July 9 Wonder Cruise to Alaska

I'm not sure what to do about all that. What are they for? I looked at FEs, but not sure how much to get into it all. I guess my kids will want to. Need to find the thread....

Well the FEs are for us if we want to do that? I am willing to participate but if it is just to two of us? I don't see a point. Anyone out there lurking that is on our cruise want to participate in Fish Extenders?

As for the door magnets, I highly recommend them. Your boys will love them. I have not posted enough here to post a photo of our door from the last cruise but they are fun. They just have to be magnets. As i understand it, taping things to the doors is frowned on since it ruins the paint.

We appear to have a highly inactive thread ;) I am going to skip the FE because I just think I'm going to have so much stuff to pack with two small children that I don't want to mess with having even more "stuff" to keep track of :)

Looking for magnet threads but only can find the one with graphics and can't deal with looking at all of them. Will the boys really notice if I don't do them?

I cannot sift through all the threads about excursions. Which ones do you guys think sound good? We don't even have our cruise docs yet.

MTA: I think we are going to do White Pass RR

How was the Dream? I have only been on the Magic. I do hope to get on one of the new ships....some day.

Does anybody know if they have any theme nights? Like the Pirate night? I am not sure where to get that information and my travel agent hasn't been too helpful

The Dream was AWESOME. Best trip me and the family ever had. It was our first cruise ever and I was afraid the kids or wife would experience motion sickness but after the first day, that worry disappeard and we just really relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. I have to say my fondest memory was Castaway Cay.
I recommend getting on the Dream or Fantasy any chance you get.

So far, the feedback on the Alaska cruise sounds great. Cant wait. only a month away!

Twopeasonepod: We are going to do the following excursions:

Skagway: Yukon Tour and White Pass RR: We booked this through Chillcoot tours. We take a bus on the way up through the Canadian Yukon, stop and have lunch and take a dog cart ride, and then take the RR on the way down.

Juneau: Whale watching with Harv & Marv

Ketchikan: I can't remember what this is called, but it is through Disney. We walk to a nature/wildlife area. It's pretty low-key.

Victoria: Butterfly House and Buschart Gardens

I am so excited...

I'm so excited! Booked 3-Port Adventure (WPRR with exclusive kid activity, Best of Juneau, and Totems, Lumberjack Show, and Potlatch Park). I think we are also going to do the Castle tour in Victoria. If not, then the double decker tour.

I can't believe there are so few of us posting haha.

We are on this cruise! DH, me, our twin six-year-old boys, my mom, and stepdad. I'm part of the "Psychiatry Cruise" for CMEs on board, so watch out for all of us psychiatrists and psychologists!
That sounds great! Are there CME's for LCSWs?

Hey is there anyone out there booked on this cruise? I keep lurking and looking to see if anyone has started a thread....and here I am ... barely computer literate
Hello! I have just joined tonight and this is my family's first cruise!!! Going with the hubby, 2 daughters (4 & 6) and my mom :)

We are soooo excited and have absolutely NO CLUE what we are doing!

Totally exciting, yeah??? My recommendations (which you should take with a grain of salt since this is the first time I've cruised with my kids along) are:

1) Make sure you have the proper clothing and footwear -- being uncomfortable is not fun.

2) Take breaks and make sure your kids get enough rest -- even though it's going to be amazing, tired and grumpy kids are challenging in every environment.

3) Have fun!

Oh, and 4) Bring your own alcohol in your carry-on!!! Since Disney allows this, I am stoked! That is usually the bulk of my ship expenses haha.

Forgot to add that I am now doing magnets. Milliepie's thread has so many graphics! And I am fortunate enough that my kids (with pretty uncommon names) already have premade stuff!

Two weeks before we leave for Seattle. I don't know about you guys but this vacation can't come soon enough! :)

Hi! I am a newbie, and may be WAY too late here, but am just reading all about Fish Extender groups and would LOVE to join one.

1. Is it too late?
2. Where do I find a group?

Hi everyone, My family and I (DH, DD9 and DS5) will be cruising along with you. Just a little over a week....can't wait.

I'm making FEs but completely forgot that these boards exist. Sounds like no one is interested???? That's ok if not, I was going to do it with another family coming with us.

This is our second DCL. Did Eastern Caribbean several years ago. That "once in a lifetime cruise" turned in to "just one more." DCL is soooo expensive but worth it!

Quiet board, huh? Can't believe I caught up in one sitting.

Hi all - just joined the boards although I've been lurking for years! ;) My husband, me, our three boys, my parents and my sister are all going on the July 9 cruise! Wanted to say hello. Really embarrassed to ask, what are FEs? I'm already starting to look into my door magnets. A little late to the party, but I've still got one week to get it all done!

FE= Fish Extender. On the side of each cabin door is metal fish you can hang things from. It's a mailbox of sorts.

This is my second cruise but first time on the boards so I'm not able to post a link to show you a picture. Hopefully someone will come along soon so you can get a visual of what I'm talking about.

On the boards people will sign up and give out their cabin number along with the ages of the kids and arrange to drop by each other's cabin to drop token gifts in to the mailbox. It's fun!

I was hoping I could get a few families to agree but it's a bit late in the game now. (I'm still open to it....we can keep it simple, people!)

Safe travels! I'm sure you're as excited as I am.
