July 9th 2005 - West Coast Cruise.

Hey guys...the posts are sure slowing down! I don't think we're meeting our daily minimum! :rolleyes1

Sara---we're planning on spending the day at the parks on the 21st--let us know if lunch is a go and where!

Anybody do any more thinking about excursions? Do you have plans nailed down or are you still searching for non-disney options? Any new "finds" to share?

I read on another thread that there will be a new show for the west coast cruises...a big birthday celebration for Mickey. That should be great!

I'm anxious to hear when formal/semi-formal and other theme nights are so I can plan for Palo. Any of you have suggestions on when to do Palo so as not to miss anything really cool?

Kim

Hey Kim,
Even though it may seem slow, except for Saturday, we've pretty much been hitting the pace we need. Yours was the 7th post today, and this makes 8. If we keep it up, I'm confident we will make our 90 pages!!. So, Kim, you should start thinking about what type of libation you want to burden my on-board tab with!! :drinking:

However, it must be said: We can not rest on our laurels--the posting must go on!!! OK, I know that's corny, but you must understand that I'm in a good mood since I narrowly escaped death yesterday :cool1: :cool1:

Here's an excursion question, most likely for the guys: do any of you and your DS/DD's play golf? Soccermom will probably tomahawk this idea, but DS and I like to play whenever we can, and there are golf excursions at several of the ports of call. Assuming we can clear it with the "high command" (the DWs), perhaps we can get a foursome or more together.

Chris

Chris-- I'm so glad you escaped unharmed!!! And I'll have to start thinking about what that libation should be! :cool1:

Kim

Real quick: I called by TA and asked her to book my excursions. She informed me to hold off because her sources (which have been VERY reliable in the past) indicated that Disney will be adding additional excursions for the West Coast. Has anyone else heard this?

Our (actually my DW's) Excursion Plan (not including golf-part of DW's master plan):
Cabo Beach Break (first attempt to make-up for not going to Castaway Cay)
Mazatlán Beach Escape (second attempt)
Pirate Sail & Snorkel Adventure (final attempt)

No Randy I hadn't heard that, but a Lover's Beach excursion on Cabo would be GREAT though!!! We're pretty set with our excursions:

Puerta Vallarta: Las Caletas
Matzatlan: Randi's Happy Horses
Cabo: As of right now, Medano Beach then water taxi over to Lover's Beach.

I still haven't headed over to Jose Tejas.... Hopefully soon though, considering it's only about 35 minutes from my house I'd have wandered over there.....

Sorry, Chris. Stu is definitely NOT a golfer. Not a sports person altogether -- doesn't play, doesn't watch He's played volleyball once in a while, but was injured the last time he played. So, I'm afraid he's not gonna be one of your foursome, but good luck!

Stealing a line from Rachel our cruise director on the Magic in November...

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this is your Cruise Director Lori. It seems that everyone on this thread has fallen asleep, so I'm here to give all you a wake up call!"

I'm still waiting to hear from our California contingent re: President's day weekend... I have 2 yeses & one regret from New Jersey. I guess I'll consider this the last call & put together an itenerary for those coming once we know the final count.

Sara - I really wish I could come!! Maybe I could sneak away for the weekend...... :rotfl: :rotfl: Anyone willing to charter a jet for me!! :earseek:

Once I figure out the technical bit, I promise I'll post pictures of whoever does show up in February, so you'll feel like you've been there, Lori. Don't feel too bad about missing us, though, since it looks like you're going to WDW in March sometime.

Huh, what???!!!???

Did someone say "last call"? Oh, geez... um, OK, I'll take a glass of Cakebread chardonnay....

...oh, sorry. You mean for DL. You have us in, I assume?
Chris

Ok, I've been out of the loop because of some stuff going on here but I'm back!

Sara - We won't be able to make it to DL when you're there because our passes are blocked out on the weekend and I have to work on that Monday. :sad2:

We won't be able to make it either--our passes our blocked out too. :sad2: Would love to see some pictures, though.

We *could* do something for Lunch sometime that weekend at Downtown Disney & then press on to the parks for those who have passes...

Just a thought.

Sara

Sara,
One way for us to get to our 90 pages more quickly is to suggest times, dates, and places back and forth repeatedly until we find a combination that works for everyone!!! :rolleyes1

I'll start: How about Sunday, 12:30PM, at Rainforest Cafe'??

Chris

Chris,
You don't mention whether you want to put in some park time or not, but as far as my family goes 12:30 on Monday will work. Mike will be thrilled, because he'll take any excuse to eat at the Rainforest (tho' we liked it better before it was bought by the conglomerate that now owns it). My only caveat for that time is that we'll probably have to bail one parent + Lexi not much later than 3:00, since that's about the limit we can push her nap time to before she gets too cranky.

Sara

I'll have to clear it with upper management (i.e. soccermom), but I imagine we'll definitely want to do some park time. As for your 3PM deadline, the only time we take more than an hour to eat a midday meal is when we're at Palo's (that's two hours, at least!!).

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys.
