July 6th 2006....I can't be the only one??

Glad to see some activity churning in here! Hey did ya hear? The pirate ship that was in the POTC 2 Dead mans chest movie....is docked at Castaway Cay!

It is supposed to "reside" there all summer! This will definitely be a very cool cruise! Between the movie & the ship at Castaway Cay.....Pirate night will definitely be big!

Lvaugh, nice coincidence that we have sons the same age (well sorta, mine just turned 9 in June) it would make my sons day to make a friend on board. He's always jealous of his sisters penpals.

Oh, I sent pirate night menu link to my mom...lol she emailed me back with her choices for dinner that night and asked if we could go now!!

We are planning on going to a pirate museum that I heard about in Nasauu, it sounds cool and we didnt want to do any major excursions...not after 9 days in Orlando doing all the parks.

Marilou,
Just wanted you to know that we don't get the "Pirate night menu" on the 3 day. Only on the 4 day. The only thing we get are bandanas at dinner, that's it...no special menu.
We also did the Pirate musuem in Nassau. It was neat. My kids really enjoyed it and they were 14 and 7.

Darn! I will have to break it to my mom gently...lol Any menu after 9 days eating WDW park food will be heavenly!!!

well just another reason (besides the 10% discount) to book a 7 day!!!!

Can you guys give me some more information about the pirate museum on Nassau? We're doing snorkeling there in the morning, but our afternoon is free. Thanks!

Sure. I'm going from memory not my Passporter though. It's a very short walk from the port, there were signs directing us to it and a Pirate standing outside. You enter a gift shop to pay for your tour and get a wristband. The tour is self guiding and there are descriptions of what you are seeing. Toward the end a Pirate joined us and we took a picture. I think we were there about 30-45 min. The price wasn't bad and it was neat to see.

Thanks for the info, Mom2of2!

A quick Google search turned up this link (apparently I can't post web links yet):

pirates-of-nassau [dot] com

The museum is within walking distance of the straw market. There's a map on the website. It's $12 for adults and $6 for kids 3-18. We're definitely planning on going there.

Thanks again!

Hi all
We are out the door at 5:30 am tommorow (28th)for a visit to WDW before the cruise. If we don't meet up (I know its a big ship!) Have a Wonderfull cruise!

We start our journey on 7/1. We are flying in at night staying at the Best Western Airport Inn in Orlando. On 7/2, it's four wonderful nights at Disney and Caribbean Beach Resort. Finally, on July 6th, myself, husband, and two daughters set sail on our first cruise. We are in 6060.
I also received some info from Small World Vacations about the Flying Dutchman being at Castaway Cay and the PremEAR at Sea of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" being shown on the Wonder at 12:01am July 7th. Finally, all guest aboard Disney Cruise Line will receive commemorative buttons and pirate-themed temporary tattoos.
To everyone cruising on July 6th, here's to a wonderful time.

Hey all!!! Our husbands are still clueless!!!!!!! If you see two big guys together with no wives or children chances are they belong to us. Their names are Scott and Mike. Please speak to them!! They are very talkative and would get a kick out of someone coming up to them and letting them know that you knew the surprise 1st!!!!
We're very excited about a ship from the movie being at CC!!!!! :cheer2:
I hope you all have a great time. It is the best vacation ever!!!!! :thumbsup2

Ok I have to tell you that my mom & I said from the beginning that this would be our only cruise...mostly due to money.
We had sooo much fun that on the DCL bus on the way to the airport...we made up our minds to book a 7 night cruise for next year!!!

LVaughn, it was great to meet up with you on board even if was only for a few minutes. My daughter (age 12) & I went to the midnight premear of POTC 2, but I def won't do anything like that again. She was ruined for the next day and couldn't enjoy the pirate party as much as she should have. Loved the Castaway Cay day! Loved the personal attention from our servers. Loved the food. Loved Travis at bingo (I won $131!) Loved the verhanda!
Loved the whole dang experience!!!

We did the 12:01 POC2 as well and although it was great I was exhausted as well. By the time I got to sleep it was 4am and then was awake by 6:30 (darn internal clock!) Yesterday when I got home at 9am I went back to bed and slept on and off the rest of the day.
Marilou...if you can swing the deposit, call DCL asap and see if you can still get the 10% rebooking discount that they offer on board.
This was my 2nd DCL cruise, my 1st being in November and I have a 3rd this November so yeah...it's addicting!!!!
