July... How hot is it really?

Thanks everyone! Humidity is the worst, I step outside and start sweating lol. I basically live in workout clothes in the summers, so that will be perfect attire for me! I have some cool towels I use for the gym, the kind where you wet them, snap them and then they're cold, so I will definitely be bringing those. I hadn't accounted for the extra body heat surrounding me, I will definitely be seeking cover in the A/C often :)

Turn your oven to 450 degrees, place a bowl of water in it until it steams, then stick your face in the oven. That would be just about right! it doesn't keep us from going though!

Haha! Thats a good comparison to where I live :) Definitely HOT!

Kinda like this. ;)

Dan

Haha, I love it!

July at WDW is "Three Showers A Day Hot".:)

Yikes lol better plan for extra time at the resort, then! lol I always carry deodorant in my purse, and plan on carrying some body wipes as well, I don't want to be one of the stinky ones!

I live in NC and find Orlando summers very comparable to what we have here. It's usually in the upper 80's or 90's with high humidity. The humidity makes the heat feel worse, but a disgustingly humid day at Disney is better than a non-humid day at home. Between the AC in queues, indoor rides and shows, shops, restaurants, transportation, etc. it's never bothered me much. I just dress accordingly and drink plenty of water.

Any weather at WDW is always better than the weather at home :) I'm excited to be there no matter how hot it may be! I have been training more in a gym with no A/C, wearing headgear, shin guards, etc. (I train MMA) preparing myself for that extra heat! lol Those things make it pretty hot, but I'm still thinking WDW is going to be much hotter! lol

Here in Orlando we have been in the high 80s and low 90s since early April. It is unseasonally warm. Also, we have been at or above 100 degrees with the heat index (humidity factor) for over a month. It was 115 last Friday with the heat index. Hit the parks early, break mid afternoon, hit the parks again at night. Pack extra sunscreen and deoderant and make sure you stay hydrated!

My husbands family is from South Texas near Brownsville. I think the weather in Orlando in July is comparable to the climate there. It's very hot and muggy - same as South Texas. Since that's what you're used to, it won't be much of a change - except for the daily afternoon rain showers.

Awesome, I live about 2 hours from there! So I'm sure the weather is close. I have been getting a taste of those showers lately, it was raining so much our lake and river flooded, and those have been low for years now! Since it rains so much, how are the mosquitos? Should I bring repellant?

I would pack bug repellant if you intend to do any resort wandering outdoors. We went to FT Wilderness Mother's Day Weekend and grilled out at the Meadows. We were eaten alive even with spray and candles. However, that was the first time I've ever had bug issues at WDW. I'm guessing it's harder to control in the fields/more woody areas of some of the resort locations.

I will pack a mini can for my bag just in case :) We are going to one of the water parks and will likely explore some of the resorts, and I hate getting eaten alive! lol

I went one time in July, and it was hot hot hot! And humid humid humid!

Even the backs of my knees sweated! lol

I'd never go again in July.

its hot and humid and it rains....and I love it! hey i'm from Canada any chance I get to defrost the better. DW and I don't do well in the heat however the AC is turned up everywhere and stay hydrated with water. Enjoy the magic!

I heard it described as being in a bathroom with 100 other people with the shower running. That is pretty accurate. very humid 100% of the time with no relief.

Oh, God! That's a scary description!!! I'm going 08/28 - 09/7. I've been in late Sept/early Oct 2x, and one trip saw records highs. I remember feeling like I was going to pass out in World Showcase one afternoon, and literally dripping sweat while watching LMA at DHS.

Yeah, the world showcase is like you are literally walking on the surface of the sun. There is little shade and the sun is just relentless. When we were there last August, it was hot and crowded. We were heading to the WS and one of the workers called out. "welcome to the sunny side of Epcot!"

Hot, humid, and miserable (horrible). You won't see me there in the summer, but I tend to pick vacation places and seasons to travel for glorious weather. Now water related activities are fine -- pool, waterparks, and the ocean is actually warm.
