As for what we need to do to link ressies, I think based on past cruises, if we both contact our TA's or DCL directly and give the names and cabin # of who we'd like to sit with they will arrange it. If anyone can chime in hear and let me know if that's what we need to do I'd appreciate it!

I sent an email to TA and she is taking care of it. no problems. even asked is you would like to transfer your ressie over to her or not.

ok curiosity and my planning mode kicked in and i had to email disney as to what time our cruise would be in port for ketchikan and this was the response i got.

In reviewing your reservation, the current Guests ashore time for
Ketchikan is 1:40pm and the Guests onboard time is 7:30pm.

Please note that the Guests ashore and onboard times may fluctuate based
on actual port arrival and departure times. All time subject to change
without notice.

We're early dining! We did late dining on the wedding cruise because that's what all our friends were doing but we're more than happy to be moving back to early.

If anyone wants to link up we'd be interested.

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

We'd be interested in linking up with early diners. :thumbsup2

Cool - I'm sending you a pm!

For everyone - the only caution about linking dining reservations is that if you are linked you both can't be online booking Palo and excursions at the same time. Otherwise it is a great way to know your dining companions ahead of time.

why not? your only linked to eat together i would think the rest should be indepenent of each other with separate reservations and log ins. good to know that info though. we arent doing Palo and more then likely we wont do any other excursions well we don't plan to anyways. that could change at any given time i nthe future though :rotfl2:

Not sure why but I know it happens. I know when I've been linked with others and then went on to book Palo, etc. that I could see their names as well. So I could have booked Palo with them instead of just us. :confused3

Just didn't want to see anyone get frustrated. Like I said if you are different levels of CC members where you would be booking on different days, or as you said if you weren't interested in booking than it might not be a big deal. For anyone else I would discuss who you want to link with and do it after booking.

hmm interesting..kind of surprised disney would even go there considering someone could book something for you that you don't want and you end up paying for it thinking its a gift or something.

Don't worry Tracy, I promise too make sure I don't book you up for anything! :thumbsup2

From what I remember, if I book Palo online, your names will be there, but I would have to click on your names to add you to the Palo reservation.

We get a free Palo meal since I'm a Platinum cruiser, so we will be eating there one night.

Also, about the arrival time for Ketchikan, that doesn't give us much time in port, does it?!

The best number to call from the US is 1-800-937-1515. i will just post it here as well...this is the number for the Pan Pacific.. I spoke to Rory Schmidt.

No they do not have transportation from the airport to the hotel. We are doing the skyrail ?? which is about a 30 min ride to the dowtown area..my understanding is the drop off is fairly close to the terminal.

Thank you so much for the info. :thumbsup2

I also have a sick family member & have been the prime care taker. Treaments are just about over, & I can concentrate on our trip Its been a ruff year!!!!!

Our plans so far are:
My MIL DH & DD will be flying direct from EWR to YVR Yesterday I booked them one way flights for $236.00 pp. I have business in Seattle & I booked myself a one way ticket for $230.00 from EWR to SEA July 5th will be in Seattle and traveling by train & meeting up with my clan on the Wonder.

My family & I would love to take the train back to Seattle, but I've read there are only very early or late departures train.

We will probably take the bus, back to Seattle, since they have afternoon departures. Tour Seattle leave the next evening for EWR.

Is anyone else taking the bus back to Seattle after the cruise?

I am so looking foward to meeting you all!!!

 I'm sorry to hear you too are dealing with an illness in your family.

I just discovered that the direct flights I found for this year from Mem - YVR are not going to be happening next year. I'm now wondering if I should also do the fly to SEA and take a bus or cough up lots more money for flights to YVR with layovers. At least I have time to make up my mind!

oh i am not worried about it.. i was more referring to like those that are not aware of the processes and all of disney or new to disney. but my overactive brain waves (yeah they kick in every now and again :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl:) are wondering if that is the case and you are linked with a higher castaway member can the higher member book excursions for everyone or will it say sorry you can't do that since these members are not able to book till later time??

ketchikan with the 1:40 on shore time and we don't have to be back on board till 7:30pm. only 6 hours but should be enough time to see some stuff. my friends that just came back said most of the towns are fairly small and compact.

we have a layover in toronto for our flights.. but i found out we go thru customs at the layover versus at vancouver. so i don't mind the layover. how much have flights been from your are to vancouver? ours ended up being roughly$570 per person roundtrip. going out of cleveland

I tried that on our 2/14/10 cruise. I am a gold member & I tried to book a friend (who isn't) on a excursion with me. It let me book myself, but not my friend (since she wasn't a gold) She had to wait. :guilty:

well nice to know but bummer you cant. which makes me think if they thought about that part then they had to think about the booking something for someone else. they have to have something in place for that otherwise they could end up with a world of ticked off people. makes me want to experiment just to see how it is handled. :lmao: ( i think i need to stop reading pyschology books):rotfl2:

Flights from MEM to YVR are $730 on Delta, and about the same on the other airlines. They connect in either Salt Lake City or Seattle. So for us, no going through customs until landing in Vancouver. Flights from MEM to SEA are $360 on Delta. The good thing is that I have enough ff miles on delta for a free ticket (just pay taxes and fees etc). And if it is a flight that lets me pay with miles (a perk from having a Delta AMEX card) I can save at least $100 on DH's ticket too.
At this point it may come down to the best flight departure times coming and going as to making the choice which city we fly into. I can't book the flight online at Delta yet, as the website will only let you book a flight as far out as the 5th of July 2011 as of today. So I'll have to wait another week for the ability to book the whole flight.

The website has been updated with perdidobay's picture.

I hope everyone enjoys "meeting" everyone this way.
