I haven't even though about gifts for christmas. The Christmascruise is our big gift but i would still like my mom and Matt to have a few little things to open christmas day. Mom's 60th birthday is also right before we leave so I've got to think about that to. As fro saving for this crusie we started a seprate saving account and have managed to put a litle into it. Hopefully starting in January we will be able to add to it regular.

Love all the costume pics.

I officially put my first $20 into my savings for the cruise. Woo hoo! I also found my coin Euros from the Med. cruise so I will keep those with the stash as well.

Tomorrow and Tuesday are parent/teacher conferences and knock on wood, I still have a few openings to breathe and get a few things done in between appointments. :teacher:

Hi Jeff,
Westfield owns our mall too! They didn't build it but came in a couple of years after and now they are expanding it. They own so many of the malls in California...and all are very nice.
That would be fun to see. Once in Newcastle England we went to their mall and there was an amusement park in it...and this was in 1988! We rode a roller coaster in a mall....what a trip..
Would love to see the Mall of America someday too.

It is so funny to think about the fact that people travel to Minnesota to go to the Mall of America. We live less than 10 miles away and it is the mall I run to pick up a few items. With that said it is a great mall and my kids LOVED the rides when they were little. If anyone decides to do a Mall of America Trip please let me know and I will take you around.

We're doing something a bit different for Christmas this year as the kids are getting older so they are harder to buy for. Of course we're going on our cruise which is the BIG surprise, but we still want to have a few things for them to unwrap when they get home. Anyway, Zachary likes playing some of the online games that require subscriptions for the beyond-basic versions - like ToonTown Central, Pirates of the Cariibbean, Club Penguin... so we are going to give him a year's subscription -- he can divide it up however he wants - a year of one, four months for three, six months for two... and we don't have to start January - just whenever they fall.

We started our saving jars yesterday, and each boy has been able to add some money to their jars already. Yay!

True, get harder when kids get older and more expensive well.

I cannot beleive that Xmas is coming as my in law bought Box 360 for Keith for Xmas so we just buy one game or two and it is small present this time as managed to save up some money for this Cruise. I cut down go out on Sat night and stayed home last weekend as it was nice warm to watch tv xfactor.

Olivia have the piggy bank and she saved up good so start to tight up now, cutting down spend the money.

Both my kids know this Christmas won't be too lavish. We're buying less. I think lots of people are scared, including us. It seems irresponsible to go crazy with so many losing their homes or jobs. We're thankful for what we have. Besides, kids get overwhelmed with lots of presents! Or, at least that's the story I'm sticking with!!

Okay... here are my kiddos from Halloween... My youngest was Queen of Hearts. I sewed the costume myself. It was very challenging for my skill level.

Then, my oldest was Dorothy...

Happy Halloween....

hmmmmmmm!!!! that obviously didn't work. i will have to try a different avenue.

OurDogCisco - amazing job!!

Our most interesting trick or treater this year was the teenage girl who lives next door that kept coming back. She must think we don't know who she is - lol!

We had some really cute kids though!

I guess... she thought she was pulling one on you...

I asked Jimmy if he heard of Farnborough and he just looked at me with that duh look and said, well yeah, that's where the SR-71, number 17972, landed after it broke the transatlantic world record on Sept. 1st, 1974, why?

I said, with my there's more useless information look, there is an air show there and it starts the day after we get back from the cruise. I told him it's only there every other year. He said of course it is because the other year it's in Paris. He then went on to tell me the entire story of the SR-71, and how it was announced that it had taken off from New York at the beginning of the air show and that it was landing there at Farnborough. I told him...you can't remember what you wore to church last week but you can remember this?
Maybe we could send the boys to this? :confused3

:rotfl2:
Since he is so full of useful information, ask him if he knows where I was at 4:30am on March 6, 1990.:rotfl:

My first time loading pictures. I hope I've done it correctly.

These are the costumes I made for my kids the afternoon of Halloween using only materials I had available in the house. I finished about 30 minutes before trick-or-treat started. We were lucky we started trick-or-treat right on time because it started raining just as we finished. I don't think her box would have lasted long in it.

Hello! Please add "njdisneyfans" to this thread. We are past DCL alumni -- the last trip was the Mediterranean cruise during its inaugural summer. It was the best. Can't wait for this one!! P.S. Since you are new to DCL, you may want to send a note to our fellow passengers who would like to participate in a "fish extender" program while we sail as is done on other DCL sailings. You can do a search for "fish extender" on the boards and you should be able to come up with plenty of answers. It's early on the trip, of course, but discussion of it and looking for Disney-related goodies will help while away the time! Just a suggestion....

Hello

I made my fish extender for Panama last May. I can use it again for this Cruise.

It was great as the children loved it. It was a great idea.

I made a fish extender for our upcoming Christmas cruise. For our last cruise (3-nights on the Wonder), we just used a small fabric bag - we only had four families participating but it was still fun.

njdisneyfans - welcome to the thread!

Welcome njdisneyfans!

I have not done a fish extender yet. Always bring gifts and usually distribute at the DIS meets. But I am thinking we may give it a try this time!

Did everyone vote? Here in Chicago they are expecting 1 million people at Obama's celebration downtown. Streets being closed as we speak here... I will be home watching returns later tonite.

Here's the link to article on Stockholm in the November issue of Traveler magazine. I finally remembered to look it up. We cashed in some CokeRewards points for our subscription.

Welcome NJDisneyfans! We used our fish extender on the Transatlantic and we're planning on bringing it again for this cruise.

I'm waiting for mt husband to come home from work so we can go vote together. I hope it's not too crowded. Schools were closed here today. I brought 5 girls to see High School Musical 3. It was cute. I tried not to sing or dance along..:rolleyes1
