My SIL is planning a trip to Disney and believes that since July is value season there will be little to NO crowds. Maybe things have changed that drastically but I tried to tell her I thought she'd be standing in lines. SHE stated that she would not stand in a line more than 15 minutes at all she would just take her kids to another ride. AM I that crazy?? Wouldn't early Feb. be a better time to go?? She doesn't want January and is having trouble believing that they could swim at all in Feb. even though the pools are heated. Do you think she's making a big mistake. Also this is probably the only time she'll be able to take her kids so I'd hate to have her get there with HUGE crowds.

We always go in July and her theory will work for about the first hour to hour and a half of the park opening. After that, there will be lines and the popular attractions will be 45-60 minutes +. Feb. would defitely be better for less crowds the whole day.

That's what I thought - SO how do I convince her of that. She has NEVER been to Disney and was APPALLED to think of standing in line with her two children (who will not stand in line well). She wants to lay in the sun and relax - not really a first/only Disney trip attitude IMHO that's why she's against Feb. - Not enough sun for her.

Some people will only believe as they choose to believe. I'd just pick up a guide book and show her the crowd charts for each month.

You can't make someone else plan as you would. If they want to spend 1000's of dollars and not prepare themselves there is little you can do but warn them, and be ready to NOT say 'I told you so' when they come home complaining. ;)

She sounds like many I've heard complain that they go to FLORIDA in the summer, and its TOO hot and TOO crowded. (Surprise!) They typically also are surprised that when they show up at 10:30 - 11am the park is already crowded!

Solution: Show up at opening (especially using EE and Fastpass) and then head back for her 'sun' time at the pool in the afternoon. We do it this way and have a great time! Using EE and fast pass we very seldom spend over 15 minutes in any line, but you have to do your homework to make this work. Its up to her.

Good Luck!
