July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

I haven't decided what I'm wearing, but most likely a floor length gown of some sort for formal night and a pant suit or shorter dress for semi-formal. But, like Mike said, we like to dress up for stuff.

First off, we're boycotting formal night. I don't feel like dragging all those close cross-country and we just did formal night in November. I'll either be in Palo on formal/semi-formal night and the other in Topsiders. I'll have to carry all those clothes for a week before we get on, and I just don't feel like it!!!

We decided to cancel the WDW trip. Brandon isn't all that great today, and is REALLY cranky. My guess it's more his asthma acting up then the ear infection, but he still has a fever. Oh well.... We're making alternate plans for the week now. We're just going to stay local!!!!

Sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip but I know that kids come first!

I know what you mean about packing all the clothes and transporting them cross country-- I am already wondering how I am going to do it! I am thinking about buying yet another large suitcase as we are allowed to take three a piece but am not sure how Dylan and I will manage it. We had a tough time last year with four suitcases! I planned on just getting the bellmen to handle it but I couldn't find a single one on our trip out -- oh and did I mention we had four suitcases for just the cruise?? Needless to say I don't pack lightly. I may have to start packing now to fit it all in!

Hi Amous! I haven't been on the boards in ages and I'm trying to catch up with 51 pages of posts about the July 9 cruise. I saw where you responded to Sheila regarding "single mom-hood" and arranging for buddies for our kids. My DD is 16 and has been in touch with Sheila's DD. I'm sure she'd be interested in getting to know other kids as well. On our last cruise, she knew 6 kids before we ever set sail. She had a great time and I'm sure she will this time too! Drop me line!

Hey Susan, just sent ya a PM. Would you, could you, PM your e-mail address? :teeth:

Regarding formal nite: I love dressing up in fancy girl clothes and it's a definite must for my DS to wear a tux. I have a black tea-length dress, simple but elegant, and wear it to both formal and semi-formal nites.

It's a black tea-length dress for me as well. I've worn it on both of the other cruises - well, I would have worn it this last time if I had remembered to bring a slip to wear underneath :sad2: :guilty: yup, standing in the closet crying over what a complete idjit I was :sad1:.

Makes me wonder what I'll forget this year. :rolleyes1

We really look forward for formal night. We usually attend a theatre awards banquet in the Fall every year and I get a gown and Stu wears his tux. We got Stu's tux on Ebay and I usually get all my gowns there too -- great bargains and always NEW clothing! I got Stu a Mickey Mouse vest and tux tie this past Christmas so he can wear it on formal night. I have to see what gown I'll bring, as I'm still losing weight. Today I'm down 15 pounds since the beginning of February!!

Val

Val...congrats on your weight loss! I'm in the middle of that battle myself right now, so I know how tough it is! I'm down 10 lbs. and still working. I think we will probably go with the tuxes...it's kind of a once in a lifetime opportunity for formal photos since we RARELY dress up at all!

Page 2 !!!????!!?? That is simply unacceptable!!! Just a bump up to see if any of you are out there!

We're here. Suffering from the 'Back 2 Work' blues! Isn't it time to cruise? :goodvibes

I wish! 103 days still seems a long way away! And I can relate to the back to work blues...today is my first day back on track after 3 weeks of vacation! :guilty: July can't come soon enough for me!

Kim

Hey everyone. Greetings from cold and rainy NJ. YUCK!! I could be in sunny FL now... Oh well.... Brandon is finally starting to feel better, so it was a good thing we stayed home. I can't believe the cruise is getting so close!! It's now the thing I'm living for!! I can't wait!!!

Still here, it's just been really busy & I haven't had time to post. We just checked, my next countdown point is May 10th (when our final payment is due). I wish we were already paid & going next week...

Sara

I just paid off the cruise today! WooHoo!!!!!! :cool1: Now I just have to finalize my excursion plans so I can book them at 90 days, figure out which days to book Palo and spa reservations for my REAS package, and shop, shop, shop!!!

By the way, I had read on these boards that people were able to book their REAS reservations months in advance. I've tried calling Debbie on several occasions, but she keeps telling me to wait...I'll be able to reserve online in a few months...but call her back if I have a problem. That just doesn't fly with my type A planning personality! :sad2: What do I do???

Kim :flower:

I have a question about excursions. Who do you book those with? Your TA or Disney?

Also, for those going on Randi's Happy Horses? What are we supposed to wear? We just got back from DD and DS's riding lessons and DD wore shorts. She got several marks on her legs because she wore shorts. I wonder if we should wear pants, but won't that be too hot? Maybe capris would work. Any other suggestions?

Karen

Kim,

How did you do your countdown ticker. I did it in the same site that you did yours and added it to my signature line, but it doesn't work.

Karen

Karen,

I was wondering the same thing about Randi's. I noticed on her website that many were wearing shorts...I know it'll be really hot! It seems like capris and a sleeveless top would be a good solution for the girls, but what about the guys? I don't know...I haven't been on a horse in 9 years...we went in San Diego on our 1st anniversary. Maybe we should e-mail Randi and ask what she suggests.

Kim :flower:

I also read somewhere that you have beach time at Victor's when you ride with Randi. I guess it would be a good idea to wear our suits under our clothes? Has anyone else heard that?

Kim :flower:

Is Victor's a restaurant that has a beach outside? And, what kind of beach? I wonder if she has someplace to store our things, i.e., if we do go to the beach a place for towels, sunscreen, etc. I could bring a backpack, but that would be really hot to keep on my back. You're right, we should email Randy. I'll see if I still have her email address.
