one you could use!
I'm excited about the new car....it's the car note that I'm not so excited about.
Wow! You get a lot of trick or treaters. We've never gotten many but at least we get a few, with the exception of this year.
Congrats on the new car!! Hopefully now you won't have to struggle quite as much to get your luggage loaded for your road trips!
Your PIN code issue reminds me that I have to create a Disney account for my mother, in the hopes that she gets one we can use. I know we're planning on heading out around late Feb, and the dates that I think work for us are dates that don't have any kind of discount on them now...
I was surprised at how much room the new vehicle has for our luggage and what-not.
I spoke with a castmember the other day about my mother's pin code and mentioned that I had never received one. She said that their marketing department looks at the list of those who order vacation planning DVDs and customized maps and sends out random pins. Well, that certainly doesn't work for me because I've done both every year.
Congrats on the new vehicle! Now you will no car troubles on your trips...I hope
Thanks! I'm very happy with our car choice.
I know how you feel concerning the pin codes. MY DH and I go every year to WDW and didn't receive any codes , but once. We took some friends last year and they have received a total of 7 pin codes. They received 4 before we even left and 3 so far this year. Why is this happening? Its not fair, but WDW has always been so nice to us cause we celebrate our aniversairy every year there. We got married there and this year will be 15 yrs and we r still like newlyweds. Like you and John we love the place and can't get enough. Your daughter's wedding was so nice and everything was beautiful. I enjoy reading your trip reports and hearing about all that goes on in your family. So keep up the good work.
Doesn't it make you feel sick to your stomach to know that there are so many out there that gets pin codes but those of us who are faithful to the Disney brand seem to get zilch?
Awww, I love that you got married at WDW! We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at WDW in 2009 and thought there was no better place to celebrate.
Thanks for the compliment on the wedding. It was very hard to put together an entire wedding and reception when we lived about 10 hours away from the venue. But, in the end, it was all worth it.
A new car...VERY exciting!
I know! I love it!
