July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

Lori...I am bringing postcards for my kids to trade with their new friends, though I haven't had much luck finding postcards from Rancho Cucamonga...I'll probably just get California postcards. I'm planning on putting their contact information on it so they can communicate with each other after the cruise...name, age, address, phone #, e-mail.

Craig...I sent you a PM about getting an updated list for our DIS group...I'm trying to finalize nametags.

Speaking of nametags, I have most of them printed...but I need more info from a few DISers to complete: FirstTimeCruiser, goofy4u, SusanB, TesanRick, Pferrell, and TnRobin...if you want nametags for your group, please PM me with screenname (or relation to DISer..DH, DD, etc.), real name, city and state of residence for each person in your party. I will need this information by this weekend in order to print your nametags.

I read on another thread that there is a new DCL excursion in Cabo called the Premiere Beach Escape. I called today (it's not on the website yet) and they said it goes to the Melia and includes lunch and transportation as well as use of all resort facilities. $69 for adults, $49 for kids. Just FYI.

if I do this right -IF- :earseek: , here's our door sign ...

I like the idea of hitting the beach in Cabo as a loose group. No set return time that way. We :earsgirl: could even leave the kids with the :earsboy: and do a little shopping ...

I keep trying to get caught up on the laundry, but those pesky kids keep insisting on wearing clean clothes every day and don't like my idea of running around naked until we sail. Honestly, is it too much to ask? :rotfl2:

I thought that getting rancho ones might be hard so I figured getting Fontana would be even harder. Have you looked at Victoria Gardens? I think I will probably end up with California ones too. Are you bringing for all the kids or just the ones specifically in your kids' age groups. It makes no difference to me, just don't want to leave anyone out. Cameron loves to get mail and it doesn't matter if its traditional or email.

Oh, and is it July 9th yet?

Cheri,
That is so cute! I haven't even thought about a door sign. Maybe since this is a nice long weekend for me and DH is actually off I can spend some time thinking/working on one.
Lori

Cheri...love your door sign! Very cute!

Lori...I haven't checked at Victoria Gardens yet. They used to carry them at the Sav-On by my house, but they no longer carry them. I called City Hall and they don't have them and don't know if anyone does. Called the Best Western in town...no deal. So...I have some California postcards with Mickey and friends on them. I'll probably use those. I'm just going to bring a bunch so the kids can exchange them with the DIS kids, but also give them to any new friends they might meet in the club/lab.

Tomorrow we can do the single digit dance!!!

Ok, I'm adding post cards to my last minute shopping list. Boy is this going to be a busy weekend! I'm hoping to get 95% of everything done this weekend since I have Monday off. Then on Tue, Wed, and Thur, I won't have to be scambling when I get home from work. Friday we are heading up to Disneyland! So 8 more days for us! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Cheri - great door sign. I will try and do one this weekend.

Patty - glad to hear you got your docs since you leave in a couple of days!

Kim - I gave you our information for name tags, right? I will send an email to Susan B. to contact you if she wants name tags.

Single digit dance :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Cheri, I love your thinking. That sounds like so much fun (especially the leaving the kids part). Loved your door sign! What exactly did you put it on?

We're bringing postcards to share with those we meet and wish to keep contact with. These are for our entire family. We are bringing postcards from Huntington Beach, our neigboring town. On the back we have printed labels that have all our names, a telephone number and all our email addresses. We figured it would be a great souvineer for someone visiting. If you can't get to Surf City, at least you met someone from there and got a postcard as well.

* Lori. Postcard suggestions: Ranch Cucamonga is famous for two things Orange Groves and Route 66...and well, the name. Try the local Chamber of Commerce - they are always a great resource.

SINGLE DIGITS? Already? I have too much to do!!!!!! Forget it! :cool1: Yahoo!!!! It's almost :hourglass

I put the door magnet sign on Powerpoint after an hour of fighting with (and losing to) Photoshop. It was a lot of fun and I downloaded a lot of cute character clip art. I'm thinking of doing one for our party- after I finish putting beads on my t-shirt, and finish the laundry, and pack, and pick up a few last things, and finish the activity books, and lose 10 pounds, and those other 30 things. :rotfl:

Here's a question: is anyone bringing anything "different" that the rest of us might not think to bring but would be useful? An example is that we bring a different a color highlighter for each person and mark up the Navigators. It helps us keep track of who wants to do what/when/where, etc.

We're bringing Sand Toys and a floaty ring for Lexi. I'm hoping for a lot of beach time & I can't imagine that they'll take up too much room (and if they do - we can always ditch them on the way home).

We're also bringing chocolates to have a chocolate tasting at the party. Different brands of Dark chocolate to see what's the best. We just found another one that we hadn't tried before that's very good. :goodvibes

Hi everyone. I'm asking for prayers again and I really need them this time. The last couple of days I've had three episodes of seeing spots. They've lasted about 15 minutes or so long. My neurologist thinks it's dehydration since my BP and pulse were VERY high when I was iin her office. I'm going in for an MRI/MRA tomorrow morning and hope everything is o.k. and we can leave on Saturday. Other than these episodes I feel fine, so hopefully there will be no problem and our trip won't be in jeopardy. I'll keep everyone posted as much as I can.

Lori,

Sending lots of prayers and pixie dust your way! Let us know what the doctor says and drink lots. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

We'll say a prayer for you Lori and ... :wizard:

Cheri, we're taking a lot of different things we picked up suggestions during our cruise research. Not a complete list by far, but a few of the highlights:

Envelop of $1's for room service, porters, taxi, etc.

Health insurance cards

Water proof disposable cameras

Glow braclets & necklaces for pirates party and possibly Animiators Palette

You forgot the "Pocket Guide to Covert Night Mickey Slide Operations Signal Guide." Waterproof cameras will be nice to record the "proof," though...I wonder if they make those with a built in flash? Nah....that'd give away our position!!
The other critical packing item is the rum. Pusser's, just like the old British Navy got in their rations each day.
Arrrrrrrrrrgh,

Lori- Good luck tomorrow for that MRI. Feel better. Sure its just the heat! Be careful at DL.

Everyone else: My last post before leaving for CA. Leaving laptop home so that I am not tempted to check work things out (DW would toss it overboard if she caught me after the past four weeks!). Will try to catch-up at hotel but just in case, we will be at the port early with our shirts on, looking forward to meeting everyone !

Have a safe trip to San Pedro!
