July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

Karen - Pixie Dust coming your way. We're actually excited about the prospect of relocating. Darren REALLY wants out of NYC, and if we have to move to accomplish that, so be it. It really is tough trying to get ahead in NYC, and still see your family during the week. Most nights, Darren isn't home before 8PM and the kids are just about ready for bed then. It's tough on him, and with this relocation, he'll be no more than 30 minutes away by car, whereas now he's 1 1/2 hour train commute away. We'll see though.....

Lori--I'll send some Pixie Dust your way, too! I can't imagine working in NYC. We have friends that moved there, but his housing is paid for because he is a Pastor. Otherwise there would be no way they could manage it.

Have a wonderful time in WDW! Some friends will be coming home this week from WDW. It was their first time visiting EPCOT and I helped map out their visit so I hope they had fun.

Lori -- Have a great time in WDW. I know some folks who are there this week (spring break) and I have been getting periodic updates --- How cruel!

Karen (and Lori) I will be thinking of you on the Job transfers -- especially Karen! I am not sure that I would ever want to leave sunny California for Indianappolis -- unless of course you are into racing!

The sunscreen story is too funny. Although when I went to the Estee Lauder counter to get my self-tanner they still had it hidden as it was too early to bring out!!! At least I was able to get a fresh supply.

Sheryl :sunny:

Sheryl--I am definately not into racing, or football or college basketball. What else is there in Indianapolis? Hopefully no one is from Indianapolis on this cruise because I am sure I have just alienated them :sad2: . DH did say the people there were very nice, though.

That is funny about the self-tanning stuff. I wonder if it is like wearing white shoes--you have to wait until Easter to start using it.

Wow - glad to see things a little more lively today. :flower:

Karen - Sorry to tell you but SusanB who is on our cruise is from Indianapolis. But you might be safe because I don't think she's been on here lately.

Good luck everyone with the job transfer decisions. I had to make that decision a few years ago and was too chicken to move across the country.

Lori - hope you guys have a good time at WDW!!! :earsboy:

Sheila,

Ooops. I seem to remember that someone said something about Indianapolis. I did say DH said they were very nice there. In fact, when the lady at the company cafeteria saw on his ID badge that he was from CA she said, "Oh, you're from California...now you must go get a free piece of cake." :flower:

Hey everyone,

Sorry for being absent. I spent the weekend in Mexico with the DD (you know, doing reconnaissance for the cruise), and I was in rainy SF Monday night and yesterday. Sara, I should have let you know I was coming so you and Mike could have ordered me up some better weather before I went----sheeesh. :umbrella: :umbrella:

Lori, where are you guys thinking of relocating to?

Actually, I rather like working in NYC.....
....when the weather's good.....
....with a 5 minute commute from my hotel.....
....for 3 days at a time.....
....on an expense account.

Okay, okay, so I guess it's much worse working there all the time with a 2 hour commute. Have fun at WDW!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Lori-

You can not leave NJ until we have our East Coast Meet at Jose's! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Have a great time at WDW! Wish we were joining you!

Has anyone done the Spa tester? I have done that at spas around here and on another cruise line, but not on Disney. I was thinking about doing the couples spa tester. DH has never had a massage or anything else and I think he would enjoy it. However, DD does not think it is right that a person of the opposite sex massages on us. If I'm next to him, maybe she'll consent. The price is $242 for couples and $109 for singles. I guess you pay a premium for being next to your spouse.

I was wondering about the Spa Tester too! We're doing the REAS and have a choice of the couples well-being or the spa tester. Have no idea which we should do. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Kim :flower:

I think one of the massages is a full massage and the other is a back massage and a facial...I'm not sure which is which. I don't know from experience, I just know from reading these boards and the Passporter. I don't know what the cost is without the REAS, but I think both massages are the same price.

Kim

DH says he would love to try the spa taster. That will be a nice anniversary present for each other. Can't you then use the Rainforest for a lower rate on the day of your spa visit? That sounds like a nice way to spend a day at sea.

Or at least gone out to dinner with you... an expense account you say (insert diabolical laugh here) :drinking1

Question #713 back on page 48 someone asked about knowing anyone cruising before us.

Four different neighbors, in fact, are cruising at different times before us. One of them has already done extensive research (She reads our thread becasue she says we are so much more entertaining than her own thread. Hi, Anna. :wave2: ) Let me know if you want any questions answered as people return.

Cheri-

That's good news. We will be able to have first-hand info about schedules (maybe even get a copy of the Navigator's) before we go! We learned alot from previous cruisers on our earlier cruises. We ended up changing excursions after the feedback.

When do the first cruiser's cruise? (say that three times fast)

Later.

Oh, man! Wouldn't copies of the Navigators be nice? It would SOOOO help my planning! :cool1:

Kim

I've been "outed" (Thanks Cheri! :sad2: )
Ok, so you actually got me to go ahead and abandon my lurking status and register :cool1: It is now your job to 'splain all the signature, picture, etc to me :p
At least the little picture thingies are on the side
ok, I will get navigators for you. We cruise on June 18th. Can't wait!

Hey guys, can I ask for a little pixie dust? :wizard: Brandon was crying last night that his ear hurt him, he has a HORRIBLE cough AND is running a 102 degree fever. I'm off to the Ped's in about 30 minutes to get him checked out, but I really think we're going to have to cancel our trip since we leave on Saturday!!! Of course, his well-being is first and foremost, but it still stinks that we probably won't be going to WDW next week. Also, to make matters worse, we found a MOUSE in our house last night!! :earseek: :earseek: We've lived here for almost 6 years and NEVER have we gotten a mouse in the house. Since this used to be a farm, there are TONS of field mice outside and I've seen them, but never in MY HOUSE!!! I was on top of a kitchen chair for about 15 minutes while Darren tried to find it, but he didn't. I know have the basement door (that's where he ran when we saw him) barricaded to keep him down there until I can get some traps. I might of course wimp out and call the exterminator..... This hasn't been a good 24 hours here......
