July 4th - will parks close for capacity?

We will arrive on July 3 very late & the first day on our FTP is July 4th. Dare we plan to park hop that day or even sleep in a little before checking in at OKW? We have been there for NYE at MK but have never been for July 4 & don't know what to except. Do any or all of the parks usually close due to capacity crowds?

MK may close, but you should be relatively safe at the other parks.

MK will more than likely close due to capacity issues. If their fireworks is a MUST see(which I think it is) you can watch them since they are 360 degrees from anywhere in the vincity outside of MK.

a couple of questions:

1) are the fireworks any different than the usual MK fireworks?
2) if we go early in the day and get a hand-stamp, can we get back in later at night even if the parks close due to capacity? (we did that at Epcot on NYE 1999/2000).

We were in WDW two years ago the week of the 4th of July. It was not as bad as I thought because of the economy. The Resorts were not full to capacity and the parks were not too crowded. I would think that it is about the same now with the alerts and all. I hate it for WDW but I like not having the crowds. It's crowded don't get me wrong but in the past it was a giving the parks would close due to capacity, but now I don't know. AK and MK are the two you should worry about closing if at all.

Stay at a deluxe and it won't seem as pedestrian.
