July 4th anyone???

Another one at SSR, 7/2 - 7/7. I've read that they have fireworks at DTD so we should have a front row view for that. Plan on totally skipping the parks on the th to avoid the crowds. The last time I was there on the 4th it was the very first for WDW in 1973. Interestingly the park was more crowded on the 5th as everyone stayed away on the 4th because they thaought it would be crowded.

yes, but at the Swan. Eating at Bluezoo, hitting the Adventurers Club. If I go to a park it'll probably be the Studios.

If they're still doing the DTD fireworks those are awesome. SSR people take note.

I will be at SSR on the 4th! It will be my first experience with the fireworks here. Do they have any other activities? (pool party, food, music?)

Watching fireworks from our resort sounds soooooo much more appealing than fighting the crowds at the theme parks!

Can't wait! :goodvibes

We will be at the SSR from 6/28 - 7/6. Onn the 4th we have reservations at Kona & then plan to be down at the beach watching the MK Fireworks.

SSR for me too - coming in Thurs 7/3, leaving Sunday 7/6. It's a resort weekend - no parks this trip. I'll watch the fireworks from SSR on the 4th, and spend the other nights at Comedy Warehouse.

wow!! The beach at the Poly is going to be crowded!! We have Ohana that night and planned on watching them from the beach also :rotfl: :rotfl:

We watched them from the beach last June and loved it!
We'll be at AKV over the 4th. Plans right now include dinner at 'Ohana that night and watching the fireworks from the beach at the Poly.

Our family will be there too....This time we will be staying @ BWV....6/29-7/10....then we will drive down to my Dad's house in Lehigh Acre's (near Ft. Myer's)....

Looking forward to a long relaxing vacation.

Edited to add... Our plans for the 4th we also have a ressie for OHana's and will watch the fireworks from the beach there.

We tried to get a ressie at Kona Cafe for dinner, but the earliest they had was 8:20. We decided to try The Wave and then we are heading the Poly to see the fw from the beach~looks like a few of us are planning on that!!!:cool1:

We'll be at SSR 7/3-7/5. Wish we could stay longer but DH is teaching summer school. We've gone to Epcot every year for the 4th for the past 9 years. This is our first 4th of July as DVC owners and the thought of staying around SSR and avoiding the hectic crowds sound appealing too. Hope to run into you all while we're there.

It looks like alot of us at SSR. We will be there from 6/30 to 7/10. I haven't decided where to go for the fireworks yet but we plan on avoiding the parks on the 4th. I haven't done alot of planning for this trip but I guess I had better get going. It seems to be coming up pretty fast!

So are the crowds manageable for the week of the 4th?

What can be expected as far as getting through crowds, ride waits, etc.

Is there really 30 minute waits for the bathrooms?

We aren't owners but maybe one day! At any rate, we check in to AKL on July 3rd for three nights then to AKV for 8 more. We plan on arriving at AKL around noon on the third. We would like to hit the pool briefly then to MK for fireworks and EMH. July 4th we plan to be at Epcot.

MK usually has fireworks on the 3rd too -- great view from the Poly Beach. I would go to DHS on the 4th. They only have fireworks on NYE and the 4th. I've seen NYE 2x -- Terrific

We''ll,, be at SSR on the 4th tooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
