I opened my e-mail this morning and DCL had sent us an upgrade offer. We are currently in standard inside stateroom and for $700 we could upgrade to a category 9c. We are not going to take it because we like deck 6 and the ocean views are mostly decks 1 and 2. Just want to let others know about it.

Make sure it's noted on your reservation. You can celebrate it in the dining room.

Many of us booked specific cabins. If you booked GTY, you are guaranteed cabin in specific category and will find out cabin number closer to cruise.

Since this is our first cruise with DCL, i still have a few questions about the FE gift giving. How many gifts are we supposed to give per group/family? Is it just one total or do you have to give one to each family member or give a group gift every day or what? I understand what to give for gifts at all I just don't understand quantity exactly

There are no set rules on the gifts per se. At a minimum there should be 1 gift per cabin. Some folks I'll give just 1 "larger" gift, some will give gifts for each cabin member and some will do multiple gifts through out the cruise. It's up to you and you should do what you are comfortable with. Some of the best gifts we have received are personalized for our cruise and hand made. You really don't have to be a super crafty person either - there are many ideas online that can be very easy to do but really a neat surprise. Some examples of our favorites we have received;
- travel journal, mini cruise first aid kit, recipe book from cruise, handmade ornament, key chains and a custom can hugger. Let your imagination run wild. Just have fun!

We are now over 30 on the fish extenders, but I would like to propose we wait a little to split in case we lose a few more folks. We have historically had folks who signed up a while back that sometimes no longer are able to participate etc. Another proposal - I would like to suggest I split the group so that if you are traveling with others you are not neccessarily in their FE group so you get to give/receive gifts from others you do not know. Let's watch and see how this plays out over the next week, but as of now, we have enough for a split if that is still the consensus of the group. Getting excited..FE's are coming together, travel plans are nearly all in the bag!

I agree we should just wait until the 24th to decide the final groups and everything since that is the cutoff day anyway. Also, thanks for the tips on gift-giving.

I agree. We finished our FE stuff over the weekend. Our travel plans are 99% done. We are ready to go!
