Woohoo! 4th of July at Disney World is going to awesome! I almost have the trip paid for but just need to make up mind where to stay... value or moderate? Hubby is taking his golf clubs, so dont want a room to be too crowded with lugage and all. Help what to do?!?!?!?!

We stayed offsite last year over 4th of July. It was so exciting there were 2,000 people becoming citizens at MK that day. The fireworks were some of the best I've seen. We arrived early and stayed all day and the parks didn't seem overly crowded compared to Christmas.

We stayed at Marriott Cyress Harbour our family has a time share there. It was nice and big a two bedroom. The tiny bugs at night were really bad near the lights at the resort.

We've stayed lots of places on property:cool1: and are vacation club owners.

Moderate -PORS beautiful and relaxing hop the boat to DDD. :dance3:

Deluxe- Love the AKL the pool is breathtaking and calm well most of the time. The animals are a bonus as is Boma for Breakfast. We haven't tried dinner as of yet. We've stayed her four times.

Go fo broke at the Grand Floridian we haven't tried this yet but its just beautiful and close to MK.

Kids in tow the BC is the perfect spot with a "water park" on property.

We arrive sometime in the afternoon/evening of the 4th July so had planned just to do Downtown Disney as we thought the parks might be overcrowded for a first look. Also will have been up rather a long time as flying from UK. Is this a good idea?
:cheer2:

The plane is due to set off at 9am English time and arrive at Sanford at 1.45pm Florida time. But with a time difference of 5 hours, it'll feel like 6.45pm to us. They look like they keep changing the flight times though. Then we have to collect luggage, collect car, possibly find a supermarket for beer, wine, pop and anything else we've already realised we've forgotten or couldn't get in the UK before travelling. Then find the resort. As much as I hope the magic starts straight away, I think we might be a bit too weary to hit a park. We thought Downtown was probably our best option to acclimatise ourselves. We'll probably be up early anyway the next morning. Hopefully DH will let us hit the parks, at the moment he wants to spend that day chilling.:beach:

Sounds like it would be a good idea to get to your resort and eat at the food court and hit the hot tub and go to bed early. You'll need the hot tub after that long flight.:cloud9:

Head straight for the park magic the next day all refreshed and ready to go.:wizard:

Have a wonderful time. Where are you staying?:dance3:

We're staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Don't know if Alligator or Mansions until we arrive. We're on the dining plan but haven't booked anything for the first night as we'll probably just food court something when we're ready. One reason we thought take the boat to Downtown, have a look around, get something to eat and generally stretch our legs and get used to the temperature. I don't think it'll be too late a night though.

We've stayed at PORS many times we love it there.

We didn't like the Alligator Bayou section a little to rustic for us.:scared:

You can call reservations and request a certain location. They won't guarantee it but I wouldn't leave the choice to them. You can see a map of the resort on wdwinfo.com

We love:love: the Mansion side and have stayed in Parterre Place very quiet and serene but only a short walk to the food court and the pool. Our room faced the water way.

The Oak Manor and Magnolia Terrace are closer to the Main pool.

The longest walk is Acadia. We stayed there once and it just felt far from everything.

We have a friend in Warrington Appleton Chesire who we met last year on Sanibel Island in Flordia. Is that close to where you are?

Your gonna have a blast I can't wait for our next trip!:cheer2: :cheer2:

We've had a look at the maps and we thought we might look at asking for Oak Manor or building 18 or 27 on the Bayou side. They look to have reasonable close smoking huts (sorry myself and DH took it up again a couple of years ago), so grab an early morning/late evening mug of coffee/tea/etc and a cigarette. We need to work out if we need to sort anything else out yet before ringing. It wasn't a cheap phone call to made the ADR's.
Cheshire isn't too far, but I can't say we've been to that part.
Can't wait now!

We check in CSR on 6-29 and check out 7-6! This is the third time we have been to WDE over July 4th - the best time to go! We always spend 7-4 at AK because it is simply not as crowded - everyone wants to be at MK or Epcot on the fourth.
