July 31 2008 Disney Wonder Roll Call 07/31/08

MTMom - My family would also like to meet. The time and place you mentioned (at Pinocchio's after the lifeboat drill) would work out fine for us. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Hey Cruisers! Anyone know what movies will be showing on our ship? I know you can call Disney and ask but I haven't gotten the chance. Has anyone here?
Thanks!

Hey Everyone!

We are leaving tomorrow (Friday morning, July 25th) for our vacation. Our first stop is Universal Studios for 2 nights, then on to WDW for 4 nights, then we'll see you all on the boat! :yay:

BTW, if you do decide to come to our meet at Pinocchio's immediately following the lifeboat drill, try to pin something lime green to your shirt for ID purposes. I believe it's the official DIS color. I will have a lime green mickey head safety-pinned on me (prolly not my family though). You can also look for those kids in my profile pic, except that the DD is now a brunette. (Don't get me started on that, maybe over a beer that I can cry in)

Today is a very busy day! I am hosting an 8am birthday breakfast for my DS who is turning 12 today. He's getting his first cell phone :scared: The rest of the day is busy with packing and primping (us girls have to get our nails and toes ready!!).

Knowing me though, I'm sure I'll be checking back in with ya'll until the moment I leave, just wanted to make this post JIC.

Oh, and I don't know what the movie is, anybody else know?

It's almost time!!!!

Have a great time MTMom!!!! Can't wait to see you on the boat!

And don't give up hope on your DD's blonde hair- I dyed mine brown when I was about her age and then finally realized the error of my ways Now I am back to being a natural blonde. She'll come back to the good side! ;)

Well, today is the day for us! We have a 9:15 am flight out of Memphis, so because we leave in the middle of egypt, we have to leave at 6:30 am to get there on time.

I'm not bringing my laptop on this trip so I won't be able to check in with you guys (unless of course, I find a computer I can hack into).

So...I'm really looking forward to the cruise and meeting everyone.

Until then,
Annetta

Hello, all!

Our family is going on this Disney Wonder cruise (Jul31 - Aug03) for the first time and we're all so excited!! :) Hubby and I had our honeymoon on a Royal Carribbean cruise 8 years ago and that was fun, too!

Anyway, not sure if we'd be able to meet up but I'd like to give it a try. Not sure about the lime green thing but how about a name tag of some sort? I'd love to meet fellow cruisers as that would be fun!! BTW, We're doing the Discover Atlantis excursion in Nassau. Only took the Castaway Cay package at Castaway....

Let's see... hubby is 37, I'm 35, daughters are 13 and 5, and our son is 21 months old. I'm worried about our kids getting seasick but I'm praying for the best. I hope there are other infants our son's age on the cruise!!

Any other tips on meeting up while on this cruise?

Take care and hope to hear from you guys!

Ahoy Crazylove99! Welcome aboard! I'm sure you and your family will have a wonderful time. We've taken a few Disney cruises before, and are planning to be perfectly relaxed slugs. We might not even get off the boat in Nassau. The only thing we've got scheduled is a dinner at Palo. If you're worried about sea sickness, get some Bonine. It doesn't make you drowsy, and it really works for me (and I'm one of those people who can't even ride backwards in a revolving restaurant).
See you soon!
:wave2:

Crazylove99- Welcome to our wonderful thread for our cruise this week (omg, can you believe it's this week!!!?)! I second what Steve's Wife said about Bonine. I usually get seasick but when I take it, I never do.

I am cruising with a bunch of people!! My parents, my fiance, his parents, his brother and sister and their boyfriends/girlfriends. It's going to be interesting!! Like Steve's Wife, I doubt we will get off the boat at Nassau either (we aren't big fans of Nassau).

Can't wait to set sail!!!
See you real soon!

Thanks for the warm welcome! We are so excited for this trip! I can't believe it's tomorrow already!!! :cheer2: Good thing is we're just a few hours away from Port Canaveral so we hope to get there early...

Anyway, today is all about packing and getting ready. When we started having kids, it takes me EXTRA forever to pack! I'm sure the moms out there could relate to me. :rotfl: My husband thinks I'm a weirdo for wanting to iron everything out and clean the house before leaving! :rolleyes1 Oh, well! The way I see it, it's great to come home to clean house after a vacation!!! :cool1:

I hope to meet you guys on the cruise but, if not, I wish you a fun-filled cruise!! :woohoo:

Take it easy!

We leave tomorrow!! Woohoo! I'm so excited. I just wanted to check in and wish everyone a safe trip to the Port.

Also, my DF and I might not be able to make it to our get together tomorrrow. My future mother in law has "some family activities planned!" in the cabins after the drill. *sigh*, so we'll see if we make it. Gotta keep mother in law to be happy!

If we don't meet you tomorrow hopefully we will run into each other sometime but if not, have a wonderful, relaxing and fun cruise!
:beach: pirate: :boat: :sail:

Hey guys,
I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet up with you all on the cruise :guilty: but hope that you had a fantastic time like we did! :) It was simply amazing and we can't wait to go on another cruise.... I think we're hooked!!!

The Discover Atlantis aquarium excursion at Nassau was good but we plan on not getting off the ship next time. At least, we did it once. We absolutely adored Castaway Cay!! It was heaven!! The beach was tons of fun; the bike ride was cool!!! I wished it was less humid but, all in all, everything turned out great at the beach. We all wished we could stay longer in that paradise.... Oh, well!!!

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and tell you guys about our first time on Disney Wonder. Love it, love it, love it!!! :yay:

You guys take care and hope to see you on future cruises!!! :grouphug:

I hope everyone had a magical time!!!!

This cruise was absolutely perfect. My fiance and I got off the boat for about 1 hour in Nassau (went to the straw market to buy fake purses for his nieces) and then enjoyed the boat while no one was on it!!

Castway Cay was amazing-we just layed around and got some great pictures! :cloud9:

This was my 2nd Disney Cruise but I forgot how great the shows were. I loved every show! My favorite was Disney Dreams (I cried during it, lol), then Toy Story and last The Golden Mickeys.

We enjoyed all the restaurants, buffets, pools, and classes. The only thing I wasn't happy with was our dinner seating arrangement. We traveled with a big group: 10 people. Somehow my fiance and I got split up from our group. We were seated with a man that had 2 kids (this wasn't the problem). Sadly, this man was rude to our waiters (who were fabulous and so much fun!), yelled at his kids throughout dinner and talked to us nonstop. :( We still enjoyed ourselves yet wished we got to sit with our family (or alone!)

I wish we had gotten the chance to meet up with all of you. As I previously posted, my MIL to be insisted that we all meet in someone's room, make room decorations and color :sad2: :confused3 . Color? Yes. Color. She assigned us all Disney characters and gave us a coloring page to color and "hang in our rooms!".

Again, I hope everyone had a lovely time and I can't wait to hear your stories!

Hi everyone! We had a wonderful time on our first Disney cruise. Loved Castaway Cay, except DH and I both got BLISTERED and are in such pain!! We were so miserable in Nassau that we didnt stay there long..but spent all day on Castaway Cay. Kids loved the childrens activities ..cant wait to hear about everyones trip!

We just got home from a long drive, but had an awesome trip!!!!!!!! It was an amazing cruise, other than the major downpour before sail a way we could not have been blessed with better weather.

I am posting my trip pictures to my photo site, if anyone wants to have a peak let me know by pm. I got some good ones of the ship I think. I also swear I got a picture of a tornado when we left Nassua! Sorry we didnt get a chance to meet up, it just gets so busy! Had a blast though!
