Shopping's good, provided I can get away from the little one (or park her at a beach with dad somewhere).... :goodvibes

Here are some more Trivia Questions:

1) Who was the supervising Animator for Tinkerbelle in Peter Pan?

2) What's Donald Duck's middle name?

3) What movie began the "second renaissance" of Feature Animation?

4) What resorts are on the monorail line in Walt Disney World?

5) The "It's a Small World" Ride was originally created for what occasion?

Do you ever play the Disney Trivial Pursuit game to get pie pieces for NOT knowing the answer (obviously this depends on the honor system)? My friend Cybele & I both know enough about Disney that this is the only way to make the game a challenge for us...

Sara

I can do three out of the five:
3) Beauty and the Beast
4) Contemporary, Grand FLoridian, Polynesian
5) 1964 World's Fair

DW helping me out over my shoulder! She is guessing Reginald for a middle name for DD.

Oh Amy I really feel for you -- As for wines I usually go for the Reds - one of my faves is La Cuvee Mythique. It is a blend of several grapes -- leaning towards the Syrah. I am sending lots of pixie dust your way -- but burning yourself is a tough way to get the base tan!!!!!

As for shore excursions:

Definely the Dolphin Swim in Puerto Vallarta,.

Dylan wants to do the Beach Horseback Riding in Acapulco (neither of us have ridden before except circus ponies!). Does anyone know if this is a prerequisite.

He wants to do Golf in Cabo -- again neither of us have ever done that. I am going to try to persuade him against it and opt for a Beach day. His second choice is the tequila and saddles which might be fun but too much like an elementary school field trip!

#4 & #5 are right... Reginald is not D. Duck's middle name, though :earboy2: I'll wait till tomorrow morning to give out the rest of the answers & we'll see who can get the correct answers without help. I'll try to come up with more (these were just off the top of my head).

Amy, I'm so sorry to hear about your burn. Sounds painful! Take care and before you know it, all will be healed. Prayers and pixie dust coming your way!

As for excursions for us, can you believe we are interested in very few of the offerings in any of the ports? :confused3 We really just like to shop and may just get ourselves to a shopping area and walk around and maybe have lunch. We might seek out the Hard Rock Cafes in Cabo and Puerta Vallarta. Don't know what the girls want to do -- they really wanted to go surfing, but not much surfing offered in Mexico. We might do the ports a little and then just head back to the real vacation -- the MAGIC! :flower:

I never thought of it like this! Too funny! Thanks for all the pixie dust. I can feel it working already!

Seems like we have horseback riding and swimming with the dolphins as the biggest excursions for our group. Shopping and lunch on the Magic sounds great! Anyone heard of Chico's Paradise in PV? Wondering if it was worth the trip?

We've got some good trivia questions going on! Okay gang, grab your mouse-ears (aka: thinking caps!)..... I'm having a hard time with these!

I just realized we are on page 45 - half way to our goal!
Sheila,

Great minds must surely think alike. I had already typed out an almost identical post to yours when I heard a "bing" that a new post had come in. Oh, well, I guess I'm late as usual.

Sara, no disrespect, but I strongly suspect you're basically toying with us with your "off the top of my head" questions. I imagine if you wanted to ask really hard Disney questions, you'd have us stumped for a millenia or two tryin' to answer them. And folks, while I don't know Mike *really* well yet, I have spent a few hours with him and Sarangel, and I'm pretty sure you're going to have to come up with some serious movie trivia to stump him on that subject. From what I've seen, I'd imagine Roger Ebert would have trouble asking Mike a movie question he couldn't answer, especially "off the top of his head".

That's OK, though. One of the things we discussed at the Rainforest Cafe during our meet last month was the fact that this seems like a game-playing group, and that we'll certainly need to have a part of our on-board party dedicated to playing at least one. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Given what I've heard so far, Trivial Pursuit is out. I'm thinking Pictionary, guys versus girls, for all the marbles (I have no idea what that phrase means, but it sounded good). I've already put "two easels with felt pens" on my list of things the concierge needs to provide for the party.

Any thoughts? Any other ideas for games suitable for this group for the on-board party??

Chris

We could put a Disney twist on the Pictionary (make the answers Disney-related) & put a plate of those chocolate covered strawberries up or some good wine up for the First place winner(s)...

As for other games - How about a scavenger hunt? We could each get a list on the embarkation day & see who has the most 'items' by the party? I'd volunteer to work on setting that up.

Oh, I like those ideas!! A scavenger hunt would be really fun and could involve the kids.

Amy--I'm so sorry to hear about your burns. I hope you're feeling better each day. :flower:

Disney Pictionary sounds fantastic! DH and I LOVE Pictionary, and we can't ever get anyone to play with us. They don't share our love for games OR our love for Disney. The scavenger hunt sounds like fun too! What a fun group! :cheer2:

The DIS had posting issues this morning, so these are a bit late, but better late than never:

1) Who was the supervising Animator for Tinkerbelle in Peter Pan?
Marc Davis

2) What's Donald Duck's middle name?
Fauntleroy. Urban legend has it that Walt had a nephew named Fauntleroy & promised to use his name in a cartoon - the result was "Donald Gets Drafted" (or something like that, I don't recall the exact title) where Donald signs his induction papers "Donald Fauntleroy Duck."

3) What movie began the "second renaissance" of Feature Animation?
The Little Mermaid

4) What resorts are on the monorail line in Walt Disney World?
The Contemporary, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian

5) The "It's a Small World" Ride was originally created for what occasion?
The 1964 World's Fair. It was designed by Mary Blair & the premise is what would happen if children decided to re-create the nations of the world using the toys & dolls in their nursury.

I like the game idea -- how about Scattergories? That's a good one!

I was just checking out the DCL website and looking at the menus. Mmmm. I had a fun time looking at the theme night menus because we didn't get those on our 3 night cruise. The only menu that still didn't impress me was Palo. I guess I am more of a picky eater than I thought. Has anyone tried the Palo Brunch? What kinds of foods do they have there?

-Karen :mickeybar

I'd love to do a scavenger hunt and Pictionary! Let's play! I've done the Champagne Brunch at Palo's. Was it ever good. The food was absolutely fabulous. I'd do it again!

Thanks again for all the pixie dust!!

Darn! I posted twice! Sorry, but that does count for bumping things up to 90 pages, right?
