Hey there!

We did this last September, and it was great! I am up to organizing it if no one else wants to...I hear they've lowered the price, and hopefully we'll all be able to cash in on those savings as well.

I would like to keep our dates fairly close together so we don't have some people only having a few days for editing pictures.

We will be at DLR starting Sunday, July 20th, and leaving from DL on Friday, July 25th.

Anyway, let me know if you're interested, let me know when you're going! Let's save some money and get some great pictures!

I've been thinking about how others have done this...and I want to share how we did it last September.

Let's say we have five people for our group...

Example dates:
Person #1 - July 15-21
Person #2 - July 18-20
Person #3 - July 20-24
Person #4 - July 25-31
Person #5 - August 3-10

So...what we'd have to do is make sure we enter ALL the photopass numbers on ONE day. We have 30 days from the date of the first picture to add it to Photopass...so that would have until August 13th to add the photopass numbers in. What you would do is email me your photopass numbers - rather than enter them in yourself as soon as you get home. This way - everyone has 30 days to edit their pictures before ordering the CD. While the person at the end of our timeline has less time to get their numbers entered, they have the same amount of time to edit pictures. So let's say we enter all photopass numbers in on August 11th.

Then we set a date of, let's say, September 8th as the date you must be finished editing your pictures. Then that evening, the order for the photopass CD will be placed. Of course if everyone is done early with the editing, then we can order the CD sooner. Once the CDs arrive, I will copy your photos onto your own CD, and mail them to you. I can even possibly upload them to a website if you want them this way too.

Other groups I have seen do it like this:

Person #1 gets home on July 22nd, and enters their photopass numbers - this means that the photopass CDs need to be ordered in 30 days. They get the full 30 days to make changes and edit their pictures. When person #5 finally gets home on August 11th, they enter their photopass numbers but then since the 30 days have already started, they only get 10 days to edit their pictures.

I know for our 10 day trip last year, I had well over 300 photos (ended up with 600 or so after editing), so it took us a while to get it all done. 10 days wouldn't have been sufficient. For some it may be...but I like to give everyone the opportunity to have around 30 days for editing.

Anyway, I hope we can get some interest here...because I'd really like to do this. I'm pretty flexible on when to start and finish this, but as people sign up, it will determine what dates we can accept for others.

Since my dates are July 20-24 - at this point the earliest start date of someones trip can be as early as June 28th - OR the latest end date can be as late as August 18th. Now this will change as people sign up.

If someone signs up with the start date of June 28th - then the latest end date of the trip will be around July 26th. If my trip is the earliest (July 20th) then if your trip ends on or before August 18th, you can be here! I will update which date ranges are acceptable as we get people signed up...

We'll be there from July 13th - 16th. I have been afraid to participate in a photopass share (paranoid my pics would get deleted or lost!) but your experience is very reassuring!

Since you are willing to put the time and effort in to coordinate this share, I would be happy to mail you enough CDs to cover everyone. Alternatively, perhaps your share of the cost could be defrayed by the rest of the sharers? I know I would happily pay a bit extra in exchange for your extra work!

When I participated in a group in February we got a discount on the photopass CD if we preordered. I don't know if they are still doing this but it is definately worth checking out. I think we had about 8 people in our group and it worked great! Thanks so much for organizing this. I know it is a lot of work. My sister's name is Sarah.

It appears you can still preorder photopass cds for $99.00 (20% savings). I did a search on google "photpass cd preorder" the first result was "Disney Photopass" which gives a link to preorder the cd. I also think that if the cd is prepurchased we can get photo sessions at some of the resorts for $25.00 with proof of purchase. Anyway...all things to think about.

We're interested. We're going to be in DL on 8/8 but not sure about the other 2 (or 3) additional days. Arriving around 8/5 and leaving 8/11. PM me with details. WOuld love to participate since I know Libby (age to be 12) can't wait. She celebrated her b-day there 6 years ago and she's reading the Birnbaum book w/DH as I type. Now to find out where to do pin trading (and order a bunch) asap so she'll be all set.

Actually, it will work fine...you will just enter your numbers when you get back, and you have to finish the editing by September 4th. You will just have a few days less to edit. Instead of from Aug 8 - Sept 4, you'll get from Aug 14 - Sept 4th. It will still work fine - just six days less of editing.
