July 5th Dream

Hi, I'm trying to confirm if everyone listed on the FE exchange list in the FE thread is still participating. Please respond to my PM if you have not already done so.

thanks, ellen

Ok, I'm getting ready to try to book Palo, and I was thinking the first night. Has anyone done this? I saw on another thread that the rotation will be restaurant repeat on nights 1 & 5 and 3 & 4. Night 3 is dress up night and 4 is the Pirate menu.

I wouldn't mind missing the dress up night, but that will be the only night that the restaurant menu is offered, and I've already picked out what I'm eating in each restaurant:lmao:

Who's doing Palo, and when?

Lisa

We are doing Palo on night 3 and Remy on night 5, we made sure our dining rotation will start with AP so we didnt miss the show or Pirate night. Dont care about semi formal night since we are going to Remy.

Hi Lisa, we are doing a Palo brunch on the sea day. My DH enjoys having dinner in the main dining rooms and doesn't want to miss that.

ellen

We enjoy the main dining rooms too, as that is usually the only time we get to see our son! LOL, he's "required" to eat dinner with us, and "requested" to eat breakfast and lunch with us!

I may try for the brunch when I get on board.

Whatever happens, I'm not going to stress it. At least, once I get on board, lol.

Lisa

Ok, now I am getting excited!

Our plan so far:

Arriving in WDW via Southwest Airlines July 2.

Staying at Saratoga Springs with a waitlist at BLT! Come on, somebody cancel, :goodvibes

July 3 lunch at LeCellier and Dinner at the Cali Grill 9:20. High price to pay to see the fireworks, lol.

I haven't finalized our plans to get from WDW to the port. That will depend on if I can get Palo reservations on April 6. If I can get them, we'll probably do Disney transport.

Anyone staying at WDW that might want to share a ride, let me know. We have three people so getting a transportation service is just barely cost effective.

We have main dining and 9 pm show time.

Can't wait to meet everyone! Are we meeting onboard any where yet?

Hi Lisa,

we are arriving at disney friday night, july 1. staying at animal kingdom lodge. the family we are traveling with are DVC members. thinking about going to a water park one day and the regular parks the other two days. we also have ressies for lunch at le cellier and have dinner ressies for ohanas.

Hi, i saw on the castaway cay cabanas thread that you are renting cabana #3 for both days. the family we are cruising with has rented cabana #4 for both days. looks like we will be neighbors.

Lucky you!!! I so want to do brunch...hoping to get a ressie when I can start booking (which will be soon!) or when we board. ;)

I was hoping that since we were going to be at Castaway Cay that I would be able to snag a cabana for one day...but I see people are renting them for both days. Not looking good...

went online this morning and was able to book everything I needed to book and did online check in. had no problem with disney's website.

for fish extender exchange, I still need to hear from kristen87, jsolar, floridaminnie, tequilamamacita and ericandkelly. please let me know if you are still participating.

thanks, ellen

Great! :yay: Did you have to choose an arrival time for the port? If so, what were your choices?

I had to pick an arrival time. they are in half hour intervals starting with 10:30 - 11:00.

ellen

are you paid in full? just asking cuz if i have to pay in full is it worth it to pay early to get a better port time?

You do have to be PIF in order to participate in online check in however you still have to wait for your "date" to open up. I am PIF but a first time cruiser so I can not participate in online check in until 4/21 (75 days) or book excursions.

I also went on line at 12:01 and booked what I wanted. I didn't check in as I was tired but will do that now so that I can pick my port time. It is getting close now!

For those of you wondering, there are still plenty of reservations for shore excursions and dinning left.

Thank you for the info! The ONLY thing my DD wants to do is swim with the dolphins. This is her birthday trip (she turns 17 on sea day) and I am worried that since we are 1st timers it will be all booked up. She'll do either Blue Lagoon or Atlantis what ever is available.

I posted a long time ago on this thread, but have not kept up because I just wasn't sure what all was happening here in my life!

Originally, we were bringing a friend for each of my daughters (celebrating 16th and 21st birthdays), then the friend for my eldest didn't think she could make it, but finally decided she was not coming. Ok, eldest daughter is sad, but understands. The path you think your life is taking changes over a two year span, especially if you are making future decisions while in high school not knowing the commitments of college.

Then my mom, who has Alzheimer's disease, moved in with us. That was fun! I booked a cabin for her, because we can't leave her home alone, as I am her caregiver. Last month, my mom decided there is no way she is going with us. Good thing I hadn't made final payment on her cabin yet!

I am now looking for a caregiver for her while we are gone, and am back to two cabins, traveling with my DH, DD 16, DD 20, and DD 16's best friend. I will not cancel this trip that my daughters have been looking forward to taking for the last 4 years!

Then yesterday I receive a call that a concierge cabin we had waitlisted for was available. Oh boy! Might be changing these plans again. But then I received the price, and oh my it was not the price it was when booking first opened up and I was thinking about that cabin! Spending about $6,000 more is just not something I am interested in at this time. That was an easy decision!

So now I think I am ready to come back and perhaps meet some people that will be on my family's cruise. I will not allow any more changes to my plans!

I see that many of you have plans in place already for your time before the cruise, so I will chime in too!

We are actually traveling with our dog and first spending a few days in Cape San Blas, FL. The girls wished to vacation with their dog at least once, so we thought why not now? Pet friendly beach, pet friendly condo, hopefully pet friendly drive down from northern IL!

We are then going to AKV - Kidani, and boarding our dog in the Disney Kennel. We arrive on July 2nd. Not sure where we are going for the fireworks, but I do know we will be visiting our dog during the day before we finally head out for the cruise. I will miss my puppy, but at least we will only be gone from her for 5 days instead of 12!

I think I would like to be a part of the fish extender exchange, but I have no clue how it all works. Is this something that would be good to do with three older girls? Does it take up much time? I suppose I should go read the thread on the fish extenders to find out!

So there you have it, the luvavacation family is paid and ready to go! And if anyone wants to stay behind and live with my mom for two weeks, give me a call! My backyard pool is bigger than the ship's adult pool from what I see! :lmao:
