Hi, everyone! I have been looking at some of the average highs and they're saying high 80's tops at the present time. I live in South Texas on the coast and its averaging in the high 90's right now. I'm trying to prepare for the heat as best as I can, knowing how hot humidity can make it outside. Do you think it will be about the same as here or do you think it will be hotter? Thanks!

If you're somewhat accustomed to that weather, which it seems like you are, then you'll be fine! It's definitely hot as hell, but everything has AC. I tend to wear workout clothes because they breath easy and dry quickly.

Good luck! You'll have a great time.

Definitely hot and HUMID BUT plan accordingly, stay hydrated and it's completely doable!

Factor in the mass of bodies and the blacktop...I think it is hotter. I'm from SC, used to high 90s and 100% humidity but Disney in July is brutal. It doesn't stop us though! We will be there July 19.

This. But if you plan on at least a few afternoons poolside, then you'll be just fine.

We are also from SC and we live near the coast. Since I'm a teacher, almost all of our Disney trips are in the summer. Yes, we're used to the heat, but at home we don't spend all day outside in the summer. Plus, Orlando is very landlocked, so you don't get the nice breezes we get at home. Between the lack of air movement, the crowds, and the pavement, it can get to be really unbearable, however, we find ways to stay cool and have a blast. One word of advice, pack two outfits for every day. If you go back to your report and take a break you're going to want to shower and change clothes, trust me! We'll be there in July too, so we'll be sweating right alongside you :)

I went last July and am going again this July 11-19. It is very hot. Standing still I was dripping sweat (which I like as I am on dialysis and am normally allowed only 32 ounces of water a day but down there I could drink freely). Be prepared to sweat. Though I will say the rides are generally shaded where you wait and they do have fans. Also any place they have fountain drinks, they will give out free water. And don't worry about the quality, it is the purified water they use in the soft drinks, it is NOT tap water.

Very, very hot. Sounds like you are used to that weather though so you'll be fine. Just stay hydrated and enjoy those indoor air conditioned attractions. It's particularly frigid in the hall of presidents lobby. Have fun!

I live in NC and find Orlando summers very comparable to what we have here. It's usually in the upper 80's or 90's with high humidity. The humidity makes the heat feel worse, but a disgustingly humid day at Disney is better than a non-humid day at home. Between the AC in queues, indoor rides and shows, shops, restaurants, transportation, etc. it's never bothered me much. I just dress accordingly and drink plenty of water.

I am from South Florida, used to heat, and agree with PP that the blocktop and the crowds make it so much hotter. BUT I thought those people with neck cooling wraps were nuts till I made some. They saved our trip last July and I cried when I realized on the last day I left them in the fridge in our room! They made such a difference. They don't stay cold, but stay cool compared to the air and absorb the cool when in the air conditioned places and hold it for a bit outside too. They help! Also agree with the other PP who said athletic clothes! Yes, especially golf/tennis clothes that are made to block the sun. My golf shirts are my new go-to Disney-wear for the summer!

I go in Sept, so don't mind the heat. But the crowds in July combined with the heat - that, I hate. All of those sweaty people so close. In tight areas where Disney packs us in like cattle, the smell can be awful.

Turn your oven to 450 degrees, place a bowl of water in it until it steams, then stick your face in the oven. That would be just about right! it doesn't keep us from going though!

I live/work on a farm in the south and my house does not have a/c. WDW in Juy/August can still kick my butt. It's a different *kind* of heat. AK is the worst by far, followed by MK.

I can never understand people with BO. especially early in the day. If there is a medical situation or someone has serious allergy issues, understood but some poeple just don't like showering.

My husbands family is from South Texas near Brownsville. I think the weather in Orlando in July is comparable to the climate there. It's very hot and muggy - same as South Texas. Since that's what you're used to, it won't be much of a change - except for the daily afternoon rain showers.
