To anyone who has sailed in July, are we making a mistake? Is it going to be to hot and humid? We sailed Oct 2004 and the weather was great :sunny: Should we rethink our sail date? Any advise would be helpful and great!!

Also, when are the countdown clocks going to be working again?

Thanks :wave2:

We have sailed in July, and loved it. Of course I have no idea what it is like to sail in October, so I am very interested in how warm it is at that time too.
In July it was very very hot and humid. There is a breeze on deck, but it is very humid too. We had veranda's and my twins have wavy hair, and would NOT have the veranda door open if they were straightening their hair! Also, we kept the door closed because it heated up the room, and our air conditioning didn't work all that well. We have only been to Florida in the summer time, and we always enjoy it. We live in CA, and the humid/tropical like feel of Florida and the Carribean made us feel like we were somewhere different. The funny thing about humidity is that when we first take a breath outside the airport, it takes us off guard and we need to used to breathing. Kind of like a hot steamy shower feels to someone who is NOT in the shower. LOL We told my MIL last trip not to worry, she would get used to it, because she kept saying she couldn't breath at first. She did get used to it in a matter of minutes...and now is a BIG fan of Florida. Even in the summer!!!!
How is it in October? :3dglasses

Also we took a ruins tour in Cozumel and it was really really hot, and there were alot of bugs. We have decided to not do any excursions that do not involve water if we cruise in the summer months. Tours where you stand, and listen to tour guides are difficult in such humid hot weather. Take water with you, and a fan! Paper fans are a huge help!(I had a round one, on a bamboo stick) I brought the one I bought in the Japan area at Epcot to New Orleans with me last summer, and went NO WHERE without it and will bring fans with me to Mexico. We have been considering ordering some from Oriental Trading Company to pass out to our big group this summer. :wave2:

Thanks for the info. :flower: The weather in October is great. It is hot but not humid with a nice breeze. The water is just the right temp. :sunny: We took the Eastern cruise and St. Martine's beach was awesome. The water was so warm and beautiful. Same with St. Thomas. We took the excursion to St John, Truck Bay. It was like being on a post card. :cloud9: The view was the most beautiful view I have every seen. I would highly recommed going in October. The only reason we aren't going in October is b/c my DD will be a Senior and I really don't want her to miss school for a week. But as I sit here writing this, I'm almost tempted to change our cruise date. :confused3

Again, thanks for the info :wave2:

We did a land/sea last July. The land portion was pretty miserably hot and humid, but the sea portion was pretty nice. It was really hot in Nassau and I was miserable, but the only thing we did there was walk around the straw market for a little bit and go to the Pirate Museum. Once we got back on the ship I was fine. I don't know if it was breezier on the ship or the Planter's Punch making me not care so much anymore. I think either time you go you will have a blast!

I am a fan of the Planter's Punch!
I wish I could cruise in October. I would love to do the Eastern Route. I will have to work on that! Very Very hard with the kids in school. High School is almost impossible to miss. Jr. High isn't much better. I usually can only go in the summer. I dream of going in the fall!
