Any suggestion on what to do in San Diego for July 4th?We will be there from the 3rd -6th and would like to do the Wild Animal Park Zoo and possibly a beach or Sea World. Is there anything special to do for the 4th with fireworks etc.
Any other don't miss attractions I have not considered. We have been to Sea World so that is just a fall back.
Alos does anyone know how the Supposedly new Residence Inn in San Diego is? It is on Hotel Circle South In MIssion Valley. Is this a decent area?
Thanks

A fun place to be for fireworks in SD is Coronado Island, but it's very crowded, so plan on going early in the day (you don't want to get stuck in traffic on the Coronado bridge!). There are several parks on the island where you can watch fireworks over the bay after a day on one of Cornonado's beaches--it's great!

Mission Valley is very convenient to all areas of SD. Hotel Circle is not bad, but not terribly scenic. It used to be where everyone stayed for conventions, until they built the new convention center downtown. If your hotel is new and you're getting a good rate, and you have your own transportation, you should do well there.

A fun place close to your hotel area is Old Town. Go for ddinner and wander around in the shops (the restaurants generally have long waits, but if you go before you're very hungry, you should enjoy spending the time browsing).

Also, La Jolla is a great area to wander around shops and check out the beach, lots of fun stuff there.

Also, the Wild Animal Park and Zoo are two different places. I love them both, but the Wild Animal Park is quite far North. If you like a safari-type adventure, it's worth the drive!

Have a great stay in my hometown!:Pinkbounc
