July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

welcome Disneyfanatic510! My brother's birthday is July 17th also!

Craig...thanks for the link to the Navigator's...now I just have to find some time to read through them!

I'm taking the kids to Disneyland tomorrow. It's a mental health day from work for me! :earboy2: I want to go to the park to see all the 50th anniversary stuff before all the kids get out of school and the crowds get crazy! Hopefully tomorrow will be a good day...and it'll help me get through the last 8 days of school after that!

Ok Sara, I would have never known this answer but you can find anything on the internet. Is that cheating?

So what I found is The 13 Clocks by James Thurber. Am I right?

Can you give us something a little easier next time?

Oh, and are we still doing the scavenger hunt on the ship? My girls really want to do it.
Houston, we have a winner. The Thirteen Clocks was my all time favorite fairytale when I was little, and still is. I recommend it to anyone, but I won't let my copy out of the house.

You want something easier, here's a Disney question:

Everyone knows about the "Partners" statue in Disneyland... Walt & Mickey surveying the park they built and inspired from the Hub. There is a hidden Mickey on the statue - do you know where it is?

We're ordering shirts with Craig's help, and I'm looking for the appropriate outfit for Pirate Night. Anybody know which night that will be? I vote for every night!

I believe Pirate Night is Tuesday night. I picked up some cheap pirate hats and eye patches at Party City...was thinking of wearing those with our lime green DIS pirate shirts (will probably send them out to be cleaned after we wear them to embark) and black pants. Would that be OK to wear to dinner since they are t-shirts? What is everyone else doing?

Also...didn't someone else on our thread say they went to see the new fireworks show at Disneyland? I thought I remember someone making a recommendation about where to sit for the best view, but I can't remember where I read it now! I'd love some advice for tomorrow's trip!

Am I missing something? I only see the navigator that gives the week-at-a-glance -- are there individual day navigators??

Thanks,
Val
Yes, there are several days worth. You don't see the list when you click on the link? That's weird. Try going to the main www.allearsnet.com page and then click on the Navigators link that is at the top left under the First Ever West Coast Cruise stuff.

Disneyfanatic510 - welcome aboard. I don't know of any other girls your DD's age in our group. I have a DD16 and a DD12 so your's is right between mine. Most of the pre-teens and early teens in our group are boys.

Only 33 days left!

Duh, if I would have just clicked on each day, that would have helped!!

Thanks! I must be in "cruise land" somewhere...

Val

Welcome Disneyfanatic510!! Prepare to enjoy yourself as we have a lot of great people on this cruise!

Thanks Scooter-Dad for posting the link to the navigators -- and did you mention shopping???? I too have purchase new luggage for the cruise and have started packing!!! I needed more and bigger suitcases because I don't pack lighly and we will be gone for 11 days!!

I went to Party City and got some eye patches and a chocker. I also found a Pirate skirt but was looking for the whole costume for both Dylan and I. I think T-Shirts will be fine as from the looks of the pictures, people are really getting into the spirit of it!!

Is it July yet??? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Please tell me it's on the ring Walt is wearing? :confused3

As far as Pirate night, Matt & I were planning to wear our lime greet shirts too. With our great logo, it just seemed like the right thing to wear. We'll probably 'Hook' it up with black pants too(pardon the pun!). It sounds like it'll be a relaxed evening and tons of fun! pirate:

It is... I hope you all know that you won't be able to use the internet to find answers for the Scavenger Hunt (unless you've paid for the package, of course) pirate:

Alright, here's an easy one: What is Donald Duck's sister's name?

Sara

I am sooooo looking forward to running around our ship looking for clues!

That's a great idea to wear the lime green shirts to pirate night. I'll go to Party City, too and get eyepatches for our family. Sounds like so much fun.

Kim...that is great Alexis went horseback riding. The kids finally took a trail ride on Friday and had a great time, except Ryan's horse (and Ryan, too) got spooked and the horse tripped. He was fine, though. On Saturday, we did a bowling alley sleepover with our Brownies. It was so much fun. For $10/each they bowled for 1 1/2 hrs., got a backstage tour, slept in one of the party rooms and then had a breakfast buffet in the morning. We all had such a good time. Hope you had a fun time at the big D. We really need to go before we move. So much to do...so little time.

Hi everyone!! Hopefully things are getting on the right track for us. I'm FINALLY starting to feel better from my battle with the flu last week, and also better from my stroke. We rescheduled our cancelled WDW trip (from when Brandon had the ear infection) for Darren's birthday week!!! Now, I'm asking for a little pixie dust tomorrow. I'm taking Darren to the dr, and hopefully we'll get the all clear from him too and then we'll hopefully done with our "BAD" period. This all started with us cancelling our Easter Trip to WDW, and now that's it's rescheduled hopefully things are on the upswing, and we'll get good news tomorrow. Thanks!!!!!!

Since I am new here, can someone please explain to me about the lime green shirt and the logo. Where do I get one?

Welcome Disneyfanantics510. The shirts were something that developed for our group because...well...we wanted shirts. I am the keeper of the shirts. Here is the link to order shirts

https://www.cafepress.com/disneymagic
These shirts are the official and better quality. Most of the adults are wearing these.

These shirts are fine too but were set up to give those with small kids the sizes they needed. Most of the little kids are wearing these.

PM & let me know what you want - I will set them up. I still have to set up Offwego since I have been out of town. You can pick sizes when you order after I set them up. I make no money on the shirts.

Lori -- Much Pixie Dust and Prayers going your way! I will be thinking of you tomorrow!

That's certainly true, Craig, and we sure appreciate that and the other things you have taken point on. However, you may still get rewarded for your efforts. I wouldn't be surprised if you end up being the recipient of a round or two courtesy of some of your grateful friends on the DIS boards. :worship: :worship: :worship:

I will add my welcom to you, Disneyfanantics510. I hate to put this on you, but to truly understand and appreciate the depth, quality, enthusiasm, and....okay, silliness, craziness, and plain obsession with this cruise that the people on this thread exhibit, you really need to read all 106 pages of posts. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 (Not really, though you might find it fun!!).

Lori, we're all praying for you and Darren to put this rough patch behind you.

Chris

Chris,
Quite right on Craig getting a big reward for his t-shirt efforts. I had already PM'd him to let him know he'll be getting a "nice big tin cup full o'rum" from me. The tin cup is an old British sailing tradition. Does this mean I'm officially in conflict with myself?
Arrrrrrrrrrr! pirate:

Setting up shirts for Offwego Fojmo and waiting for disneyfanatic510 count so I can do all at once. Any more shirts, PM me. disneyfanatic510 turn in your order.

No thanks necessary. Like everyone else in the group, I enjoy the excitement and friendship of this little group. Besides, it makes time go by faster if I keep busy.
