Well, we're no stranger to cruising, that's for sure. But I have to admit I had no idea that there was an online community this large for DCL! Thanks for the welcome.
So we're finishing our packing up now, and we're planning on doing the helicopter ride/dogsledding excursion on top of Mendenhall Glacier. Anyone know how cold that part of the trip is supposed to be? Like winter coats weather or can we get by in warm jackets?![]()
I'm not bringing my uber-winter gear...I'm packing very light long underwear (Wintersilks), then a T-shirt over cargo pants, a jean jacket or fleece jacket, and then a rain jacket or windbreaker. I'm stowing a travel umbrella in my backpack. I think this will suffice for any glacial activity. The weather is prone to change at any time and you will probably experience all types of weather in a single day.

An unintended result of interviewing the week before our cruise: due to my nervousness and lack of eating I've actually lost weight!
I love that I'm going into the cruise a few pounds lighter - makes me feel less guilty about eating on the ship
Haven't packed an umbrella. Wonder if I need to weigh my bags....

I plan to sleep on the plane tomorrow!
