July 5th Dream

Thought I would say hi rather than just lurking! I have yet to start packing but starting to make mental lists. I guess it is time to start since I will be checking in at the SSR exactly a week from today! This will be the first Disney Cruise for the whole family and my girls first cruise (ages 6 and 3)!!

Ohhh boy... Ok ladies/ gents how many shoes to pack.
Birks for CC and loafing
Flats to travel
Heels....... so far I have two pairs... do I need sneakers?
Kids... one sandal one good pair?

Out fits...man I have packed A LOT.

If Im not wearing a costume on Pirate night, what do people wear?
I also am bringing my wedding night peignoir...ohhh dh will like that!!!

Took my Dad back to his house yesterday -- now I can concentrate on packing for my trip! We leave on Friday -- I can hardly wait!

FE gifts bagged and tagged finally!! :woohoo: So glad that is done and I don't have to worry about it! Now all that is left to do is pack!!! We fly to Orlando Thurdsday! Oh, I almost forgot...need to schedule the Mickey call! Better get that done now. Happy packing everyone!! :cool2:

Dylcal - glad to hear your Dad is well enough to go home. Let the packing commence!

Tequilamamacita - If you don't wear a pirate outfit, I think something casual works, too, like jeans and colourful shirt. At least, that is what I have seen on the other Disney cruises. Not sure if that has changed, but really I think casual is the norm on Pirate Night.

dlhvac - don't worry, let the porters carry it all! Problem solved!;)

All these phone calls and preparations for the kids (and adults) sound fun! Makes me want grandchildren so I can do all of it again!

My little girl (ok, she is almost 21, but still my little girl) is on her way home from her 6 month internship at Disney! DH flew down this afternoon, she had her last day of work today, and they just barely fit everything into her car and are driving straight through! An adventure for sure! Best part is, I have Family Locator on our phones, so I can see where they are! I love modern techonology!

Dh said he is very uncomfortable, as he has to hold a 12 pound Iguana on his lap in the passenger seat. I really do hope he is joking and she isn't really bringing home an Iguana?

I do know DD is bringing home some lizards, which I am fine with, many plants, also fine with, and a "really neat looking spider". :scared1: I don't do spiders. So glad I am not the one driving home with her, because that spider would not be in the car with me! And it is definitely NOT coming in my house!

I am so excited she is finally coming home, that I haven't even gone to bed yet. Instead, I have been tackling my pre-trip jobs. Floors have been washed, bedding in the hamster cage is changed, realized the Hermit Crab died (yesss! he was really mean) so had to freeze his body so DD can bury him when she gets home, cleaned the bathrooms, and did some other stuff that I don't remember 'cause I am old.

Still have to clean out and freshen DD's bedroom, need to wash carpets upstairs (three cats, hairballs happen), oh and there is that big pile of stuff that is waiting for me to go through and decide what is being packed and what isn't. Other than my dinner outfits, I haven't even decided on what other clothes to bring, nor shoes. I hope I get around to doing that soon!

Oh yeah, the guest room needs to be freshened up for the housesitter.

And oh my gosh, I completely neglected finishing my Fish Extenders! :headache: I have the gifts, but still can't figure out the Extenders! Ruined the first ones, and have been ignoring them ever since. I truly amaze myself by how un-crafty I am! Add those Fish Extenders to my list too!

Snorkel gear too! Mustn't forget that! I just keep remembering things as I read all your posts!

So much to do, so little time left to do it all in. And yet, I love this! Makes life interesting when the pressure is on to prepare for a trip!

Have fun packing!

!

Us too! We have the housesitter coming one week from today and I feel like I should have the house really neat and tidy. One more thing to add to the "to do" list!

Spent the day packing and we are just about ready! :cool1: And the best part is the luggage is under weight (4 bags) so we can add souveniers!!! :worship:Now if only Friday would get here!!!:yay:

Did a dry run at packing today. Now need to go through and take half out lol. We are heading to the Parks a couple of days before the cruise so its packing 2 sets of bags.

We're packing 2 sets of bags as well... concert and pre-cruise AND cruise! It's confusing now, but will be worth it Tuesday morning!! :thumbsup2 The cooler is the same way: cold beer for pre-cruise, not so cold beer for cruise!! :rotfl2:

LOL. Technically I have 3 sets of bags- parks, parks/precruise/cruise, and cruise. We should be at the hotel around noon or so, just in time for a cold one!

All these talks about multiple bags...I feel out of the loop! I'm only packing one back with all of our clothes for pre-cruise and cruise, however, we're staying in a two bedroom at AKL-Kidani so we'll have a washer and dryer for repeat clothes...

We are staying at VWL and could wash but we're only going to be there 2 days. Not enough to wash but I don't want to take extra dirty clothes on the ship either. We're driving down too so it won't be a problem leaving one bag in the car.

I have DH packed....now working on DS and myself! DH has enough packed for a month...he wouldn't follow my advice about taking 1/2 out either! I was checking the weather today for sail away - not looking so good. I am praying it doesn't get rained out...that happened on our last cruise and it was a total bummer! It also poured buckets while we were at Nassau. On the bright side, the weather looks great for our flight on Thursday! Sea World...here we come! We still haven't decided if we are going to Daytona for the race or not. The next two days are going to be soooo busy with appts., packing, working, etc. Can't believe we leave in 3 days!! See you all soon!

Woo Hoo for 1 WEEK!!! I'm SOOO not packed yet!!!:scared1:

What will we be doing one week from today? Relaxing, having a lovely "start-of-vacation-drink" and getting ready for the lifeboat drill.
I CANNOT wait!!!!!! See you all next week!
