My wife and I have an anniversary trip starting July 17th. We still have it booked and will not cancel until we are forced to do so. Sadly all any of us have right now is pure speculationHave a trip planned for the end of July and it's getting close to my FP window. Should I pull the trigger and go ahead and purchase tickets and continue to be optimistic that it will happen? TIA
This right here, we had already purchased our tickets but are stuck until we know if Disney is opening up or not in July or how long they are extending their date based tickets for July if needed. We purchased from a third party before all this started, don’t do that if you think you will want a refund and not just a credit.I would just make sure you get your tickets from someone that can refund you if the parks aren't open. There was a thread on another board where CMs were advising people not to cancel their mid May vacations, so that's hopeful.
Can you afford to have the money tied up if it gets canceled? You have a few possible outcomes:Have a trip planned for the end of July and it's getting close to my FP window. Should I pull the trigger and go ahead and purchase tickets and continue to be optimistic that it will happen? TIA

I would definitely wait. Your FP window for end of July will not open until end of May. That is over a month away. Right now, we don't know when WDW will re-open. It can be in June or it can be in 2021. Hopefully by a few days before your FP window opens, we will have more clarity either way.
.I am planning the same thing. I will go whenever I can if they’re not open in July so I know I’ll use the tickets so buying them won’t be a big deal. But I think I’m going to go ahead & book a package so I can have the tickets on it that way.Have a trip planned for the end of July and it's getting close to my FP window. No one knows. I don't really think it will be 2021, but I acknowledge that it is a possibility given the non-essential nature of Disney. I don't think they will open when many other businesses will have reopened. I think June 1st through 2021 represents a fairly good 95% confidence interval.I agree that no-one knows; it's all speculation/shooting in the dark. But if DisneyWorld is unable to re-open until 2021, that means all of the U.S. will likely be suffering from catastrophic economic ruin that will have 50+ million (or more?) Americans and countless businesses of all shapes and sizes in "beyond dire" straits, if not closed forever. It would take a minimum of a decade to recover from such chaos.
Horrifying speculation, however, is not really productive for my personal psyche; let's just take it a week at a time. My most recent "hopeful" mark has been a return to a "significantly modified new normal" by Memorial Day. And, of course, my greatest HOPE comes on Easter Sunday.

If you are interested in speculation, I invite you to the Rumors board where everyone is speculating whether it will open June 1st, sometime in late summer, sometime in the Fall or next year.

Warning! It's a bit of a rabbit hole. But, I also need something to pass the time. And you get all the different perspectives in that thread. Thanks I need something to pass the time these days!

I would not buy tickets right now.
The IMHE models show Florida not even needing a bed, let alone ICU beds by June 29th. I would say that July is very much on the menu.
The Coronavirus task force was using the IMHE models in their press conference. They used this model to come up with the national policy we're living under. I'd be willing to feel optimistic about what they say.I would ONLY purchase tickets if:
- I would use them in the near future if my July trip was cancelled (would you plan on next summer then)
- I knew my job was secure
- I was staying onsite (so that way if parks have very low capacity I know I can get in)
Models are typically built on keeping the current state of things or increasing precautions. Most will not account for the reduction in restrictions and increase in travel especially to a larger tourist area like Florida.
