With all these comments Im reading about the parks reaching capacity..... IT's making me nervous......

My Flight lands at MCO at 2:20........ If I get to the MK around 4:45 will I be OK?

Once I get there I don't plan on leaving for the rest of the evening, considering they are open till 12 midnight.

Hopefully your comments will calm my nerves.

from what I understand, if you are stayin on property you will be allowed in even if the park is at capacity although I would not want to be there if it was at capacity :)

Thanks! Glad I'm staying at ASMu

just curious........ when they say "capacity" exactly how many ppl is that.....

We get into MCO at 1:10. :cool1: I was thinking of going to the parks, but we have Chef Mickey PS at 8:30. I have tried & tried to get an earlier time but can't. We'll miss the fireworks, so why bother. I think we'll just hang out at the pool. Maybe go to DTD. I'll probably change my mind 10 times between now & the 4th. :)

The last two times I was there for July 4 (2003 & 2004) MK closed to anyone not already inside the park at about 3:00 pm. We had been advised by our concierge itinerary planner that if we wanted to be sure to be in the park for fireworks that night not to leave after lunch. She booked us a PS for Tony's for dinner instead of the one we had already booked for Narcoossee's because she said if we left the park just to go over to GF and they closed the park due to capacity we would not be let back in. There are different stages of capacity and MK has reached the final stage for the last few years on July 4th.

So I'm assuming that the post that stated that if you stayed on property you'd be able to get in no matter what is incorect?

I believe that they first stop admitting non-resort guests, then eventually if they get crowded enough, they will stop admitting resort guests as well (as the previous poster indicated.) Just because you are a resort guest still does not guarentee you entry into the park if they reach maximum capacity. It's rare, but it does happen.

That's right. They have certain levels that if they reach then resort guests are still allowed in but if they reach maximum capacity(and I don't know what that is) then anyone(resort guests included) leaving the park is not allowed back in.

If you are staying on property, you are guaranteed admission to a park. That may not necessarily be the park of your choice. So, unfortunately, you may be denied entrance to the Magic Kingdom.

Trust me when I say that if the Magic Kingdom is closed because one more person won't fit in? You don't want to be in there ANYWAY.

Hi!

Regarding if you are on Disney Resort - I'm not sure if they let you in if it's at capacity. I heard that even at 10am they reach full capacity :confused3

I'll be there bright and early! :teeth:

Good Luck! :wizard:

If you are staying on property you are guaranteed to get into A PARK that doesn't mean it will be Magic Kingdom. If you are getting their that late in the day on the 4th of July I would have an alternate plan just in case. You can call 407-WDISNEY and they will explain the policy to you. So in other words if MK and MGM have reached capacity and they are not allowing anyone else in then they will give you the option of going to Epcot or AK. I do think that they reserve so much room for resort guests but once they reach a certin number at MK they will divert resort guests to other parks.

Disney will not release capacity numbers, however, I have seen rumors that MK can hold up to 100,000 people. Wow - that seems unreal! Google "magic kingdom capacity" and you can find some interesting numbers.

my god, that's alot...... i will definetely be sure to archive this on video, if I get in......

I wouldn't be nervous about July 4th. I was at Disney last July from the 4th to the 11th and I wasn't annoyed by the crowds in the least. I know it's gonna be busy but you just go with the flow. Stay hydrated and expect to wait in long lines. Regarding Magic Kingdom, I do have to admit that I didn't go...so they might be booked to capacity by the time you try to get there...but there is still plenty to do. You could go to Epcot, or you could see fireworks at MGM (which is what me and dh will be doing).

Stay out of Epcot! We will be there and we want it to ourselves on July 4 :rotfl2: We have been on July 4 many many times and it does close -even Epcot did twice with us there- but luckily never to Resort guests when we were there. Have a plan B just in case so you are not disappointed- we avoid MK like the plague on July 4 every year- too much for us.

I worked at Mk on July 4th in 1999 and it was PACKED. I actually had a man spill the 4 cups of HOT coffee all over me that he was carrying b/c he got jostled so much on his way back to his family...

because the crowds kind of come and go. I think some people leave after the parade and come back after dinner.

We'll be there 7/2-7/9 and we've actually decided to stay away from the MK on the 4th. It's crowded as heck, that's no lie. :earseek: We're going to spend our day at Epcot.
