We just returned from a fabulous trip! This was by far the most magical day I have ever spent in the MK!! We decided to spend the 3rd at the MK in order to avoid the crowds on the 4th and that turned out to be a great idea. We were there at rope drop for the 8am opening and rode many rides and saw characters without much wait. We had lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern around noon. By that time it had gotten rather crowded. It was a nice break in the air conditioning! We went back to the resort after lunch to nap.

We returned around 5:30 and got FP for later and rode a few things. We had dinner at BoG at 7:25. DD5 was dressed as Belle and thoroughly enjoyed dinner. Seeing her face light up as we walked in the ballroom was priceless!!! Dinner was great and the atmosphere was amazing. We had our picture with the Beast and just as we were walking out the fireworks were starting. We watched from the bridge outside the restaurant and we were surrounded by fireworks from all sides! The kids (DD5 and DS10) watched in amazement!

DH left with the girls DD5 and DD10months to go back to the hotel. DS10 and I stayed until 2:45am!!! We had a fabulous time together riding every single ride we wanted! The crowds thinned out after the parade and the weather was very comfortable! It was my first evening EMH and it was awesome! DS favorite ride is Buzz and we must have ridden it 10 times that night with 0 wait! We have now become experts and max out just about every time!

We had a wonderful trip and I thank the DIS for a lot if the information that helped me plan our week at Disney! I knew the week of July 4th would be busy, but with the planning I did we had a fabulous time!! Now I'm off to convince DH to let me plan our next trip!!

Beautiful! This is great information. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds awesome! We just returned home last night from an 11-day trip, our first to WDW! I too had a great time, I learned a lot from the boards and did rope drop too with breaks for swimming and/or naps. So glad you had fun on the 3rd! We spent the morning at MK like you, we were there for rope drop too and left around lunch to go back to the poly to swim. We watched the fireworks every night except our first night from our room at the poly-the 4th of July week long fireworks were amazing! I can't imagine how great they were from inside the park. What a great moment for your family!

Just want to thank you for this post! I'm thinking about going July 2014 & with some of the negative posts I've read kind of made me rethink it. But, hearing what you have to say is erasing some of that doubt... So where did you go on the 4th?????

We went to AK on the 4th. We slept in and then got to the park around 10. We used FP and rode the major rides. We had a late lunch at the Tusker House and stayed until closing around 7. The kids were exhausted so we didn't watch fireworks that night.

That sounds fantastic! Glad you had a great time and again, thanks for sharing. :)
