DH thought I would be thrilled when he said last night we could go this July!
He's not had a wage rise, we haven't won the lottery so why didn't he say yes when I suggested it 12 months ago.
I am thrilled but in total panic now.
First thing i have got to book flights. We have been a few years ago with Virgin but prices are now ridiculous.
The cheapest I can find is about £3400 for the four of us with Delta.
I know I need to book quickly before even they go. My question is that is simply the flight does anyone know anyone who might do it for similar but with a car in the deal.
Any help on cheaper flights would be appreciated thank you. :thumbsup2

If you could tell us dates, where you prefer to fly from and how many for, then people could have a look for you also and let you know:)

We booked to Tampa indirect recently for 500 each in August via orbitz.com, sorry for those that have seen me keep on posting it but just in case it helps!

I will take a look at that site thank you.
I didn't want to annoy people by giving dates it seemed a bit rude that I would ask anyone to search so thank you for asking.
Ideally we would go Friday 26 th July for 14 nights or alternatively 16th August for 14 nights. Sorry know that sounds weird we want to be home 14th August for a family birthday hence dates.

Hi
After shopping around I looked at Aer Lingus and got 4 adults for £2624 going Saturday 17th August return Tuesday 3rd September 17 nights away was cheaper than either sat to sat or tues to tues. Sorry should have said going from Gatwick and changing at Dublin.
whilst this is not a bargain by any stretch of the imagination it was a great deal on the day compared to others.
Thought it might help someone else. There seemed to be a number of seats left on the plane.

Just remembered I had to add £40 on to choose seats together. I didn't however pay £15 each for meals as that seemed very expensive to me. The boys usually don't even like the meals. I believe you can buy food on board which might suit us better and we will buy bits at the airport.

We are flying with Aer Lingus for the first time this August, we fly out on the 1st August to MCO and return from Boston on the 25th, ours are from Manchester and paid a similar price to you. Its about as cheap as August gets now, although last time I checked our dates they had increased to almost £1,000pp.
If I remember correctly you pay for choosing the seats to and from Ireland not the transatlantic seats.
Others have said you get a meal included, the £15 is for a meal upgrade.

Yes you're
right I wasn't bothered about prebooking seats from LGW TO DUB but you have to to be able to do the long haul ones and they charge £5 each.
I must admit the meal bit on the form was a bit misleading as it mentioned upgrades but never actually said you got a meal if you didn't get them at £15 each.
It did show a selection of food such as toasties, sandwiches and pizza that you could buy on board. It would be great if a meal is included. I must admit I was expecting it on a long haul. I might have to look into that thanks.
