Good shopping at Harvey Nick's, huh? Honey, when are you going to London next? :flower3:

Well it seems we all have shopping in common along with Wine and Strawberries!! While we are on shopping -- has anyone received any shopping hints for our ports in Mexico??? Any good buys?? Stores to hit?? Stores to avoid?? :earseek: :earseek:

For Mazatlan, go to the Mazatlan thread by Mazatlan Frank. He can answer all the questions you have about shopping there. I would like to shop in PV, so if anyone has hints about shopping there I would appreciate it.

Tell us who your favorite Disney character is and why.
Belle, of course. She and I are so similar that I almost *have* to relate to her.

Well hope all are having a wonderful weekend. Sunny and a little cold in Maryland but at least we did not get the dreaded snow they predicted. Maybe spring will come after all!!

Just booked my flights and am getting really excited. Wanted non-stops as DS is a nervous flyer and wanted to minimize takeoffs and landings. Not too many to choose from BWI so ended up with Southwest. Really wanted first class but of course no such thing on Southwest but they were only the ones with decent (non-red eye) non-stops!!! Oh well it is only 5 hours so I hope my seatmates are nice -- maybe a single man!?!?!? At least there will be one -- my son!

Sorry for the rambling -- but want to get to 90 and the weekends are slow for us! Chris -- I sent a PM with my address -- not sure if I did it right (I know a computer professional who doesn't know PMing! -- but hey I was a mainframe programmer and now in management we lose all skills!). If I didn't let me know and I will try again.

Sheryl

Things are definitely slowing down on this board...so thought I'd help things a bit. We definitely want to get to 90 pages, right?

So...does everyone have their excursion decisions made? It seems like everything we want to really do is in Puerto Vallarta...but we can't do it all! We're a little nervous to do the non-Disney excursions, but with a 4 year old DS, we don't have too much of a choice. So many of the excursions involve A LOT of driving, which I know he would not enjoy. Our tentative plan right now is...

Puerto Vallarta--Dolphin Swim (myself, DD8) and Dolphin Encounter (DS4 with DH as an observer)--but the pirate ship and Las Caletas looks cool too, and DH would love to do the zip line thing!

Mazatlan--Randi's Happy Horses (though I still continue to worry about DS4!)

Cabo San Lucas--on own...water taxi over to Medano Beach, parasailing, waverunners (maybe), beach time, lunch somewhere on the beach--then water taxi over to Lover's Beach to snorkel for a couple hours before taking water taxi back to the ship.

DD really wants to snorkel, but the only snorkeling excursion I saw that would allow DS4 to go was the pirate ship...and that's in Puerto Vallarta, where they REALLY want to swim with the dolphins! So I'm hoping to be able to snorkel on our own in Cabo--just hope there's something to see!

So what are your plans?

Kim :flower:

Yes, things get really slow on the weekends.

Kim - I thought about you yesterday when we were in Rancho Cucamonga. I had planned on sending you a PM sometime last week and never got around to it. The kids didn't perform until 5:20pm so we didn't get up there until about 3:45pm. We got home around 12:30am so I'm really dragging today.

We're having a hard time with the excursion choices in Puerto Vallarta as well. The girls really want to do the Paradise Village Resort but I'm still interested in the Pirate boat excursion.

In Mazatlan we are riding with Randi and in Cabo we're going to do our own thing - probably hang out at the beach. The girls want to try parasailing and DD12 has been wanting to ride a wave runner since we almost rented one in St. Maarten.

So many decisions to make and things to do and the time is ticking down quickly.

Yeah...I think it's only like 28 days till we can reserve shore excursions! Time is flying now!!!! I better get a LITTLE more serious about the diet! :rotfl2:

Sheryl, I love your line of thinking! Been there myself!

Puerto Vallarta -- the dolpin swim sounds good! Would love to do that!

Okay, yall.... need some good cheer! A rough weekend just passed. Would you believe I have second degree burns. Had a glass pitcher explode and dump hot water into my lap?! OUCH!

May I impose on the group to send some Pixie Dust my way? Any suggestions for a good wine? One that relieves tenderness from a burn?

Hey Chris, sent ya a PM for an updated list. Thanks!

Amy, I"m so sorry about your burn... I really don't have any advice, but one who's been there SEVERAL times, I feel for you. I once was finishing off some sauteed chicken breasts in the oven and when I went to take them out of the oven. I did use a pot holder, but for some reason the pot holder failed. I'm guessing I was on the seam. Anyway, I ended up with an almost 3rd degree burn on the palm of my hand. It was awful. Luckily for me my dad is an EMT and I called him with what to do. He told me to make sure I kept it clean and to not pop any blisters that might erupt. Let it take it's own time and eventually it would get better. It hurt like the dickens and it lasted about 2 weeks. I did take a lot of Advil and that did help a little, but not much!!!

Hey everyone,

I hope y'all had a good weekend. We were down in Mexico partying with some friends, and had a great time.

Amy, ouch!!! Sorry to hear about your accident. As for a wine recommendation, whenever pitchers of hot water explode and give me second degree burns, my wine selection is usually a Rombauer Chardonnay...any vintage will do.

For those of you that have PM'd me for the latest Cheat Sheet and haven't received it, please be patient with me. Between being in Mexico and some network/firewall issues I've had since reconstituting my laptop, I haven't been able to send them all out yet, but I promise I will (hopefully tonight).

Chris

I'm at home this week, trying very hard to keep still. Two weeks for a palm to heal? Oh my!

Okay, a quick call to my wine-delivery guy will be made this morning!

Since the skin on the palm of your hand is so tough, since it is your hand, I'm guessing that's why it took much longer to heal. I've gotten burns on my arms before and they're usually better in a few days. I wish I would have used the wine therapy, but as a professional mom taxi, not something I can partake in.

Amy I think that aloe from the plant its self really helps. You have to get a farly mature open one of the leaves or spikes and squeese the inner juice over the burn it should help with the pain and help the healing

The ER nurse recommended an aloe gel to prevent scaring. Picked up a bottle from Target. Looks like a drug store at my house right now: special cream during the day, aloe gel at nite, and pills to fight off infection. Plus the gauze and tape. And a few cold showers (no jokes please!). The wine-therapy hasn't start yet...,

Thanks everyone!!! I can feel the pixie dust!

Who's up for some Disney trivia? If these are too easy....?

1. What's the name of the tiger in The Jungle Book?
2. According to The Ballad of Davy Crockett, how old was Crockett when he killed his first beaer?
3. In The Little Mermaid, who does King Triton charge with looking after Ariel and keeping her out of trouble?

Would anyone be game for a group shopping spree at one of the ports? Clothes, jewelry, etc.... count me in!

1 Sher Khan

2 He was only 3

3 Sebastian

Shopping's good, provided I can get away from the little one (or park her at a beach with dad somewhere).... :goodvibes

Here are some more Trivia Questions:

1) Who was the supervising Animator for Tinkerbelle in Peter Pan?

2) What's Donald Duck's middle name?

3) What movie began the "second renaissance" of Feature Animation?

4) What resorts are on the monorail line in Walt Disney World?

5) The "It's a Small World" Ride was originally created for what occasion?

Do you ever play the Disney Trivial Pursuit game to get pie pieces for NOT knowing the answer (obviously this depends on the honor system)? My friend Cybele & I both know enough about Disney that this is the only way to make the game a challenge for us...
