Here is one of the first pictures from my new camera. I can't wait to take it on vacation.

DSC_0005.jpg

Great photo...I like the bee...I have a Nikon D40x and love it. Seems like when you buy a new camera the next day another model comes out. I have read my owners manual over and over and still can't remember all the buttons.

"dad of lost boys"....YEAH.:cool1:.. we can dine together again! Eleni will be thrilled when I tell her....

Sorry I have not been on the boards...this past month has been awful for our family.. Our DD has been sick and into ER 2 times in one week..they think she has gallbladder issues...at 19 years old!....there isn't a test left to run that she hasn't had done...then she got laid off from California Pizza Kitchen for going home sick..one of the days we took her to ER...
And then in the middle of all that my father in law was also in ER 2 times..but that last time he didn't come home...We lost him on April 1st and have been trying to deal with it since. Her was 89 and was doing well until this last month. His lungs just failed.... DD is really having a hard time. He lived just 2 houses away. I've been home from work ever since but must go back on Monday..unless AT&T goes on strike...then I will have more time off but unpaid this time...
Ok...so that was my month....really need a vacation...we go in May to Disneyland so that will be nice...

We went to DLP back in 1996 and stayed on property (traded DVC points for it) we took the train to London then after a visit there.
I would like to trade a Marriott timeshare and go the DLP the week before the cruise...or even use Marriott points...We also plan on using American Airline miles for the trip. They can do a open jaw with points. You fly into Paris and out of London. That is what we did before....and we also did that for the Med trip in '07. It worked out great...
You can only book airfare 11 months out. Marriott is 12 months I think...need to start researching....

ttyl.....for those celebrating Easter tomorrow....Happy Easter....:flower3:
we celebrate next week as we are Greek Orthodox....good for us because everything goes on sale Monday!

Denise, my sympathies to you on the loss of your FIL. It is always painful no matter the age of your loved one. Hugs to you all..

Denise - sorry to read about your family's loss of your FIL. I hope you guys can find out what is going on with your DD's health, too.

We had a great time on our spring break at Hilton Head (OurDogCisco - thanks for posting on our trip report). It was exactly the break we needed to recharge.

This time next year we'll be past the final payment due day and into full-on planning for excursions, etc. We are still working hard to make this happen for us ... the Easter Bunny isn't leaving much in the boys' baskets tonight.

HAPPY EASTER

Denise - I am so sorry to hear the sad news and hope your dd is keeping well...

OurDogCisco - I am happy for you to got change dining seats...

nzdisneymom - Are you going on Freedom on the Sea this year?

We just back from North as we went away for a week break...

On cruise critic I've read that you need to allow 3 hours for check-in for your flight going home. I've also read to take the train from Dover to the Airport takes about 3 hours (assuming you don't miss any connections). I was thinking of taking the train but then, I thought with 2 kids in tow (ages 9 and 12 it might not be the best idea). We'll have luggage. So, is anyone doing using DCL Transportation? With all the flight times I see it is gonna be tough to get to the airport by 11 am from Dover. I'm wondering if Disney will get you there quicker. But I also read on cruise critic that the bus takes loner than the train. And, I also read there is suppose to be a super fast train in 2010 that will only 40 minutes. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks, Tina

Tina, I love to read Cruise Critic... I often spend my times to read it...

anyway, are you flight out on same day after depart the Cruise? If so, better book private taxi - transportation? Please check the price before you book it. As I am sorry that there will be no DCL transportation not like in Florida. As far, I remember that in Med 07 at Barcelona... I hope someone can help you.. as I have not heard about super fast train in 2010 as it seem interest news...

PS .. yes three hours to check in for usa...

Thank you everyone for your kind words....

Well we were at ER again today with Eleni...fever, side pain...all the same symptons. DH went to church, it was our palm Sunday..I stayed home and took care of her and her dr called and said take her in...I'm going to own the ER soon with all these co-payments! It was so hard being at the hospital again after what happened last week. Many of our friends came from church to see her. One friend is a Dr. and that was so cool. She introduced herself to the Dr. in ER and asked so many questions and went with Eleni too when she got her ultrasound. They have always been good but this time I think they explained things better. Everytime they said something I didn't understand I would look at her and she would say that sounds resonable. She said she was like the dad on meet the parents...always watching them....and they knew it!!!!

Her liver tests are still elevated but way better than the last test two weeks ago. They want to do a "hida scan" or Cholescintigraphy on the gallblader. She has another dr apt this wed...so we will know more then...

Hope everyone had a good Easter...it's 80 here today...hope it will be like this next week when we celebrate Greek Easter...

I just made my first official cruise purchase. A Nikon D80 from EBAY. I got a great deal. I was lightly used, but had a scratch so it went for $3-400 less than they have been selling for. Now I just have to figure out how to work the dang thing.

You are going to love this camera. It is so easy to use (as you can see from the pic you took). We bought a bigger lens for it when Circuit City was going out of business so now we're all set. It's a great camera.

Omgosh... Denise... It sounds like you guys are going through a lot right now. I hope you figure out how to ease up her pain. I'm also sorry for your loss.

If you want to go to DLP and the cost was reasonable I would fly into Paris then fly out of London. If that's too expensive. You could fly into London and take the Chunnel train. You have to change trains in Paris. It is a lot of fun. Coming back the train actually stops in Dover so you just need a transfer to the port. DLP is a blast and definitely worth the time.
Hmmmm... that really does give me something to think about. Thanks...

Well... per the advice of somebody on Cruise Critic I called DCL and they said that the latest you'll be let off the ship is 8 am. I guess, in England since the docks are so far from the airport, Cruise lines do dock around 5 or 6 am and you are cleared to go off no later than 8 am. DCL said not to book a flight before noon. So, I think, we'll be okay with the same day flight home. I really don't want to spend another night because it is such a waste of money.

Denise so sorry about ya'lls loss.

The company Matt was working for laid everybody off last Friday so he is back to job hunting. I don't know how it is in other places but the economy in this area is just getting worse. Since we are all adults we decided that there would be no gifts of any kind for any celebrating until this cruise. We really want to go but with Matt losing his jobs and none around here to be found I just don't know. If we can borrow whats left of our 09, 10, 11 DVC points then i can cover all but one person and we will be able to go. If not then it was not meant to be.

Hello

Can you book flight later? If not, I hope you all manage it... I understand that you go straight home after the Cruise...

And

About Paris - London

I think Paris is very expensive than London...

Ian think both same... depend on euros....

I had been in Paris Disneyland with kids for 5 days and I think it was very expensive and it is smaller than Florida and LA... Free bus go around to disney hotel to park etc or walk to Disneyland....

I was reading the forum that you spoked to Andrew UK and I hope he help you out for traffic in London... as I live in Scotland and not know much of London...

Hi there,
We are booked on this cruise, however we didn't book quickly enough to get a category 3. If anyone has a category 3 and will be cancelling the reservation, please PM me so I can try to have my agent scoop it up! I have the last 2 connecting Verandah's (Navigators) on the ship - if you are interested - you can PM me and I'll let you know if we wind up dropping them. My kids just found out about Disney going to Europe and think it will be the coolest - of course it will be my DH and my secret for a bit longer!
Thanks so much!

Hi guys! Been a while since I checked in here. I'm sure you've forgotten all about us by now. Life has just been so hectic. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to try to get a little caught up soon. :goodvibes

I think everybody has something going on...life is very hectic for a lot of people right now for a lot of different reasons. For me, my DH is commuting to Boston every week...from southern California. If we didn't have a DS and 2 DDogs, I would just fly out and stay with him. Jack is in the 2nd grade. :teacher: If the STAR testing wasn't looming over his head I would pull him out of school. He is a GATE candidate right now so this year the testing is important for him even though it doesn't apply towards the API scores at this grade level. Jack and I will just have to wait until the first week of June to fly out. He will be done with school by then.

The cruise is still over a year away. I suspect by this time next year we will all be super chatty. Or even after the summer is over when those of us booking air and hotel on our own have actually booked...we can't until August. Once that is done, it will seem more concrete.
