July Trip Sprinkled Pixie Dust: Twins, Minivan & DVC 10/4 - The last day!

Hugs for you and your dad!

What a great morning! We have done the video game on a previous trip, and the kids had a lot of fun! It was very cute to see the end result.

Mmmm, that Grand Marnier slushie looks so good right now! :thumbsup2

 Thank you.

I haven't followed days--your trip must be so soon! Are you ready?

Completely understandable considering what you're dealing with right now:hug:

We leave Friday morning and yes, things are actually coming together.....I got so much done yesterday and today, so hopefully I won't be racing around on Thursday evening!

Thank you Wendy.

I promise that I will finish this trip report! I am going to set a goal to have it completed by end of Sept!

My dad passed on Tuesday, 9/14. My older brother and I spent the night. My mom was holding my dad's hand when he passed. It was early in the morning and my brother and SIL were able to arrive within ten minutes of our call.

We had the viewing Thursday and played Jimmy Buffet, and the funeral was Friday. Really, we were unbelieveable composed. Someone told us we were remarkable (or something like that). I thought that was much better than how I just thought we were weird. :)

So without too much ado, (because I will have more time once I get caught up with school work - my plan tonight), I will be back with a post in a day or two.

So sorry to hear about your dad's passing. It's so great that you all are at peace with his passing and that he was surrounded by family in the end.

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

I am excited to write about this night!

First, we ate at the Garden Grill. We hadn't eaten here before and decided to give it a shot. I am glad we did. DH and my girls loved the food...I enjoyed some of it.

Gotta love those characters!

Our only picture with Mickey from this trip...DH said he was a bit impatient - I was oblivious!

I didn't take dinner shots... the food was good but not very photogenic - that is until the dessert...

Mickey "Mousse" Cookies and Cream:

I took a shot of this because it was a nice change to the typical Disney dessert - not that I don't love the typical but...

The menu from allears.net

*Warm Breads with Maple Butter - YUM!
*Harvest-inspired Farmer's Salad - YUM!
*Char-grilled Beef Strip Loin with Herb Sea Salt - TASTY!
*Roasted All Natural Turkey Bresat with Cranberry-Orange Relish Family LOVED!
*Sustainable Fish of the Day with a Florida Citrus Crumb - ??don't remember- DH doesn't remember what type of fish, but said it wasn't this.
*Garden Fresh Vegetables - YUMMY!
*Smashed Potatoes- DELISH!
*Turkey Dressing - Good, but again - a Thanksgiving food to me...
*Freshly Baked Strawberry-Rhubarb Crisp with Hand-Whipped Vanilla Bean Cream- This was good, but not my flavor ?

Overall, this meal was very good. We would go back again; I think I will put it on the list for the summer trip.

After dinner, we posed at Test Track - as DH said, they are making it harder and harder to take a pic of the pic!

As I said in my daytime post, I didn't take good notes...so we must have hit some more rides before heading back to the Beach Club. We had big plans at The Beach Club for the night!

So that would have been cheap to leave you there...

Our big plans were actually at Beaches and Cream for a Kitchen Sink and a whoooole can of whipped cream! It was a ton of fun to order this. Beaches and Cream is adorable and a great spot to have family time! I think the pictures will speak for themselves.

DH felt that the kids let him down. I just asked him and he said, "The kids punked out on me." I thought they did fine. Besides it was about the experience; DH is too competitive at times! :rolleyes1

I am sorry to hear that you lost your dad. I am glad you are doing well.

I think you all did a great job with the kitchen sink!

The picture of the four of you with Farmer Mickey is very cute! Reading the menu I just don't know if my family would ever agree to eat at Garden Grill. They are so picky sometimes. :(

Love, love, love the Kitchen Sink pictures!!! What a fun way to spend the evening, and it looks like you all came awfully close to finishing that huge bowl of ice cream! :thumbsup2

"A whole can?!" :lmao:

That's awesome! We ate there for lunch once and sat at the counter. It was so crazy watching those being made. I think you guys did quite a number on that sink!! Way more than I would've thought....

Great TT pic! Your DH is right, they really do a good job of ruining the picture of a picture!

Jackie, that is so funny because I think it is the most normal food on property...they are the foods we eat for dinner. :lmao: The salad and veggies couldn't be beat. (I don't like Prime Time, though, because I have no interest in eating meatloaf not made by myself or my mom. :confused3)

DH and the girls LOVE ice cream- I helped with the brownies mostly!

I bet some fancy editing could fix Disney's signage! :cool2:

I plan on posting another day tonight...:dance3:

So much fun! I'm definitely going to have to try that Kitchen Sink!
We did Garden Grill for breakfast YEARS ago and really enjoyed it! :thumbsup2That's the one that rotates, right?

We woke up and headed to Hollywood Studios for EMH. Lovely view to head over.

I used DVC fastpasses to get Toy Story Mania Fastpasses (which were for immediate use!)

I think DH won, but I don't recall. (If I won, I would recall. :rolleyes1)

We also picked up regular FP for RNR. I mistakingly took flash photos before loading. oops...didn't realize the annoyance of that!

Realizing the time, DH ran off to check us out of Beach Club. I took the girls to get candy apples with the plan to meet back at the hotel. (They were set to get braces upon returning home...)DH didn't really get there too much sooner than us. He was late checking out, which wasn't a problem, but we don't like to cut it so close.

We packed up the car and headed to Boardwalk. On the way, we realized that we didn't have my and DH's pillows. (Problem because in my pillow case is my travel blanket; the blanket I have owned since preschool and bc DH has a Temperpedic pillow.)

I called BCV and they had to look--told me to call back. DH turned around and went to the room, but the pillows were gone. He went to the desk and recovered them. :yay: :yay: :yay: So we were again on our way to BWV!

I didn't do online check-in for BWV...and our room was not ready. Bummer, so Hannah enjoyed her treat from earlier (until she had a massive meltdown later and we made her toss it...ahhh memories.)

945591465_qRKzZ-M.jpg

We walked over to the Boardwalk Bakery to pick up lunch - this will be a place we frequent often in the future!

Their peanut butter cake was the BEST dessert in Disney!

945591400_tr8Je-M.jpg

Then, our room was ready! We had reserved a Boardwalk view, but had no idea what exactly that meant in terms of a VIEW!!!

This shows the "dirt" on the "ball" that was upseting to Nikki. Nikki, did you ever find out what it was???

Up next the room itself...

I can't wait to see your pictures of the Boardwalk room! I really, really, really want to stay there! I think that may be my next dream resort!

Oh my goodness! That peanut butter cake looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

How did Hannah manage to eat that huge apple?! That looks like quite a task. I would love to stay at the Boardwalk.

I just caught up and read your entire TR so far - I am loving it! popcorn::

First, your twins are precious! And we have the same sunflower shirt! :goodvibes

I love that you were able to experience a few different places while you were there and I marvel at the ease of the transitions - with excpetion to the BC but it all worked out!

Cant wait to hear about BWV!! :yay:

I hope I do as well with my TR as you are with yours!

Just read your TR and LOVE it so far!! Nice to know my family isn't the only one that has meltdowns at the happiest place on earth! :). Sooo jealous of all the great resorts you get to stay at being DVC owners...I think we're doomed for All Star the rest of our trips...oh wait...until that new resort opens...can't wait for that!

Can't wait for an update!:thumbsup2

I totally wish I could have a piece of that cake now... I hope my pics don't dissapoint. I forgot to take pictures before we "moved" in. Also, it is a DVC Studio, so I think the cash rooms are nicer. (I thought our room was very nice, though!)

She didn't. She ate much of the candy and ate a couple of bites, but her behavior amounted to me tossing the darn $9.00 thing. I didn't mind buying it even at that ridiculous price because a year of braces made me feel bad for them. (However, they have been great about them.) Throwing away $9.00 wasn't wonderful either, but the messiness of it helped that.

Boardwalk was very nice. Not sure it is my favorite location, but the resort was wonderful!

Thank you so much for all of your kind words. I am glad you are enjoying it. Writing it turned out to be a larger undertaking than I realized. It was great to stay at different places to experience them. If I hadn't overpacked, moving wouldn't have bothered me at all.

I want to go to Food and Wine one day, if I remember correctly, your trip is then. I look forward to hearing about your experience.

The blue/gold shirt? Are you addicted to Target too? haha

Thanks for reading. I get very frustrated by those meltdowns, but hey, when I am in Disney, I seem to handle meltdowns better.

I am very thankful that we could buy DVC. It must be tough with triplets due to Disney's room occupancy rules. I've read about many people renting DVC points, which might be a great option for you. You can stay at a DVC resort for the same as a value. We only went to Disney twice before DVC (the once in a lifetime trip to Poly and the 6 months later, we can't stay away at CSR) so we didn't have a chance to stay at a value. I think Pop looks cool and my girls would have liked it.
