We will be going to Vero last week of June. We are driving and I know I will have an extreemly hard time driving past WDW and not staying there!!LOL Even if it is the beginning of July! My question is how crowded is it at WDW at the first week of July? Not the parks, just the resorts and DtD? I will never go into a park in July again!!LOL :earseek: But, I was just wondering if the resorts are as crowded as the parks? Will we get a chair at the pool? Will there be a room available anywhere? Anyone have any advice or input on this?
TIA

We stayed at BCV the first and second week of July, 2003. The first few days, immediately after July 4th, were surprisingly light -- and one of the ride operators in Epcot even commented on it, saying a LOT of people crowd into the resort for the holiday, then get out, so there is a lull for a couple days.

The resorts didn't seem any fuller than usual -- which is to say they are almost always at or near capacity during busy times. But we had no trouble finding a nice chair by Stormalong Bay, or at the quiet pool (which was close to empty some days!) We had no trouble getting seatings we wanted for meals, either -- even at the last minute.

A word of advice: go into the parks early, and leave early. It's mighty toasty in July, and by noon, you will definitley feel like you need to go someplace COOL!

We have been to WDW the last 4 July's and the resorts are crowded, just like the parks. If you don't get to the pool by 11AM, it is hard finding a pool chair close to the pool. At BWV, the slide usually opens up at 10AM, and by 11AM, the place is packed!!! At SAB, we also arrived early, and by 11AM again, all the prime chairs are gone!!! If you don't care being right next to the pool, and maybe in outer Mongolia, it's not a big deal. With little kids, we like to be right on top of the pool, so DH and I don't always have to be in there with them. Trying to get a DVC room at this point won't be tough. The summer for DVC is a rather slow time due to the high points, and it doesn't book up 7 months in advance. Now, if you want to go, you really should think about making ressies, since 4th of July week is pretty popular. We cancelled our two week July trip at WDW this summer so we could go West and experience DL's 50th and the West Coast sailing of the Magic. I'll miss WDW, because for me, it's not festive without the crowds!!!!

We were at the BWV last 4th of July. We never had a problem finding spots at the pool. Or the pool bar. :earboy2: We hit the parks in the morning, pool in the afternoon and back to the parks in the evening. If you're going, I would book now. We're going in June this year to get 2 trips out of our AP's.

Have fun!

Early July tends to be crowded, late July things are a little more mild. In Early July Pool chairs are a commodity, with many gone before 11am, second and third week are a little calmer and by the end of July we have never had much trouble . July fourth is a bit strange where it falls in respect to the week--On Monday--by the 6th or so things should clear out a bit more. I would expect the heaviest crowds from Friday the 1st to Tuesday the 5th. I will be arriving on the first in order to avoid having to drive in too much Friday traffic. I hope to leave by noon on Thursday to keep the traffic under control. I have no choice but ot go in July so we usually have a great handle on things.

I dislike going to WDW in July. I'm not offended by the heat, but it is very warm in July. The crowds are very high as well.

I once had to wait 135 minutes to go on Splash Mountain. We fortunately got FP for Runaway Train, but hubby took them from me when he met us at the parks.

100 degree weather is ok, but not when you are walking around on concrete in a crowded park.
