July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

Hi!
Hope everyone made it back home safe and sound. We had no traffic. My cat was so excited (or mad?) to see me when I picked her up she attached herself with her claws to my skin and wouldn't let go for over 20 minutes. That's a fun way to unpack!
We so enjoyed meeting so many of you. I was really glad to get to know Craig and his family, Chris and his family, Amy and Matt and Dycal and Dylan better. We had so much fun. I was ok until I went to sleep last night and then I woke up at 4am, depressed! Thank God for TV Land!
We re-booked for a land and sea in 10/06. I loved the long cruise but I so want to see Disneyworld again. We got a Nav. verandah again. We loved it. We also got deck 7 which is my favorite. I am happy to report that I only gained 2 pds. Taking those stairs works!!!
Well I am going to sign off now. I helped with the "Brunch with the Quatermaines" party today (General Hospital) as I do each year. I really wasn't up to it but I couldn't let them down. Spent 8 hours on my feet and am just exhausted.
Lori

We got back home safe and sound late Saturday night. It's so sad to think that someone else is enjoying "OUR" ship and stateroom and dining rooms, etc. Did laundry all day yesterday and then repacked DD for band camp all this week. It was hard going back to work - took all day just to get through all the emails!

It was great meeting all you Dissers - you're a great bunch of people! Thanks especially to GrumpyMom and her DDs for a great time! This will definitely be a vacation we'll always remember.

How do we get through the days now?! I just got off the DVC site where I was looking at exchanges in Hawaii since we're going there next summer with the high school band. Guess that's what I'll have to dream about.

Faith, trust and pixie dust!!! makes anything possible!

Thanks for a great time!

I know I'm late chiming in here, but I just wanted to say to everyone :
THANKS A MILLION!!!

You all made the trip FANTASTIC for us! Cassie and I wouldn't have enjoyed those Happy Horses as much without Susan and Sheila. (I might not have made it at all :headache: ) Man, was it humid! Cabo was fun. Esp watching little Lexi trying to figure out how to get Cassie's goggles on and off. And BIG :grouphug: to Craig, Christine, Quinton, Lori, James and Cameron for the dinners. Sara, Mike, you are the best! Buzz, Lola, ditto! And everyone else, if I named you all I've have my own page!

So many memories - another deck party, Buzz ? BTW, Timmy cherishes the coin you gave him!

If you're ever in San Diego y'all...

Hi!
I did not get many pictures of Pirate night with the fireworks and the "show". If any of you got some shots I would love to have copies. Just let me know how to order them /pay you for them.
I was doing really good with not being real sad about our trip being over and then when I read Cheri's post I got really sad for our dinners. LOL! I have been so busy haven't had much time to think about it before now so I am sure that is it.

Hi Lori - I have a bunch of pictures from that night. I hope to post my pictures this weekend. You can have a look and let me know if there are any you want.

Mike, Lexi & I made it back in one piece each tonight. I've decided that 2 weeks of vacation with a 2 year old is a little long. We got her up at 4:00 AM on the 17th and made it into the park pretty early for the 50th anniversary.

We re-booked on board for Sep 9 2006 with the baby, but right now we're thinking of letting her stay at grandma's since it's our 5 year anniversary (and because we're both a little sick of chasing her around in unfamiliar territory just at the moment).

As soon as I find the memory stick with it on it, I'll post the scavenger hunt clues and answers for those that missed it.

At least I have a couple of days to decompress before I have to rejoin the 'real' world...

We miss you all.

Thanks Sheila. I will be looking forward to seeing them.

Hi everyone!
No one is posting much, guess we are all busy getting back to our "normal" lives. Hope you all are well.

Hey all,
new question: does anyone know how to change the little blurb under the avatar? I changed the avatar but can't change the text? Obviously July 9th has come and gone and I feel like an idiot posting with that on it.

Hope you all are great. We miss you guys. Drop us an email. Need your address if you want pictures. A few from the party of Amy, Buzz, Lola, their kids (not Amy's ha-ha), Lori, the dinner gang, etc .....

Ciao,
Cheri

All-

We had a great time on the cruise! It was like sailing with old friends. Great seeing all of the familiar people on the ship.

Chris and Cheri- Thanks for the party, we certainly enjoyed!

Not too happy to be back to work after three weeks. I feel like an astronaut on re-entry. Lots to catch-up on at home and at work.

Best Regards,

Oh my! A little souvenir from my Disney cruise?! I know the party & cruise were a blast, but.... :confused3 Oh man, the explaining I would need to do! :rotfl:

Today, on my day off, I sit at home relishing in the duties of the real world. Homework in English Comp and Alegebra. A new hot water heater getting installed as I type. And another contractor on his way over to install the remaining Pergo flooring. Thank goodness the vacation bill wasn't too bad! :faint:

They say pictures are worth a thousand words so I guess you would be in trouble! You could always tell everyone that the pictures are of your evil twin (or the good one as the case may be!!!).

OK, Here are the answers to the the Scavenger Hunt (for those that care). Sorry it's taken me so long to post them, but it's been a crazy week (and I've been sick)...

I’m first, I’m second,
My rings are three
By my name can you call me?

Answer: The First Officer's name (which I've already forgotten)

On a crescent moon you’ll abide
With the Captain by your side
If you find this ticket to ride.

Answer: a ticket to the bridge tour

A “Clean, Hip Dad” could be this instead
Bring in an autograph, not a head,
Lest you fill us with dread.

Answer: "Chip and Dale" autograph

Swan, Monkey, Snake, Baboon
A menagerie to make you swoon
Keep one alive to wow the room.

Answer: a towel animal

Jack Sparrow, Mr. Smee,
Blackbeard’s Ghost – to name but three.
A kerchief red will be your key

Answer: the red bandanna they gave out on pirate night

The Pyramid of Cheops is smaller
The Eiffel Tower is taller
If you know my name, just holler.

Answer: the Magic (this referes to a picture on deck 5 that shows the relative sizes of the objects in question).

Stuck in a box, all the same
Strike one & we all burst into flame
Keep us from harm & we stay tame

Answer: Matches (from Cove Cafe or Palo)

In addition to my given name
I’ll answer to Moira or Angela just the same
Find my invitation to win this gam

Answer: ticket to Tea with Wendy

To win fair maiden, Lumiere knows
There’s a Flower hidden under your nose
Search the ship for Belle’s Rose.

Answer: there is a napkin fold that they use in Lumiere's for special presentations called "belle's rose" or the "artichoke"

Hope you all had fun with it...

Sara

I hope everyone is having a great summer.I havent checked the boards in long time but think of you all often.Boy is it quiet! Christine

Hi, Christine! Hope all is well with you guys! I think I'm in the post-cruise depression stage right now...just can't believe it's all over! We did rebook onboard...but it's for October 2006 and we might even move that to March 2007 when those dates come out...SOOOOO far away!!! :guilty: I've been trying to check up on the boards every few days to stay positive! ;) Did you guys rebook? If so, for when? We are currently on the October 28, 2006 Eastern Caribbean.

Kim :flower:

Kim,We are doing great.I also am going through post-cruise depression its weird not having a cruise to look forward to.No we havent rebooked yet.But im sure after a little winning, yes i do use this to get my way(Quintons not the only one with this skill) Im sure Craig will agree he as well misses all the planning . Im hoping the Magic comes back to the west coast that makes it a little easier to plan.I cant imagin not going on another Disney cruise it was the best family vacation ever!!.

It is kind of weird not having a cruise to look forward to(5 months or so) but on the up side we have re booked one for Sep 2006 Sep 9th and a western one at that. In case you didn't know there 2 new cruises on the wonder a 10 day and an 11 day. pm for more details

BTW we miss all of you

Mike Sara and Lexi

Good morning gang,

I am still working on sorting through the tons of pictures we took and resizing them for posting. Hopefully I will be able to finish this weekend.

We rebooked for Thanksgiving week 2006 but it doesn't look like we will be able to go then due to Krystal's colorguard activities. We will probably move it to sometime in 2007. We really want to do the Western.

In the meantime, I have been curing my post cruise depression by planning an Alaska cruise for next summer. We are going to try Princess and see how we like it.

Has anyone considered going to San Pedro on the 20th to send the Magic off back to Florida? We're hoping to make it up there.

We've thought about seeing the Magic off but I don't know. We leave for Oregon the next day and I don't know if I will have time to pack! Guess I should have just washed the stuff and just put it back into the suitcases! LOL!

At this point I don't know if seeing the boat would make me more sad! I was fine after the cruise but the last few days....
